quote for the day
A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.
George Bernard Shaw
Of course the quote is very good!!-Yes you ARE up early--nice!!--hard to get up early but we both did it-----I just walked Lopez--in the fog-and he did his business-- The fog is quite thick outside--maybe because of the piles of snow everywhere-- Good to hear from yu --Lynda
DeleteWonder if we will ever meet each other--Now that would be fun!!--Lynda
DeleteI like Bernard Shaw--so, of corse it is a good quote--LOL--Lynda

DeleteYes, life certainly changes when we lose our precious husbands....we have to learn to adapt to all kinds of things that we never had to do alone before. The loneliness is sometimes overwhelming, but I have learned that I just have to keep going - one foot in front of the other. Our grief sometimes overwhelms us, but we slowly learn to adapt to this fundamental change in our lives. Focusing on our blessings especially our kids and grandkids, and trying to look toward the future helps a lot! Sending you lots of love and hugs this morning! And I love your photos of your family! So wonderful that you have them and share them with all of us!
ReplyDeleteYes it truly is a learning experience--not an easy one either---and yes, the lonliness really is overwhelming--and yes, the grown children do help and the Grandkids--but--lotza lonliness still--and such a different life!-- Yes the old photos help also-- remembering how it uied to be--But, Sandra yu are doing it--so good--a good example--Thank yu for the reminders--Lynda
DeleteSandra I look up to yu--Yu are a survivor of losing a Husband--Lynda
Deleteoverwhelming for sure Sandra--but one foot min front of other and the days go by-- Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. I'm glad it's rain and not more snow. One more step to Spring! We are getting storms this afternoon, possible hail, possible tornados. I have a class at the gym at 4:30 pm but I'm not sure I'm going to take the chance! Tom and I are running some errands shortly so we're in once the rain and thunderstorms begin. I love the photo of the dog riding in the front seat and the cat watching out the window. My cat HATED going in the car for any reason, and Daisy will go with us but she lies down in the back seat facing the back. She doesn't want to see anyone! Also a very nice photo of Son #3's family, some of your grandchildren and, of course, Fred! I. hope you have a good day today!
ReplyDeleteOhh Kathy--so many memories eh??-- I hope your storm this afternoon is not too bad--Hugs to yu-Lynda
DeleteAnother memory test to-morrow-- Awful!!! ---plus summer tires going on car-- Phil is going to do it--Lynda
DeleteYes, sometimes we really don’t’ realize how much someone else does til they’re not there doing it. **SIGH**
ReplyDeleteWE are in for buckets of rain. Had downpours. This morning sun to heat up the atmosphere and tonight . . . storms. Under a flood watch, but we should be all right. Better than a bucket of snow.
DEFNITELY older age is a privilege and a victory! For sure, if our mind stays young our body follows suit.
Love the blasts from the past.
Have a wonderful Monday.
hugs and blessings

ReplyDeleteQuote for today
Be brave enough to live life creatively. The creative place where no one else has ever been.
Alan Alda
sorry the above is from RD in AZ and I forget to tell you it is raining here and not a nice soft rain the kind of rain that hits the ground hard
DeleteI'll tell you, retiring isn't all it's cracked up to be. I sat around the house morose for 11 years, afraid to go back out there due to circumstances at my old jobs, then husband passed and really realized that without work and seeing people and having a purpose, I was depressed as all heck. I work part-time now, and feel that that's the best that life can get!

And P.S., as hard as I work, volunteering wouldn't cut it for me. I demand a PAY check, darn it, LOL. I'm beat when I get home! Darned if I'm going to expend myself for no reason at all, even if it WERE to be for a good cause.
