Mirrors remind me of my Grandma.

To-day is Tuesday April 28th--Raining like a Banshee here this AM--The cleaning lady will be here soon,  plus I must be at the bank for  11am  ---Lots going on , on a very rainy day----So, guess what?----  I shall return--but not till almost noon-ish--In the meantime, I hope yu get up and -- "at-er"--Get the "Bull by the horns"--as Dad used to say

                                so---  Blasts from the past--below--

It looks like Emma and Ava--back row--Sophia  with Jacob, and Ethan             in middle--and Andie--one winter long ago

Below----the guy I married
                                    and there he is again--
                                and our dock --memories

and--There they are again, with Hannah in the back

                    Son#2, Jacob, Son#1 Allison and Son #3

                                            Memories---

Wise Words--wish I had written them!

#1.Everyone is an amateur at death

                #2. Chew everything 32 times

                #3.He who laughs, lasts-

So, back to the bank for my appointment--I hope that your day is going well--If it isn't so far, it probably will as you wake up--Remember, it is loving and giving, that make life worth living.--Sometimes, things that hurt, teach.  Live each day as if it were your last---and as it says above---he who laughs, lasts--

  1. Good morning, Lynda! It sounds like you have a busy day in yucky weather. I hate appointments in bad weather. It will be 70 but cloudy in Ohio. I hope you get everything done and can rest this afternoon. Not a lot planned here but need to get a few things done. We went for ice cream the other evening and thought of you. It had been many weeks sice we had went to our fave place. Have a great day! Stay dry! Don’t want you to melt! Hugs!

  2. Morning Lynda,
Sounds like we both have a busy day.
We had a lot of rain last night. Our rain gauge says 3 inches fell overnight. It's stopped but it's overcast and cooler today. More rain expected overnight tonight too.
Hope you have a good day!

    Hugs,
    Jackie

  3. It's Kathy. We had rain all day yesterday and it was kind of nice! I didn't have any place I had to go. Sunshine today! I hope your appointment at the bank goes well. Love all the photos. I'm off to Pilates this morning. I'm going to get Daisy out for another short walk this afternoon. She's been kind of lethargic the last couple of days. Have a good day.

  4. Good morning, sis.

It is sunny here for a change. I love it. It's 46F now but due to reach 56F.
My lilacs will bloom in a matter of a few days.

I am logged on to my VA website to do my video appointment with my physical therapist. Yesterday I had a similar appointment with my primary care doctor. This new technology is great.

I have a few small chores when the appointment is finished.

Love you blasts. So many beautiful grand kids...and himself! Looks like that dock brought a lot of fun for you all.

Banking. Ah, yes. I need to go sometime this week, too. I always get a cashier's check for my rent. That way I have a paper trail of what and when I paid.

I will check later to see if you've added anything. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  5. Hi Lynda, you've already had such a busy morning, and you've handled it well. I thought that once you found out you could keep your license, that you would decide to stay in Lake Elliott. Yes, you do have a lot to think about. It seems to me that you value your independence and moving to the Regency would mean giving up some of that. Matt would be nearby and Allison would be closer, but you wouldn't see much of your grandchildren. Oh well, enough said on that topic. I hope the remainder of your day goes well, despite the rain.

  6. Such as exciting morning - the mama duck I've had under my bush in front of my condo has had her ducklings, 11 of them, and I got to see and photograph them before she took off - about 9:00 AM this morning, but the time I had to get in my car and leave for work, they were walking across the back lawn to cross the very busy 45 mph street across the way, where there is a lake. Some neighbors were watching, I hope one of them went with her to see that she got safely across with them, they were just so precious. I've never gotten to see something like that, up close and personal. Very special! I will miss her, but such is the circle of life! Maybe she will nest again there next year, one can hope. :)

I hope that your day was a good one, and productive, it sounds like it will be, or was, anyway!

  7. Oh, and I am kind of sorry that you are not moving, where you would not be lonely, not have to drive, and have things to do, and/but I think another year at your place is wise. You now know the "lay of the land" and what will be necessary to do in winters, and you have it all set it up the way that you want it. You will just have to go out more, volunteer, and find a way not to be lonely anymore. That comes with time! :)

And here's the sad thing when I put my mom in assisted living - they all had memory problems/light dementia, and no one sat at meals and talked, they were all in their own little worlds, so she didn't really have anyone to converse with except the aides. They did need to be able to walk down the hall to get to the dining room, but that was all that was necessary, and had to be able to toilet themselves. She got so that she was unable to do that eventually, and went downhill fast, and that was that.

  9. We had rain and tornado warnings all day yesterday - I got 19 emergency calls saying to go to a safe place as there were either severe thunderstorms with hail and damaging winds or tornados in my area! Whew! Lots of rain....so glad that we got to see some sunshine today! And I think it's great that you are keeping busy! My favorite line in the Reminders was about Pets showing you how much you are needed! So true! They need us, but they also show us love and comfort!
