So, yesterday Son#1's wife, and I went to the place where they give driving tests--The man working there was ever so nice--told me that I must get my Dr. and soon too, to inform the Ministry of all the moves I have had--Three moves in a short space of time, plus my husband dying--and as he said, that would make anyone lose their memory--and my Dr should inform the ministry-- He really was a good man-- But, nothing is happening --- still!---

I do not know why they do this to me either-The man from the ministry told me I had a good driving record-He was so nice----never had an accident-- It's the Xr who started all this--Lynda

DeleteHappy Thursday Lynda,
ReplyDeleteWell hopefully all will be straightened out with your Drivers License soon. Nice that your Daughter in Law went with you. It's always good to have a wing man or wing women with us when we have to navigate the complicated stuff, especially if it's complicated and a lot of info.
We have had rain this am but clearing off until this evening and then rain again. We are supposed to get to 80 F today. Then back down to the 50's in a few days. We are having weather whip lash. lol.
Wishing you a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Jackie
Wow Jackie-- Tht weather there is great!! --- Freezing rain preddcted here today--Lynda
DeleteHere's to the wonderful women sons pick to be our "extra daughters"! I'm always talking mine up, and here's yours, pulling good service duty!
ReplyDeleteHope it all gets sorted out soon, about the driving.
I just might have to move away--AGAIN--Lynda
DeleteIsn't that all so stupid Barb??-- so tired of it--Lynda
ReplyDeleteHi Lynda! It is going to be high 75 in Ohio. Jump on a plane and get over here away from that freezing rain. Ice cream is waiting. I hope your driving craziness gets sorted out. It must be so stressful. Enjoy your day! Big hugs!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Lynda, I'm wondering, is this something every elderly person has to go through to maintain a driver's license? Canada seems like a wonderful place to live, especially after what the US has become since the man occupying the White House has no idea what he is doing. However, I wouldn't want to have to go through all that you're going through. Hang in there, you're a strong woman. I hope your day goes well.
ReplyDeleteMaureen from California
Good morning, sis!
ReplyDeleteSo you didn't have that test yet? Bummer...just all that waiting.
Love the photos! That dock didn't sink. Lucky, I guess. And the cockpit! They had to learn about all those controls...WOW!
We have freezing rain, too. The temp is just at the freezing temp. We are under a 'winter weather advisory' today and tomorrow.
I'm wondering if you've told the kids about your thought of moving again...
I have plans, too, and better get to them. I'll be back later as usual. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie.
Hi Lynda
ReplyDeleteI sure hope your quest to retain your license ends soon. Such hoops you have to jump through. Im praying it all gets resolved SOON.
Where in the world would you move....and why?
Its raining and cool in St.Louis.
Have a good one.
Marge. St.Louis
It's Kathy. I just can't understand why your Doctor has so much authority over whether or not you can drive. My mom was 82 when my dad passed away (he did most of the driving for the last several years) and the day after her funeral she was off in her car! Her driving was fine. I also can't understand why your doctor doesn't understand that going through all you have gone through in the past year or so can affect your memory. Yet, you still come here every day and post interesting things! I do hope this gets straightened out soon!
ReplyDeleteHow awful that you didn't get to take the memory test again and be done with this whole driving dilemma! Soooo stressful. And I think moving again would be stressful for you also. When you move to an assisted living place, it is like renting a small apartment. You would have to get rid of the furniture that would not fit. You wouldn't be washing clothes everyday as you wouldn't have a washer and dryer in your apartment, possibly no room for your piano. I know you are lonely living alone, but I can tell you from my experience, I feel comfort when I look around and see my "stuff". I have found book clubs, senior senior club with bus trips, luncheons with former educators I have worked with, dinner with friends from church, etc. I also volunteer at an assisted living facility here in town twice a month. I just keep moving! Oh and I enjoy having dinner with my kids when they invite me.....and since I have this big house, I host dinners at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter! I don't get invited to their houses as much as I would like, but I know how busy they are with their kids and sports and school, etc. Please don't throw up your hands and say "oh woe is me". I think you are stronger and more capable than anyone I know! You probably wouldn't be able to go back living on your own after the move, even if you weren't happy. Find those friends that you had many years ago in your town and invite them to lunch....join the library book club....you will still grieve, but we can't go back....look forward. And finally, think about poor Lopez - will he adjust to a new place or will he be stressed out....and what will happen to Sushi? My cats are a pain in the behind, but I would not move somewhere where they could not go with me! Sorry for the rant. Just concerned about you!
ReplyDeleteHi, Lynda, I am bushed. It's 81 degrees here and I trotted out all my spring/summer decorations, including patio umbrella. I made sure not to disturb Mother Duck too much - I have a Mama To Be under my front bush along my sidewalk and by the driveway. Precarious place to be for a duck, but that's where she's made her nest.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, it will all turn out, you just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Don't you let that doctor tell you what to do, change docs if you have to. Who cares if the rest of the staff doesn't like it? Screw that, life's too short! LOL
I was gonna say something else, but I sure don't know what it was!
Marti
Well, glad that you had a good experience w/the man you interacted with @ the drivers license testing facility. At least that was positive. Good luck to you.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos from the past.
Neat photo from son #2’s cockpit.
LOVE your words of wisdom.
