Make To-day Amazing!

To-day WILL be a great day---  I am telling myself this--  --because I shall make it a great day--no matter what--
Yesterday was "hair day'--and--just to get out and in town, and talk to other  people, was fabulous--lots of normal people- in town--LOL--
To-day , himself is going to the hospital to see an ENT Doctor--- who might tell us why he is not able to talk properly-- It seems that after he had Covid last June, his vocal cords  were never the same--I hope she has some ideas on how to correct  this--

There is NO SNOW FALLING--YEAH!---- and everyday I try to get  out and do some raking--after the worst winter ever.  Our grass looks like it has been marched over by herds of  animals-- When I get back home this morning,  I can take another area  of lawn--and try to bring it back to normal--

I read all your comments last night-- always enjoy hearing from you all--

--And---  it seems like you all do tell yourself ----that "You can Do This"-------Only 2 more days-- and it will be MAY--- and for sure it will warm up in May-- the month that we dance around that May pole-and hopefully those Hummingbirds will return to the North--

i shall talk to you all later--let you know how Himself makes out--I must make sure he is wearing socks to-day--

AND-----always remember to---

  1. Yrs, check that himself is wearing socks lol. Lordy lordy all the things we women handle. Hoping you get some answers from ENT visit.
May is just around the corner so it HAS to warm up soon.
You look so pretty after your hair visit. I know it helps you feel better plus being around other people to talk to. Happy you can pamper yourself a wee bit.
Have a great day. Dont work too hard outside.

  2. I am starting my day off with happy thoughts that you will get some answers for Himself that will help him speak better. It is starting to look like spring here with the trees showing green buds and the forsythia bushes in bloom with bright yellow flowers. I hope you will see the same very soon. Take care and enjoy your day.

  6. I started the day with a brisk walk to the letterbox and then to the end of the drive and back. It's not nearly as long as your driveway but for me it's a good start to getting my step count in and making my day a happy one. I did a lot more today housekeeping wise and this makes 2 days in a row without needing a nap! I'm seeing some improvement finally! I really hope they're able to find out about Himself's vocal cords. I had polyps on mine twice in my life and the surgery to remove them was pretty straight forward. The last time I went for a year without knowing about the polyps because I just assumed it was me being stressed causing me to lose my voice. And sometimes it could be the type of growth they can spray and remove right on the spot. Here's hoping if he does have anything the solution is simple. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed it's an easy visit and they'll get to the source of the problem easily! Stay strong and I'm sending love and hugs!

    1. Good for yu to get out there and walk. It does make a person happier! It is nice that yu finally are feeling better----The ENT Doctor found his left vocal cord is paralysed from when he had Covid last June-Because of his age ,she cannot give him a general anaesthetic but can freeze his throat and glue it so that cord will close--Now it is open all the time so his voice is different plusn he loses oxygen-- Now who would ever think that could happen- Thank yu so much for thinking of us--I felt yer vibes-- HUgs my dear friend-Lynda

Wonderful that no snow falling. It’ll take time for the grass to come back. But it will.

  8. You are beautiful, Lynda! Cold and rainy day here in Ohio. Rain for several days it looks like but better than snow for sure. I hope himself has a good appointment today and gets some answers. I had long covid with neuropathy that was SO painful for many months. I think that is why I still wear my mask because it was so bad that I never want it again! Does he have to take his shoes off there, too? lol Have a wonderful Friday!

    1. LOL--No--He kept his shoes on--AND he wore socks--The Dr was SO SO good with him--- a really zippy nice young Lady--She looked in a long tube which he put in his nose --said his left vocal cord was paralized-- does not close-- always open-- She said it is the result of the covid last June-and she was amazed that he hasn't developed pneumonia as aspirating the mucous-- so-- She can fix it--here--in the OR--- no general-anesthetic --but will put glue on the vocal cord to put it in place-with a local anesthetic due to his age---We will hear from her office when this will be done-- Praise the good Lord eh?--- She also said the Covid damaged the nerve--Most times it comes back--but because of his age (94) it hasn't and wont now--Yu had Long Covid--I am like you niow--always masked up-Lynda

    2. I am so glad they found the problem and have a plan in place to take care of it. I do wonder when we will be considered in an endemic. I do know that Cleveland Clinic stopped requiring masking on April 20 but still recommend it. Maybe your daughter and husband may be able to tell us what time frame we may be looking at as far as masking. I know they say covid will always be around but I hope there will be a time we can stop masking. Sorta like the flu is always around but we never masked before. Let me know if they know any info for us. lol

  9. Love the fairy godmother! We all need those. And have faith, trust your maker and intuition....YES, YES, YES. And think of the positive side of things. Like, it will be ok if Himself forgets his socks. Maybe his cold feet will help him remember in the future.
No snow here, and a couple degrees warmer every day. It is cloudy with a chance of rain. The moisture is surely needed.
Have laundry in, made a dental appointment, trying to get my daughter to answer my message...Later will be exercise.
There are always things to keep ourselves busy. That's what makes life interesting...and getting out to talk to 'normal' people! ;-) The only question is...what are normal people? Things have changed the last couple years and continue to change as we grow older.
It's a fact. We just gotta deal with it and, as you say, trust.
Can't wait to find out about Himself's appointment.
Don't work too hard outside. Allow yourself some Lynda time.

  10. Yesterday's attempt at commenting was a fiasco!
I originally said...how about Zorro, the Rifleman, Have Gun Will Travel, Little House on the Prairie and that one with the father and his 3 grown sons...can't remember the name. Shows I've been addicted to? Now Heartland, Station 19 and Grey's Anatomy. In the past...Saint Elsewhere, Golden Girls, I Love Lucy, the old game shows...
forget what else I was gonna say.
    The next time if I copy a post I was making, tell the system to delete the post, try to past the post again and add a comment to it, I will remember it doesn't happen as I think it will. Cheers! {{{HUGS}}}

  11. It has been a really nice Spring day here in NH . . .the never ending rain is suppose to start tomorrow so I took the opportunity to fertilize the lawn. Tomorrow before the rain starts I am going to try and get the grub killer applied. We have had so many grubs that it is killing the lawn. I also planted some pansies and trimmed the roses back. We don't have leaves to rake here thank goodness . . .so I can do all the other tasks.
Hope himself made out ok at the ENT. I understand what you mean about getting out. It is nice to have someone besides your spouse to talk to.

We FINALLY have sunshine and it got up to 60-ish --I raked a lot as rain is expected here too-- Himself did well at the Hospital--She found his left vocal cord is frozen open due to nerve damage when he had Covid last fall-- She was amazed that he didn't get Peunamonia (sp?) due to aspiration of something into lungs-- She can correct it and will in the OR --Lynda

  14. It's Kathy. I'm glad you got out to get your hair done. My mom went every Thursday to her hair dresser no matter what. She drove through rain storms, snow storms, and any other bad weather but she would never miss her Hair-do day! I hope the ENT can help himself. No snow is a wonderful thing. We've had rain for the past 2 days but no snow! Something to be celebrated!

  15. You must be so relieved that the ENT doc found Himself's problem and can correct it! And I worked outside today as you did - felt good to get some yard work done. I raked leaves that were around the base of my deck and found lots of ants! Yuk! Hopefully by removing the leaves, they won't stick around and try to get into my house! Loved reading all the comments from your followers....you are blessed with lots of friends who care about you including me)!
