Spring has Sprung--

 Hopefully everyone is doing just fine--We have another overcast day--  thick clouds --no sun--but it is mild with drizzle--Lopez and I, "hoofed" it up the road and he did his business--and now Sadie, the cleaning Lady is here--who yu know is really me.

This is the last day in April---and we sure have had our share of the "April Showers"--I do not see the May flowers yet---- no hummingbirds---  ----  but lots of Robins ---building nests on top of light fixtures and everything else, outside--

Christina Rossetti, wrote--"There is no time like Spring, when life's alive in every thing."-

-So true isn't it?--exciting-- I look around at the tiny shoots of grass popping up, especially after I get out there raking--I have done most of the front lawn--and the dog pen--just have the septic bed--then the huge area down by the lake--Right now, many mornings , I am out there, as the snow melts,  ('scuse the expression)---  on "Po Patrol"----especially after big Beau , and the long winter!-

-and soon, the most dread of all--- the BLACK FLIES will be out--  They seem to come , as the leaves  appear on the trees--just before the 24th of May-- and to survive the Spring gardening, out comes that dreaded bug suit-

after SPRING----SUMMER----  The joys of sitting on the dock---day dreaming--reading on the dock--

Tennyson said, "Summer is coming, summer is coming, I know it, I know it, I know it,  -Light again, leaf again, life again, love again, nest again, young again--etc etc--

Summer starts around June 21st but most of us think of summer as the season between Memorial Day (May 30) and Labor Day (the 1st Monday in September--so exciting-----

  

--So I continue to rake away the winter---polish up the outdoors ready for Spring--- and  then summer---and  try to be strong-- because, we have to be, don't we?- We are the "PILOT"---of our lives.

To-day will be great --because we  will make it that way---

 WE HAVE  RAIN-----It will melt the last of the snow-- It is overcast--and cool--- but--I feel there is hope--Spring is somewhere around here-- We shall make to-day  ridiculously amazing--- won't we?-

Before I get off on a tangent about  anything-I must let yu know that yesterday, getting Himself to the Hospital to see an ENT specialist , went well- He needed a wheel chair, of course-- which he will need all the time now, to walk any distance-- but it went well-- Everyone was most kind to him--He put his Health card in a pocket and couldn't find which pocket (men have too many pockets anyway)--but the woman in admitting found his info  in her computer -- (I wanted to hug her!)----Eventually I got him on the elevator and up we went to the  Day Clinic--and after a short wait, we met the ENT Lady Dr., who was ever so nice to him---She examined his throat and found that one of the vocal chords was stuck in place-- open--There are 2 vocal cords--she said most people that this happens to, end up getting pneumonia because they aspirate food etc into the lung--but-- that has not happened to him--

No polyps  --no cancer-- (That was a relief for Himself)_and she can fix that vocal cord with some special glue-in the OR---  but with a local freezing--hopefully next time she is in town-

-so, all went well-

It took us the whole morning- but was such a relief that he might get his voice back --  When that vocal cord is open, he loses air--making it difficult for him to talk-- she told us it was a result of him having Covid last June-

Life is good isn't it?--Even at almost 95!--

Last evening my brother called  from his LTC place---There is no phone in his room but someone there , told me it is no problem to reach him on their phones-----He seems more content there--I wish that we lived closer--- but--- "that's the way it is"---He has 4 sons--  sons don't see what a Dad needs--   If  he only had a daughter, the daughter would step in-- but--- no daughter---  He said he only has 1 shirt-- LOLOLOL---  but--he has no idea of a size--I told him if he can find the size I will send him a couple new Polo shirts--Poor guy eh?--How can anyone ever have only one shirt?-- 

Anyway--It is a new day--- and I must get busy here--I certainly enjoyed all your comments to yesterday's blog----

Make To-day Amazing!

 To-day WILL be a great day---  I am telling myself this--  --because I shall make it a great day--no matter what--

Yesterday was "hair day'--and--just to get out and in town, and talk to other  people, was fabulous--lots of normal people- in town--LOL--

To-day , himself is going to the hospital to see an ENT Doctor--- who might tell us why he is not able to talk properly-- It seems that after he had Covid last June, his vocal cords  were never the same--I hope she has some ideas on how to correct  this--

There is NO SNOW FALLING--YEAH!---- and everyday I try to get  out and do some raking--after the worst winter ever.  Our grass looks like it has been marched over by herds of  animals-- When I get back home this morning,  I can take another area  of lawn--and try to bring it back to normal--

I read all your comments last night-- always enjoy hearing from you all-- 

--And---  it seems like you all do tell yourself ----that "You can Do This"-------Only 2 more days-- and it will be MAY--- and for sure it will warm up in May-- the month that we dance around that May pole-and hopefully those Hummingbirds will return to the North--

i shall talk to you all later--let you know how Himself makes out--I must make sure he is wearing socks to-day--

- You gotta love a  new day--and so far, "it's all quiet on the western front"-(--someone once said that)--I dunno who--- but--it does sound like something a cowboy might've said ---  Remember those cowboys?-

-I like the above picture--- The man in the picture does look so relaxed--just thinking about life I guess--maybe even  the cowboys--LOLOL---  ----  Do you remember "Hop-along Cassidy"?-- -I don't know why, but I always liked him---- (Who names their kid, "Hop-along" anyway?--)-

Then, there was Gene Autry-- Dale Evans----Roy Rogers---Tonto--- and they all had horses--There were no cars in those TV shows---The star of the show always had white horses and the bad guys had black horses--and there  was a girl- I used to love these shows---

 There was "Our Miss Brooks"--not a cowboy show, but one of the 30 minute shows that we were addicted to--Can you remember some of the others? 

Well, it was not the best night last evening, as Lopez does not like Himself's cane---  snarls at it---even  barks at it , causing Himself to get angry --and then, it seems "All hell breaks loose"-It never used to be like this--- I remember  himself as the most patient, kindest person in the whole wide world-

Now where did that man go?--

- It is "Hair Day" for me-- no colour-so, I will bring Lopez with me---

A Doctor will be here in May  to assess Himself--see if we could be doing something for him , to help him get over the frustration and the anger-- We shall see if it really works out-- Usually it gets planned--then cancelled--and we just go on and on-with the man who I married not that person anymore---

-To-morrow morning I take Himself to an Ear nose and throat specialist at the hospital as Himself cannot stop coughing--since he had Covid last June-It somehow affected his throat--another problem that has developed-

-I dream that one day life will return to normal again--that Himself will once again be that caring person --but--- Probably  I just might have to search deeper -- look for him in different ways--  

So, life eh?--I guess one just goes with the flow--Do the best that you can-I certainly appreciate all of you-- all of your kind words---you do kinda stand me up, and keep me going--

--I must just get up and face the day--and maybe Himself, my Prince Charming,  will return--Maybe he is out there stuck in a tree or something---

-- now wouldn't it just be the best, if the guy he used to be , returned?---if there was a medicine--or a magic wand----One must always dream!---Perhaps one day we will not age-- --Deep thoughts ---

-Lord love a Duck!--  Ya jess never know --does one?---- It sure would be a dream come true!--- 

A Trip to France---

 We have 2 very ugly bananas left --and you know what that mens??--  IT"S BANANA DAY!--and, it is cold outside--light snow fell overnight-----AND_____

Son#2 is on his way back to Montreal--Yesterday however, he took you on a tour of  the highlights of Paris--France-- Of course, the first place he stopped at was a bakery around the corner from his hotel--He wanted to show you all the buttery delicious bakery items-

Then he was off to------(where else?) --to McDonald's of course---down a famous street--the Champ de Elysees--(probably the spelling is wrong here!)-and------ there it is--a McDonalds---

and--he found the Arc de Triumph --

so---- WE are back to normal---  little Lopez is over his  bathroom problems--=and his  temper troubles-

-I hope that your day will be great!-and---that you will believe in yourself---some days seem impossible--- but--when you tackle whatever--head on ---it is amazing  what "you " can accomplish-Just look at what an 80yr old , old woman did--- survived looking after 4 dogs , for 4 days-and we ALL were just fine!

The Law of Nature

 Good Day to all!----I woke up to snow falling here---  SNOW----  and it is almost MAY---   The weather man was saying that the weird  weather (I want to say "the crappy weather" ) is stuck in a holding pattern--

The "Doggie Day Care" is now closed-- the 2 visitors have gone home----  and it is very quiet here---  I must admit, that I love it!--The 2 visitors were extremely good canines---  I know that  LOLA missed her Mom a lot---

The computer guy is going to come , May 5th-I had to change the date, as Lopez is having "the bathroom runs"---AGAIN--- woke me up twice in the night--  He is a good little guy to get me up--but---  as all that has returned----I believe he must need some kind of antibiotic-I am going down town as soon as I can, to pick up the medicine---

Thank you, to all who are sending a card to my older brother in the home---  I know that he will appreciate it!-- --AND----Son #2, the Pilot, is now in Paris . France-He sent tis picture of the Dreamliner, sitting on the runway in Montreal, loading up to go--It certainly looks like a beautiful plane--He said  they were "Full, Full, Full"-- 

-I read the below ---and isn't it so true?---  We will never live like we used to--The pandemic has changed our lives forever--and climate change hangs over our heads-- Do any of you wear a mask still?---I do---but------  I sometimes forget to put it on--and I never ever used to forget--

I hope our day is perfectly splendid-- --don't forget that you are a unique person---that you really can do more than you ever thought you could----help others get thru their day--- I know that you will!

Greeting from the "Doggie Day Care"----  the parents of the visiting canines are getting ready to return home I hear!

The above is a picture of Lola --who misses her Mom very much--is not eating very well---  and Lopez gets very snarly when I have time to pick her up to cuddle her--

 -Speaking of Lopez, he is extremely snarly since all the canine cousins have moved in----So, hopefully life will return to normal  by this evening. The  "Canine Cousins" will go home to their Mom and Dad--

I continue to talk to my older brother --and he is happy- loving the place in fact-- The staff are very  pleasant  when I call there and I hear his son has been over to get him out into the real world , for a meal--So far, his phone is not connected--Some of you said yu would send him a "hello card"-- I know he would like that.----

So, yesterday, the ol' "I Mac " decided to act up as I was downloading a picture-- I called "Apple care" who said I probably had too many pictures on here and suggested I get them onto another hard drive- -SO__- tomorrow a computer guy will be here to help me do that--Don't yu just hate it when the computer begins to act up?--I really need a more powerful I Mac---which is not going to happen till we move--The guy below is me, when I cannot do something--  the Kindle  is another problem sometimes--and my life would not go well without that Kindle--

so---- doggie day care --(That is here)-- must sign off  and get this body into action--all doggies have been out--  but little Lola needs a cuddle-- and the vacuum man (who is really Himself)-must get moving--

Lord love a Duck! -"There is no rest for the wicked"--(Mom's expression for sure!)

-------The key for this day is to---- BE STRONG---- plough ahead--Never give up--- Smile--WE  only can be sure of "To-day"--

It is SUNDAY--- a day to relax!

 It's SUNDAY--- a day to relax---  let loose-- forget the doggie hairs floating around-- think of  the brain cells which are screaming to let loose--Turn up the radio----and dance like a loose goose-shake yer body--

--and now I shall give you the "Doggie Report"-- Everything seems OK  at the present time-have not heard when the parents of the 2 visiting doggies are returning--hopefully to-day--but, if not, to-morrow-

- Mr. Lopez, the wee Chihuahua with big time attitude has not had anymore  loose bathroom stuff---  but--has not eaten his boiled  rice with chicken this -aM-----seems OK tho---  Apollo, the other visiting canine with the heart problem had no coughing fits this AM--so no pill was given to him---and big Beau, is just "Hunky Dory" as Grampa Wallace used to say--OH_---  Lordy Be! Then, there is  the cat-- Sushi---  who, of course is lounging upstairs away from all the chaos on the main floor---It sounds like I am running an "Old Age -LT Care facility for pets--  I feel like I am too!

This is LOLA --  the visiting Chihuahua-- and Lopez who we keep on a loose leash so I can grab him when his attitude leaves a lot to be desired!

The wash is in, our bed is changed--  and hopefully the day will be great---both here, and in your neck of the woods--I try on a Sunday to not watch too much CBC--or CNN---I try to relax the mind--- get rid of all the "worry cells"--- pretend the world is unfolding the way it should-- that everything will fall in it's right place eventually--

I hope that you make  this day the best day ever---If we decide to do this, IT WILL BE--You really are braver than you know, and stronger then you seem and, smarter than you think! --I need to repeat that several times, everyday, you know! 

Another day--another dollar--

 There yu go!----   So, do have a miraculous day.----  Really----This probably happens every day--- the good Lord takes over--but, we aren't aware of it--LOL--

It has been quite a night-- Wee little Lopez, who sleeps in his crate beside my bed, began to whimper at 2am--I looked down, and he was sitting up--I covered him up---and patted his back, and said, "Now go to sleep"-----but---  within a minute, there he was whimpering again--so---- I got up, picked him up, took the other 3 dogs, and out on the front lawn we went--me in my night gown--and he had diarrhea-- like a lot--- and he is a tiny fellow--I found out this morning that Himself was mixing beef in with his kibble- all day yesterday----  He cannot tolerate beef-- 

3am--it all happened  again--then 5am------  so--not much sleep for me--- and it is Saturday , no vet office open-- -- Lopez  has had one more episode this morning so far--

This was our living room this morning--  kinda cute--- everyone in their beds-- Lopez in our bed-- to-day is a new day ---  Hopefully the good lord will work his magic and make every canine well ---this am---He said  he will  be handling all our problems to-day-- --

--even tho there is a million things to do--- I am alive--to breathe--to think--to enjoy--to love----so true isn't it?-- Sometimes one has to take a big breathe and  think of that--

We have company coming soon--- to stay with us for the weekend-- Lola and Apollo . who are son #3's-- 2 dogs-They are old---and very good dogs--  It will be good for Lopez who has "big attitude"-Lola will put him in his place--Lola is another Chihuahua--an apple head Chihuahua--with big attitude also, but does not show it unless necessary--Big  Beau is terrified of her--We had his dogs , not too long ago, and all went well--Someone in his wife's family has passed and they are heading off to where these people live, to support their family members---Good thing we are used to dog hair floating around eh?- We have 4 vacuums, so it will not be a problem--(Vaccuming has always been a big thing , in my life!--LOL)

This wee fellow IS the problem at times--He believes that he "rules the roost" as Mom used to say--I believe his huge attitude is becoming calmer, but it has taken a couple of years to convince him that I am the boss! 

That is me  above--I AM 80 years old!  I have no idea how I ever got to be this old-- It seems like yesterday I was  7 yrs old, walking home from school, and admiring  other people passing by--Lord love a Duck!-- I just cannot get any older---  I really must stop all of that-- and remain  ageless !--

Now my poor brother called me last evening---AND HE NOW HAS DECIDED TO STAY IN THE LT Care HOME-- Apparently yesterday the residents were entertained in their Lodge with a movie, which he thought was pretty nifty-- then, while eating lunch, an orchestra came in and played for them--and he loves the meals- -- I truly believe the staff there have sorted out his medications , and he has become  a lot better!-  Now isn't that just the best?--Some of you told ,me this would happen! 

My younger sister sent me the above---  We bought bananas yesterday ---I do love the above--Bananas are the best!

I hope your day will be special--MAKE IT SPECIAL--no matter what!---If you are over 80 years, you might know everything-- so good to  know--hard to remember it all tho--don't you agree?--- --just--- don't let the idiots get yu down---
