Good morning, sis.
ReplyDeleteWhat town are you moving to? Is it Lakeville?
What do the kids think? In the end, it's your decision, not theirs. I am curious, though.
No piano? I will send some links to your email. Be sure to check. They don't need to be tuned.
You won't need your bitty dishwasher, either.
If it's Lakeville, you'll be back with Lopez's walking paths, your 24 hour food stores, etc.
It will be easy to make friends in a senior community. Here we them as Independent Living or Assisted Living. Depends on if you're even partially disabled or not. I'm in Independent Living, but qualify for a homemaker to come once a week to help with things like laundry, floors, whatever I need. It's such a lot of red tape they put you through, though. I qualify more than I did the first time I tried, so I might do it again.
Today it's taking 'Becca on her shopping rounds while I sit in the car and wait. I play solitaire or read a book on my tablet while she's shopping.
Off here now. I want to get the dishes done before she sends a message that she's ready to go.
Happy Good Friday and all of Easter weekend to you and yours.
{{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
no I do not need my itty bitty fancy dish washer--I know the area and the town--kinda excited about it all--I will miss Dave tho--He is beginning to be a habit--Lynda
DeleteYes it is Lakefield---I know that area--that town-Lynda
DeleteHappy Good Friday, Lynda! it is high 75 in Ohio! Your icy weather sounds awful. Great news that you have made a decision on where and what you want. Matt will take the best care of you and close to Allison, and me! LOL! I hope you plan a trip here soon! Keep that in mind. Have a fabulous Friday and your outing with Dave. Hugs to you!

DeleteIs this Reeny??--- Good to hear from a positive person --LOL-It mux]st be Reeny--LOL--lynda-
DeleteNo, not Reeny. Yorkie mom that lives by Allison:)
DeleteIt's Kathy. If you're happy about moving then I'm happy for you! It's what I wanted for my mom after my dad passed away - a place where she could be with people. It's also what we wanted for Tom's mom but his sister wanted the house. Today is my Tom's birthday - and he's going to the New Art Center to teach Color Theory. He has 9 students - last one signed up this morning. Then we're going out for dinner tonight - Mexican food! No cooking for me. Have a wonderful day and I'm so happy you have made this decision!
ReplyDeleteKathy I am ecstatic about moving---=Tat memory test is the last straw--- Happy Birthday to you Tom too!--I am so happy that you feel this last move is a good idea! --I believe it will be--no more cooking for one--a movie nite--no ca---people Around--and it is Lakefield --=closer to Allison--Lynda
Deletelotza oice outside to-day--no good!-Lynda
DeleteAnother move? You are getting to be an expert at it. Hopefully this will be the last one. Sounds like you have made a good decision for a more carefree future. Enjoy this holiday weekend! Susan/Colorado
ReplyDeleteSusan I love you for you writing and agreeing that it might be a good decision to Move----no car--because they will "take me where ever I need to go , in a van--or I shall walk--with my huge Chinese Cart--compliments of Allison--I am excited about the move---- so much hoopla about the driving memory test etc--So Stupid!!-- Thank yu for putting your 2 cents in here--Lynda
Deleteso much ce outside to-day--Lynda
DeleteI still don't understand why you are moving yet again, and so quickly, but, you do you, I guess. You could certainly still be allowed to drive, if you just kept trying, and got another doctor, doctors are a dime a dozen. And, I thought you wanted to be back in Elliot Lake so badly, and paid to have your yard all fenced in, etc. So, I guess I am rather stunned by it all.
ReplyDeleteWith that said, I think this next move is where you SHOULD have gone all along. :)
Marti
Oh Marti--Here Drs Are not a dime a dozen--plus it is so so lonely here-- plus meals wud be provided--plus I still will not need a car---plus-- I am getting older--not younger--Dunno --but I hope it will be a good move--Lynda-
DeleteHi Lynda: If you are happy about the move, I am happy for you. At least now you know Lakefield and know where you are going. So you're really sure you want to move from Elliot Lake this time. I think Matt looks after you quite well when you are there. and no driving will be good if that's what you want. You will meet lots of people in the seniors home and should be quite happy. And no more shoveling snow! And Happy Easter. Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteBrenda--That IS a good thing eh--The NO MORE SHOVELLING SNOW thing----another "move" is not so good--but people around sure sounds good!-Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda, if moving back to Lakefield to a Senior Living complex makes you happy and gives you piece of mind, then I am happy for you. Will you visit the place before the actual move so that you know what you can take with you furniture wise? If you're giving up the car then there's no need to jump through anymore hoops or to see the young doctor again.
ReplyDeleteWill one of you sons help you sell your tiny house, car, piano and other things that you won't need? Will Matt help you switch all of your banking business back to Lakefield? With so many moves, you've become a champion in packing up and preparing for a move. God bless you Lynda.
Maureen from California
Hi Maureen--I have asked Ethan if he might like the piano--He hasn't gotten back to me-- and yes, I will rent the room maybe for a short time before moving in--just to see what life is like there----Yes our bank was originally there in Lakefield--so, it ill be nice to return to it----- kinda weird to be moving again but it will not be till August--Lynda
DeleteOh wow! Another move to where sone #2 Matt and family lives. Well, he seems to be the most helpful, so suppose it’s a good idea. And you don’t need to be shoveling, etc. I wish you luck. And it will be nice not to have to worry about driving. Though I am sure it is disappointing.
ReplyDeleteYes, you really have to be careful before opening texts and e-mails. I would still want to be able to do at least some cooking for myself, though it is really nice to know that if for some reason you don’t feel like it of can’t, you have meals available.
Definitely never lose your sense of humor. It can be life-saving. LOVE the photos from the past.
Well, my dear . . . good luck to you!
hugs and blessings

ReplyDeleteOops, just read the comment back to the other Barb, I see the pets ARE going along with you!
DeleteSo glad you are able to take your fur babies with you when you move. That’s quite a blessing✨ Carol in FL
ReplyDeleteLynda, I apologize for my rude comments yesterday, I was feeling ill and cranky - coming down with a cold.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great day today!
Marti
Well, you know Son #2 is my favorite of all your children, so being close to him is a plus right there. He eased the transition during your first move to Lakefield, which was so stressful with having to downsize and your husband's failing health. This time, the move will be for YOU. An adventure! New things! An opportunity for growth and to try new things, to engage and make new friends. And no cooking! Think of all the new brain cells you'll be growing. You are a "people person" and your energy will be a magnet for others.
ReplyDeleteIf Ethan isn't interested in the piano (and he might not be -- I don't know if he plays), perhaps one of your local sons could contact the local high school to see if one of the students in the music department would want it. Or if not, perhaps one of them could put a notice on Facebook Marketplace. The aim is to find the piano a home where its owner loves it as much as you do.
You can do this. / Leslie
I'm Sure you will like the new place. Lots of activities and people to connect with. Donna_cps2 Lansing IL

ReplyDeleteafter reading what you have had to go through I have started looking into the same type of plece of course I hope to have a few more years to be where I am and I have a disabled child that I take care of so I also look into a place for this child that will allow the freedom that the child is use to I kind of like not having to drive or eat alone being close to Matt will be good and to be able to have Lopez and Sushi with you bill be great I am sure that you have made a very informed decision and I thank yo for sharing it all your trials with this have made me see things that I need to look into and I have times to make these choices I know that you are a very brave and strong and wise woman
quote for today

Hi Lynda
ReplyDeleteJust curious if youve checked out The Lodge where you are vs uprooting again? If you feel moving to Lakefield is the right choice for you.... Go with our blessings. Matt has always been so very helpful and supportive.
Please check out the place first as I'm positive you will have to get rid of a lot..possibly the king bed. Ive looked at a few myself and they are very small and very expensive. Glad the pets are welcome.
Its a shame that goofy Dr is causing all this upheaval in your life.
Cold in St.Louis. 30sF tonight after lots of rain.
Easter blessings to you and your family
