You are older longer than you are younger--

Good Day--  It is "Canada's Birthday to-day--Wednesday, July the first--a holiday--  Everything is closed--I went to the Dollar Store and bought a couple of paper flags which I have outside, waving in the wind in the tree beside the road--I also bought a hat and a colourful Lei for around my neck---Fun to celebrate Canada's Birthday--and it looks also like to-day will be a "rainy day"--We also have mega heat--The AC is flying, upstairs--scorching record temps here--over 100 degrees in many places--

The washer is almost done here-- Lopez needs his walk--  Speaking of Lopez, he finally got his grooming , yesterday--had a bath----So----

Words I wish I had written_

#1.-It is better to be looked over, than  overlooked--

#2.A friend in need is a friend indeed.

#3. All you need to have fun is one good friend.

#4.One cannot feel happiness all of the time.

#5 Forgive yourself--

                                    Blasts from the past-

                                   above--Allison with Sophia

Allison, again, with Ethan and Andie

                        Below--Son #2, besideTim and Heather

                                and below--big "Beau"--

                                Son#3 with Alison's son

So. time to get on with the day---  maybe get Lopez out for his walk--providing it is not too hot-- maybe turn the AC up a tad--and  maybe  get the washing into the dryer--always something to do--

Remember, if you enjoy your life, your children will enjoy theirs--Try to enjoy a moment of solitude to-day--Look forward to better days ahead, and don't let being tired, stop yu----oh--and-----

                                BIG HUGS to you all--

  4. Happy Canada Day! Very high temps expected here today also. All 7 of my grandkids and their parents will be here for dinner tonight - cooking out on the grill burgers and brats and corn on the cob out on the grill. We are celebrating 4th of July early because my daughter's family is leaving before the holiday for a trip to the Exummas in the Bahamas. Anyway it will be a great day and I am sure almost everyone will be in the pool! We have little American flags all around our house too! My grandson from CA and I pounded holes in the hard ground with a spike and placed 16 flags around the front of the house! My grandson loved doing it even though we were both really sweating when we got done! Then we power washed my front porch and part of the driveway! Whew! Hope you have a great Canada Day!! Send us a selfie of you in your yard with your lei!

  5. Good morning, sis.

My comment didn't post yesterday. I discovered it late and reposted it. You didn't see it. Go back and read it, if you like. I answered your question from the day before.

Happy, happy Canada Day. The blasts are great. At least one looks like it was a Canada Day to-do. Tess and Beau were beautiful! I remember both from your blogs years ago. What will you do to celebrate (love the things you got at the Dollar Store)? Family get-together? Parade? Fireworks?

Re you words: Being tired is what gets me to not do as much as I planned. Sometimes the afternoon nap is too long! I got a great night's sleep though. Maybe I an avoid a nap today.

It's rainy here today, too, for most of the day. Thunder showers off and on, too.

Okay, Lynda. I'll get offa here, too, and be back later. Today I'll check every couple hours to be sure my comment is still here. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  7. It's Kathy. Happy Birthday to Canada! America is celebrating it's 250th birthday on Saturday. Lots of goings on but none of which I will be a part of. I'm happy to stay at home and maybe order a pizza! Love the photos today, seems like your family is often getting together and enjoying each other. I love that! It's hot here too and we had rain again overnight into the morning. They're predicting storms this afternoon/evening. It's rained every day since Sunday now! I think we could use a couple of dry days.; Have a great day.

  8. Hi Lynda
Happy Canada Day to you and all our Canadian friends.
Does Canada do cookouts and fireworks?
I love the words of wisdom. My favorites. I also enjoy the quotes from RD. In AZ
    Its absolutely miserable in St
Louis with the heat and humidity. Its fine if you have a pool or lake.
    Take care
