Keep calm and pretend everything is OK-

Monday. June 8th--is to-day--with sunshine--sorta nice temperature--The poor washer is chugging away--I finally changed the bed this AM also--had put it off for an extra week--but--it is done now, and in the wash machine--Yeah-!!!--

--Lopez and Sushi and I are all up here--Son#2 just texted me to tell me to not run the AC and the heat at the same time. Now why on earth would I ever do that?--I think, when one is over 70 years, (and I am for sure!)--the kids think all your brain power has been depleted and they have to make sure you can continue on safely , so all these instructions are sent my way---I know they mean well, so I pretend I never get their messages---Anyway---

                            Below--  Words I wish I had written--\

#1.It is never foolish to forgive

#2.If you've  lost your sense of humour, find it fast

#3.To know when you've had enough is to be rich

#4.Age does not have to be the brake of life.

                    and---Blasts from the past

                above--  Ethan, Charlee, and Ava--(Cousins)

Wow!---  All of us--- and that is a lot of people

                    Above--Ethan , Andie -with Son #3, Phillip

Above---Andie, Ava, Andrew (standing)-Ethan-end of table, Emma and Charlee

                                above--Fred with Jacob

above--  Son#2's 2 children, Hannah and Helena

Time to get on with our day--Remember to love what is inside you-and the most wasted days are those in which we have not laughed--forgive your friends, and remember, things turn out the best for people who make the best of the way things turn out--You think?--

Now get off of here, and get on with your day--

  1. Good morning, Lynda! It is high 86 in Ohio. I am going out after I finish coffee to do yard work early. I don’t think you will need to run heat now will you? My son doesn’t tell me what to do, yet! He may when I am older. For right now, my two yorkies try to. LOL! Enjoy your day! Hugs!

  3. Good morning, sis.

It's mostly cloudy here and 71F. It will reach the low 80s by mid afternoon. We had thunderstorms last night.

So many wonderful photos! On that one of 'all of us'...I believe I counted 21!

I have to change my bed and do some washing, too.

Charlie Chaplin said, "A day without laughter is a day wasted." I collect quotes...must have close to 1000...on my FB, in files on my hard drive, etc. Oh, and in notebooks hand written.

Okay, Lynda, my friend...I will get offa here and get big things done today. And come back this evening, of course. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  4. Morning Lynda!
I am sure he meant well. I sometimes remind my Mom about stuff. Sometimes, she appreciates it other times, not so much.
It's going to be off and on rain all week here but with high temperatures and humidity. We will definitely be running the A/C and not the furnace. LOL.
I am going to get to the grocery store here soon before it does start raining.
    Great pictures as always!
    Happy Monday!

  5. Hello, sounds like a nice day is brewing there!

Is'nt life frustrating at times? I bought two patio chairs on Saturday, brought them home all loosey goosy with the back door hanging open because they didn't really fit in the car properly, set them down, and one of them is uneven, I had to put coasters under the legs. They were the last two that Walmart had. I tried to place an order online for delivery of another one, from a different store, only it didn't come, they said out of stock. So now I am stuck with a wobbly chair, LOL.

That night, I played a VR video game where you box, for some exercise, and then the next morning I woke up with terrible pain in my right hip and leg - tendonitis or bursitis. I could hardly walk all day long, so I mostly stayed in bed and took Advil.

Frustrating! I have today off from work, having put off the laundry and grocery shopping yesterday, but now I gotta go do it, pain or no pain.

  6. Hi Lynda
Don't run heat and AC at the same time lol. At least your kids check on you and think of you. Thats a blessing.
Sprinkles in St.Louis....very hot and muggy. Its rain but not enough to help the dry conditions. Definitely need AC as humidity is very high. Weather reports are back to talking heat indexes and feels like temps.
I like the words of wisdom. My favorites along with quotes.
    Have a great day..Marge. St.Louis

  9. I had an "older person" wake-up call last week. Out of the blue, my facial person (who I've been seeing for seven years) wanted to walk me to the restroom to ensure I wouldn't slip, wanted to hold onto me as I was going down THREE stairs (never mind I'm up and down stairs in my house all day), wanted me to know how much she loves her "senior" clients. Boy, did I feel like a frail old lady for the first time. It made me a little sad; I may not see myself as an old lady, but I guess the rest of the world does.

  10. It's Kathy. Yes, our children do tend to think we no longer know what we're doing. Although in come cases, with all the new technology, there could be some truth to that. We had rain overnight and now everything is wetter than wet. Took Daisy out this morning and she turned around and said "no thank you". I reminded her of what needed to be done and she reluctantly went back out to take care of business. I hope you have a good day today!

    1. H Kathy and Daisy--I do not blame Daisy for not wanting to do her business in the rain--YU were so good to remind her of what needed to be done-- WE do lead a crazy life today sorta--LOL--Lynda

  11. Hi Lynda, Matt is such a wonderful son, even if he sometimes gives you advice that you don't need. He does look after your wellbeing, which is a gift. Some older people, even though they have children, never hear from them. Temperatures are going to start warming up this week, but not unbearably high. Indications are that we're going to have a very hot Summer in Southern California where I live. Thankfully I have A/C. I hope your day goes well.

  12. We had lots of rain and storms this morning...rain gauge shows 1 1/2 inches in about 3 hours. Sun is out now and temps are rising as well as the humidity. I am glad I got most of my yard work done yesterday! Have already been to my exercise class this morning and a book club luncheon....and now I feel lazy and don't seem to have the energy to get much done. The humidity is makes everything harder! I am thankful for whatever help my kids or grandkids give me! They rarely give me advice unless I ask for it. I am glad you have your morning routine and are not at the Regency....because staying busy is what is keeping us young and healthy!

  14. The blasts from the past are wonderful, as always.

For sure there are many days we just have to stay calm and pretend everything is ok. For sure, age does not have to be a brake on life!

Just chuckling at how true it is that when we’re over 70 the kids think we’re senile and need protecting! OY. Especially when it comes to things like finances. They forget, we have been responsible for our own finances for a VERY long time . . . certainly longer then they have been. LOL Ah, but at least they care, right!

    hugs and blessings
