-So---I hear the dryer- whirling around----Lopez and I are up---and I can now feel the heat--feels good-
So, you must be wondering why I was not here yesterday--It was because I am going to travel back to "LakeField", close to where Fred and I used to live, and try out what life would be like, living in "The Regency"--a home for Seniors with all the amenities--meals in a dining room with other Seniors-- a suite of your own, exercise programs, various trips shopping etc--As you have guessed,--expensive--but, I would not be as lonely as I feel here.-I am heading there to try it out for a few days---sorta soon---Son#2 will come for Lopez and I, and poor Sushi will be left here for Son#4 to feed--I will let you know when all this is about to happen. Will I like it better than here?--I do not know till I try it-I do love my little town house here---- Maybe it will be like that "Hokey Pokey " clinic--and then I really CAN turn my life around--
Who knows till we try something eh?? "Words of Wisdom" (They always help eh?)

I must get moving--Remember --"be your own best friend,"---and then yu will never be lonely--"Do not be ashamed to fail "-- Being totally alone at times can be very healthy---and happy is the person with a hobby---and, ---if you live fearing death, then you do not really live! So, get out there and face this day---and enjoy what you have to do--(sez me)--LOLOL
Get out and be proud--
Good morning Lynda, well I guess that's the best way to find out if you like living amongst other people. Better than just moving in and discovering it's not for you. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteMaureen from California
Well Maureen I shall try it--at quite an expense--It has FINALLY warmed up here--nice--Lynda
DeleteI for sure wilL let yu know just how I make out-Lynda
DeleteGood morning, sis.
ReplyDeleteYes, we did miss you. I figured you were doing something important.
Love the blasts. Yes, I can see a couple parents amongst all those kids!
I have been thinking about assisted living (what we call that kind of home), too. We'll see. Here you can get support to help pay for it if you're low income.
Love the words of wisdom.
I am 90% from the British Isles...Ireland, Scotland and Ireland. I love that symbol. I always decorate for St Patrick's day and tell people, "Top o' the morning to ya."
I have chores today, as always and it's cold, too. They have turned our boilers (we have hot water heat) off for the season. I watched tv last night with lots of clothes on (including a jacket and hat). It's spring outside, but the temp doesn't show it yet. And that wind is so cold!
I hope you like the facility you're visiting. You would have less stress. Can Lopez and Sushi come with you? {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
I missed you also--tried to make up for it to-day--no financial support for assisted living here but I know I will like the company--Lynda
DeleteYes Sushi and Lop[ez will come with me-It's cold here also Maggie-----Hugs, Lynda
DeleteRD in AZ here
ReplyDeleteI am quite surprised that Elliot Lake does not have the same type of place that you are looking into then you could stay in Elliot Lake and have people near by and all the other good things that go with the community that you are looking at
Quote of the day
Life is a mirror and will reflect back to the thinker what he thinks into it.
Ernest Holmes
Yes they do have a couple of places like the one I
Deleteam going to look At--but not as much going on on the building here--Anyway, I may not like it--will; have to try it out--Lynda
Hard to keep moving however-- Maybe I just will not like it--have to go and look-Lynda
DeleteMorning Lynda,
ReplyDeleteHow cool for Son#2 to fly to Scotland. That is on my bucket list to visit. I would love to go there and Ireland too. Well, maybe one of these days.
Wow, you might have another big move in your future. It's good that it's a "try it before you buy it" kind of situation. It might be a good place for you to go and have some social company. I also saw where you told Maggie you can take Lopez and Sushi which is wonderful. I would hate for you to have to rehome them.
Keep us posted!
Have a beautiful day!
Hugs,
Jackie
No Jackie--I would stay here rather than re-home a pet--jut too hard on them--Anyway, it will be hard to return to where Fred was so happy--He loved Lakefield----- but--I shall return here anyway-- Lynda
DeleteBut I will not take the computer--so there will be about 3 days I will not be blogging-- Sob sob-Lynda
DeleteMatt sure is enjoying hIS time in Scotland--LOL--Lynda
DeleteI never thought of that, trying it out. That is a GREAT idea! If people were more my age and not geriatric/have dementia, I too would move into such a place if I could afford it. On weekends, I sure do get mighty lonely here, hardly ever see a soul! It'd be great to go do daily exercises together and meals and activities.
ReplyDeleteMarti
Oh Marti-- Yu can come with me--LOL--Now wouldn't that be fun??--LOL--- Yes I can try it out--for a price of course-- but before I make a move, it will be nice to know that it will; be a good move-- a dining room-- where yu eat with people--a gym,, a movie theatre-- a van to drive yu places to shop etc--Maybe I won't be so lonesome--and they allow pets--Everyone has their own apartment-- various sizes--=-== I will try it out--for a few days-- Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda, It's really great that you can try it out for awhile before you make a commitment. I always enjoy seeing the pictures of the family Have a great May weekend. I see the King is visiting Canada. Maybe he'll visit nearby. Donna_cps2 IL
ReplyDeleteOh Donna--I hope I will like the place--It will be so nice to eat with reAl people--I do love my townhouse here, but it sure is lonely--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda! It is 43 in OH with a freeze warning. I missed you yesterday. I know you are busy. I love that you can “try before you buy” the suite! A great way to make the best decision. Happy Saturday! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh so so good to hear from yu-- I do get so lonely here, (The kids do not visit)---but--I shall try this new p[ace --a trial run-- Geepers eh?-- tough to lose your husband-- Yu never get over it--Lynda
DeleteIt is slowly warming up here--Lynda
DeleteYou could always move near me and be 40 minutes from Allison. We would eat ice cream. LOL
DeleteI hope that when you're there to try it on for size, you will be able to actually think about how it would be to actually live there. From what I know of you, you are the kind of person who will thrive in that environment, with freedom from cooking and cleaning, knowing that people are looking out for you 24/7, being able to engage with other people and have some fun with activities that don't involve you making the effort to get in the car and drive somewhere to enjoy them. You've been budgeting and saving your entire life and taking care of everyone else; it's time to take care of YOU! Now is the time to spend some of those savings. Please lose the "for a price" and "it'll cost me" and "it's expensive" thinking. Yep, that's true, but here's one of those sayings like the ones you post: "You get what you pay for." The benefits that come with that price may just be worth it. I think your children won't be worrying as much if they know you're engaged and eating healthy food and not driving on slick roads in the winter.

Good for you for trying it out!
