BE THE PERSON YOUR DOG THINKS YOU ARE-

Good Morning--It is Wednesday, March 25th---

I am late posting--mainly because of yesterday--my  trip to Sudbury with Son #1--where I saw the Eye specialist who said my eyesight was perfect--  in fact told me I did not need glasses--That was after quite a bit of testing----but--  I like my glasses--like the tint on them which protects my eyes from the sun--so, of course I ordered new frames--with new lenses--which will take a few weeks to come in .---and to-morrow, I am supposed to see -my new Dr., --(who seems to be kind of making  my life difficult right now)--so---  I guess I have to just jump a few more hoops----memory tests etc--which are thrown at one, as one ages--That reminds me---

Words I wish I had written--#1. Beat failure with courage.

#2, There is always a way.

#3.See problems as teachers and opportunities for growth.

But---  I really want to yell and scream-"I CAN"---Ignoring facts does not change facts- There is always a way-----and everybody could be wrong about what is right for you--

Life goes on--and somehow, we adapt--

                                     Blasts from the Past-below--

So, remember how short time is, but, remember to live--that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel--and mistakes are opportunities to learn--and sometimes help comes from the strangest source--
Never put off saying, "I love you!"
It is good to be back--I hope your day is fabulous!

  3. Yea Lynda, way to go on the eye exam. Hopefully this new doctor will back off. Is he young? I ask because sometimes young doctors try to be extra vigilant in their early career. Have him talk to a family member and they can vouch for you that your memory is fine, it's just that you were a bit anxious when you took the memory test because driving is so important to you. Not only that, but you never drive a long distance, only about town or your sons' homes. I am praying for you that all will work in your favor.

    3. Lynda, the doctor has only seen you twice. Your son knows what you are capable of doing, driving being one of the things. i hope your son goes in with you, and have the doctor explain to him what he is concerned about as far as your memory. You are entitled to know.

    5. Great news about your eye test but your GP is only adhering to your Canadian legislation re drivers licence in your age group, if he/she does not follow the law, they would likely lose their registration to practice medicine. In most countries there are very strict rules for drivers. In Australia, it starts at age 70.

  4. That is fantastic news from the eye Dr.. Now to go back to the other one and jump and few more hoops (as aggravating as that is!). Your waying, beat failure w/courage is 100% true!

LOVE the photos. Fred would be so proud of you!

Keep on keepin’ on. You can do this.

  5. Hello from Sunny CA! So happy to be here with my young grandson who is unfortunately not feeling the best! He came down with a nasty cold virus the day before I arrived! He is feeling better today and drinking lots of orange juice, gatorade, water, and taking Mucinex. I am just hoping I don't catch the virus! Lots of handwashing going on too!

So happy to hear that you passed your vision tests! I'm sure it must make you feel so relieved that you have "jumped through another obstacle"! Here's hoping all goes well the "new" Dr. tomorrow! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!

  7. It's Kathy. Congratulations on the stellar eye report! I've had to wear glasses for so long that I can't remember when I didn't have them. But not I only need them for reading because of the cataract surgery so this time I will just get reading glasses. I really don't think it's your doctor who should get to decide whether or not you drive - you are a careful driver and from what I remember, you were the designated driver for years. I will say a prayer that tomorrow's doctor appointment goes well and that darn young man (because at our age - all the doctors are young!) understands that you are not done yet! Love the photo of you, himself and your children before they all got married and had children. I have a good photo of Tom and me with our children and I love remembering them at that time! Have a good rest of your day.

  8. Good afternoon, sis. I am glad I checked back for a new blog.

I am SO SO SO glad you found out your eyes are percfect! Hopefully the doc gave you printouts or something to prove that to the doc who wanted to stop you from driving!

Love the family photos. In the Christmas long ago one, I see no kids, but a little foot in a blue and white sock may be one.

Love your wishes. The one about never forgetting to say I love you ...that's a subject they're always writing country songs about.

Got a few chores done today. That's satisfying. Now I'm going to go outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. Sunshiny, mostly blue sky and warmer today. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
