Get BACK UP!

 "Another day--another dollar-"----Mom used to say that! ---It isn't true today  really anymore---  more like--"Lose a Dollar"----- 

We have a rainy day  beginning--  Lopez and I did get out before the raindrops however--with no excitement on the back road .I have been back to Nappa--the outside store where I have purchased 546 Weed Whackers-- (Well, it seems like that many!)--The man there restrung 2 of them AGAIN, for me--It is loading the thing-getting the old string out--then reloading it properly--  which is a problem for me--

You know, I never remember Dad Weed Whacking--but--he did used to Sythe the hill at the cottage--I believe I have a picture of him doing that--

I never hear of a Sythe anymore ---- Our cottage was on a hill and of course in front , on the hill the tall grass would grow and Dad would Sythe it-- 

That is about "IT" for to-day---  I am hoping my brother will appear to-day or to-morrow from New Hampshire--  so I will get on with getting his room ready-

Thinking too much can only cause problems!

I know that most of us are not "Fathers"--- but--I do hope that your day is going well--  especially if you are a "Father"-

This is a picture of my Father, holding my young sister. I cannot think of too much that was wrong with my Dad--( well, maybe I could've survived easier if I hadda had more $$$  when I was living away from home, in Toronto, in my nursing   3 years---  but--I got by--)

  He was a good Dad---  When he and Mom retired , they moved to our small town , from Florida , and he took such good care of my Mom.----I thought all Dads were like him--

I have been out Weed Whacking  this morning-- it's a tough job---  Lopez and Beau helped me---  The wind has finally stopped-----  and I even see the sun--- 

So--will you?----live like someone left the gate open?--  Cows must have an easy life eh?--  There is something about them that intrigues me-- Do they think about "Humans"---  ?---  Seriously---  Have you even given this any thought?---- How long does a cow live?--  Do they like it out in the pasture?-- 

Anyway, enjoy this day--- We only get to live it once--Lord love a Duck! --( Maybe it's a good thing that we only live it once--because I really am thinking  now about cows)

 Lopez had his walk---  It's not as windy which is great. --BUT--Remember the other day, when I could hear an animal in the bush walking beside Lopez and I?-- Well, this morning I saw a fox , very close to Lopez and I, in the middle of the road , starring at us--  looking at Lopez, the wee Chihuahua , as breakfast. Lord love a Duck eh?--All I need is to  meet this fox in the morning--I will carry a big stick to-morrow--

This is a picture of a market in Seoul, Korea--taken by Son#2---perhaps equivalent to our McDonalds-LOL---- Son#2 is on his way back to Toronto right now---I am always happy to hear that.

I ended up cutting grass yesterday as Grandson, the "Grass Cutter" , is at a swim meet---That chore is so hard on me-- I did the front, the dog pen, and the septic side--It will be good when he returns---When I went to turn on the hoses, they would not work--  The pump for them is in the lake, and waves were rolling in very hard, due to the high winds--  altho--that poor pump is about 20 plus years old! It just may need to be replaced--  another expense for sure! 

Father's day to-morrow--I thought it was to-day-I had to ask Himself what day it was-every day is the same, doncha find? --

Are you happy to be home to-day?---Would you rather be in a Hotel somewhere?---  --just asking-- I do enjoy being home--always---  Is it just me, or do these feelings exist more as we age? 

In any event, enjoy the day--Sunday is always special----  I hope you will relax---  rest---  and be happy and content--

We have clouds--with intermittent sunshine and it's cooler--windy--so the wind blows the bugs away-  This morning Lopez, the Chihuahua,  and I , hoofed it up the road--I had to put his coat on him so he wouldn't get bitten with bugs---Out the gate------then down our newly resurfaced road--

 

He did his business--so---  back we went home---Yu can see my shadow--

I listened to the Finance Minister yesterday , as she was supposed to help Seniors out with the high cost of living--but--  It seems that she is not going to do much to help- Seniors are not working-- -- Oh well!---I guess we just have to "made do"----or----- maybe we ALL should get out there and get a job---

Son#2 the Pilot texted me early this morning--sent pics of food in Korea--Doesn't it look yummy?

It makes me hungry just looking at it!----

Lunch time here--- then a wee nap--then out into the garden--  OH--I used ALL the bananas I had left, in the banana bread which is in the oven right now--  Do you  find that a lot of bananas in to-day's world have weird black seeds in them?--What causes that? Sometimes I end up throwing the whole banana out-- 

Hugs--- I hope  your world is  happy to-day--Hug your dog and cat---song--dance--and be nice to a pilot if yu see one--It might be "son #2"-

People who love to eat are always the best people!

Look closely at the above picture-- There is an Airplane----a "cargo "plane --being loaded--and inside is son#2, the Pilot Son--You can wave at him . 

Himself woke me up at 3am--saying, ""Who on earth is calling you at 3am?"--Of course, I knew--so said, "You must know--It's Son#2, who is en route to-night to Korea-"---  Maybe Himself thought it was the Queen calling-----Who knows eh?--  

And of course, I was so happy that son #2  sent his flight number and that he kept his Mother in mind because he knows that I track his flight--- In case you are wondering, he is over Alaska now, heading east.

Yesterday, Grandson --son of Son #4--- called  me--"Gramma," he said, "You want me to cut your grass?"---- I was so happy!-- ----  So I drove in to pick him up---  and quick as a wink, he had it all done!  We made a business deal--We agreed on a price--  this wonderful Grandson and I,  for the rest of the summer], when school is out, he will cut ALL the grass---  the hill, the lake side, the septic bed and the front lawn ---  I will do the weed whacking (cutting the jungle back)---and he will take care of the grass.---He made my day--

I hear that around noon, there will be some kind of announcement that people in Canada will get some sort of financial relief , due to the high cost of living, right now---I wonder what it will be?---  Will it pertain to Seniors , who are trying to make ends meet (Mom's expression)_on a fixed income?---   Our retirement savings are slowly going down which most of us have had to dip into these weird days.The cost of gasoline is atrocious --groceries are very high--Lord love a Duck!---  Even "I" wonder if I should get a job---?--- (AS if eh??)_ Too bad I don't get a salary for looking after Himself-- ( I talk about all this only to all of you!----  The majority  of   people just quit eating , to cut back on their money---)I just am not able to do that!

Anyway, Sadie is knocking at the door, --that wonderful beautiful, cleaning Lady--(who is really me!)- and I hear Lopez wanting to go out-- so---  offa here I go--and --until to-morrow--- "Keep yer Chin Up"--(Dad used to say that)---think happy thoughts---  dance---  and--if you see one--Hug a Pilot--  They have wonderful Moms you know! 

Good Morning Beautiful People!

We have thunder storms all around us-- Lopez and I "hoofed" it up the road  and he did his business---  but--- I could hear some sort of animal in the bush, following us along the road--Lotza excitement  that I wasn't ready for-- Lopez could hear something  too as he started to bark and look into the bush.---  So we went faster! It could've been a squirrel-- but --it seemed larger--like a fox --or a bear. I picked up a long stick, just in case it was looking at Lopez as a meal! 

It seems that this is "wild life " day--  I was changing Beau's water  bucket--carried the heavy bowl out to the kitchen sink, and low and behold, as I was pouring the old water into the sink, am enormous dock spider emerged--- fell into the sink--  black--with very long legs--about the size of the palm of my hand-- It might've come in from the sunroom--or up a register  in the hallway-- so--I bashed it!----  Man oh man! One must be strong  when you live in the North--The only spider I have ever seen that size, are dock spiders--- This one seemed larger! --blacker too---

That was the excitement for to-day ----Yesterday I did cut the front lawn, and after supper, our Grandson called and said that he would cut the hill after school, if I could pick him up--That's the hill that I fell down last week. That is so nice of him--Maybe he could cut the lake side also--

Himself had a great day yesterday-- I am trying so hard to not get so upset when  he gets upset--just let it roll off of me--I cannot change him !--It is a lot of "mind over matter"--Poor fellow eh?--- I wonder if the Queen is going thru any of these changes in her life?---she and Himself are both in their 90's------I wonder if  people stood on their heads more, when they become  ageless?---  You would think that there must be some remedy other than medicine , to keep the old brain's blood flow healthy! ----  Weird thoughts here  early in the morning-

"Father's Day"  is coming up--My Dad was such a good person!---  There is never a day that goes by that I don't think of him!

WE ARE A PART OF THIS DAY

 Good Day to y'all! --I have shed another half a pound--down to 178.5   from 217 . It has taken me --like--a million years to get to this weight-- but---  it is happening--  That is the good news---the bad news is-- all my clothes are so big, that I had to call in a seamstress--and, of course, some outfits just cannot be taken in and look half decent.---but---  I am hoping to get to 165 --some day--

We have sunshine, with bugs-- lotza mosquitoes---Yesterday I cut the grass on the septic bed--- Himself sat outside , with Lopez--Hopefully this afternoon I can get to the front lawn-- 

Himself is having a good day--which gives Me a good day--  Yu never know what to expect with bis  whatever it is! I try to look at it as an adventure--- Lord love a Duck!--- 

I hear that to-day will be 75 degrees--  That is very nice--- That mens no AC--- I hope!  

I will try to write later on--maybe add something  to this--Right now Lopez is howling--wants some attention--You know, maybe every day is an adventure--?????  ---Who knows!--
