I never thought getting old would happen so fast---

Good Morning-- To-day is Saturday, June13th-not too cold in here--kinda a tad hot----I just turned on the AC--So, Lopez and I are up--Sushi not yet-----and yes, I do feel "older than old" this AM--  want to go back to bed--but--  pets need to be fed--bed needs to be made--wash needs to be started--Oh--there is a long list--I guess all these chores must be good for me--  maybe reminds me that I'm not quite "over the hill"-there are still chores --altho the children have "flown the coup"-just the dog and the cat left at home--
--So-The cat is now fed-- And Lopez and I must line up my 60O,000 pills-(the chores that  "older" people have to go thru to survive!)-

Above--  my little yard--which I am still working on--but everyday, it improves--The flower bed in the back needs more additions--more plants-- more water--more love--a lot more of everything-
Lopez and I must  "hoof" it up the road--before all the other dog walkers are out there--we did--we had to follow another dog walker which Lopez continued to bark at--Oh the joys of living in a village where most of us are Seniors and we all walk our dogs early each morning--So---

Words I wish I had written-
#1. An intelligent person is one who knows when to keep his mouth shut--
#2.Keep your desk neat.
#3.Make choices out of love.
#4.Listen much and speak little.
#5. Smile

Holy Cow--Time to get off of here and on with our day--Hold your head up high--Use common sense to rule your life-look up, not down--and remember that everyday should be a new experience--Now go-get offa here-- and make to-day  your best day ever!

  2. Good morning Lynda,
Storms coming in this morning and severe storms this evening. At least its cooler and less muggy.
Your yard is coming along nicely. I like the daisy on the tree. Cute. I forget that your growing season is way behind ours. The annuals and perennials are about ready to go on sale/clearance down here.
I really love the words of wisdom. So much truth in those.
    Biggie, the cat, love him.
Getting older sure did happen quick. Im reminded of that as I have a birthday coming up July 2nd...80. How'd that happen? Blessed to be healthy and do what I want and need to do. Since my himself passed March 1st my life is very different. Doing the best I can. Housework , laundry and errands await.
    Have a great day.

  4. Morning Lynda,
Your backyard looks nice and cozy. I am sure you will have flowers growing and looking lovely in no time.
It's going to be another hot one here today. It's going to be about 86F and sunny. Cooler temperatures tomorrow with some rain.
We just had a tree trimmer cut down some dead tree limbs. That was a little loud but it needed done and he got it done pretty quick.

Already have my laundry and dusting done. I have one more thing on my to do list, then I hope to chill the rest of the day. We'll see.

    Enjoy your day!
    Hugs,

  5. Hey Lynda, any advice for attracting hummingbirds? I hung my first EVER feeder last weekend, dutifully put pre-mixed sugar water (dye free) in it, and waited. NOTHING! It's on a small hook, tucked away, in front of my condo by my office/guest bedroom window. The dog likes to lay on the hammock in there and look out, and I can sit there from my computer and look at it, but the level has not gone down and not a thing has happened. It's a cheap plastic feeder my neighbor bought for me for my b-day. It's red. Seems I've done everything right, but no hummingbirds. I'm disappointed. I guess I should go out and replace the mixture, but such a waste! Perhaps I will try moving it, as well, but I wanna put it where I can see it, and every place near a window is also a place the dog can lay from inside and look out, and he would probably bark.

Well, have a good day. We have a nice sunny day of about 85 here, and I am up and at her. So to speak.I am doing the bed linens, and nothing else is on the menu at the moment.

    1. I would suggest making your own nectar. It's 4 parts water to 1 part sugar. Add the sugar to water that has boiled, stir until it is clear and allow to cool.

    2. Plus I try to hang the feeders near some flowers-or over the flower garden if it is near a window---Lynda

  6. Good morning, sis! it's a lovely day here, but cooler. It will only reach about 72F.

I have already accomplished a couple small chores (like taking my 6000 pills) and plan to do more.

The blasts are great! Wonder where you were when the photo was taken of you, your sibs and friends. It's always a pleasure to look on Fred and all the grandkids.

The Veterans Administration is sending me freebies 2 of which I really don't need: a transfer bench to get in the tub easier, a raised toilet seat and a 'life alert' necklace. No more appts for awile, except I need to reschedule my PT video appt.

I will get offa here now, too. Let's all make ourselves a great day by thinking happy thoughts, singing or playing music (how is your piano?) and finding thinks that make us happy. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie (this time I will remember to 'publish')

  7. It's Kathy. Your backyard looks so cozy. Mine is out of control - no one has taken care of it in years. My husband just mows the weeds. I was out this morning finishing getting all the weeds out of the big garden - but weeds have grown in the part I did before the heat wave. So I'll have to touch that up, Loosen the dirt. Add the dirt from the bags so I can plant the grass seed. I've been trying to get that done for about 3 years now;. My plan is to get it done before the next week ends. Then I'll have to start on another section! Love seeing all your happy grandchildren and photos of himself! Yes, sometimes I feel older than old - but we must keep on keeping on! Have a good day.

  8. I like your little yard! I bet Lopez likes it too! When I saw the picture of you with Hannah and Biggie the cat on your lap, it made me think that you and Hannah have matching smiles and that made me smile! You all looked so cute and happy! I am thinking all of our chores and routines are what keep us young! I would much rather be busy than sitting around with nothing to do, searching for something to read or watch on tv or on the computer, and basically feeling sorry for myself! I have a friend who is always complaining that I am so busy that I don't have time for her - but the truth of the matter is that she has nothing in her life to keep her from feeling lonesome and isolated! So I am looking at all those daily routines as the things that keep us moving and healthy!
