He was a good Dad--- When he and Mom retired , they moved to our small town , from Florida , and he took such good care of my Mom.----I thought all Dads were like him--
I have been out Weed Whacking this morning-- it's a tough job--- Lopez and Beau helped me--- The wind has finally stopped----- and I even see the sun---
So--will you?----live like someone left the gate open?-- Cows must have an easy life eh?-- There is something about them that intrigues me-- Do they think about "Humans"--- ?--- Seriously--- Have you even given this any thought?---- How long does a cow live?-- Do they like it out in the pasture?--
No, I don't think about cows.....but I do think about weed-whacking and how much I hate doing it. But after mowing, things look shabby if you don't weed-eat! I have been trimming bushes and now have a huge pile of brush to burn. I have a burn barrel! Lucky me! hahaha! Just another job! I miss my husband, the father of our children so much today....so must keep busy - and the yard work helps!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that I live in a condo and don't have to do any of that, haha, but on the other hand, I love to be outside in the dirt on a wonderful day, and so I found a mess yesterday and went to tend to it! We have a long row of arborvitae that were planted a year or two ago to separate our condo community from the other one. I sometimes cut through there with my dog. Between them was a mess of stray grass, and thistle. I decided to go out there yesterday and tend to all that. It was lovely out and I could hear the birds singing, and I lost track of time. It started to get dark and I later found out that I was out there for FIVE hours. My old body was a mess after I came back in and I could hardly bend over! ;)
DeleteOutside work is so hard isn't it?-- 5 hrs is a long time!--- Lynda
DeleteAwwww--I am sorry about your husband-- --Lynda

DeleteAnd now you've got me thinking about cows, too! But honestly, I was thinking about ducks. Happy Father's Day to your Himself and all the other Dads in your life... your sons, for example!
ReplyDeleteWell Barb--Yu made me smile-- Yu like ducks?-- LOL--Lynda
DeleteHappy Father's Day to Fred and to your sons.
ReplyDeleteNo. I don't think about cows but I am now that you planted the idea lol
I love your inserts...live like someone left the gate open. Thats neat.
Yep..dont overthink it lol
Weedwacking is not my strong suit. Dang string stuff breaks or runs out and I'm not too good at fixing it
Glad Lopez and Beau helped.
Hope you see the boys and some grands today.
Enjoy your day.
Hugs
There is nothing worse than "weed whacking"--Lynda
DeleteNow I’m thinking about cows, hamburgers on the grill, etc. Someone put them there for a reason, and they can’t complain. Someone invented the food chain, too. Mother Nature. Hope Himself and your sons get some recognition from family. My other son is coming over with Dil and grandson. We are having ice cream cake, because it’s too darned hot to cook anything, heatwave in many states, including Texas. Sorry you have to weed whack. Bet you never dreamed that you would do that at this point. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYu are so right--almost 80 and weed whacking-- Lordy Be!-Lynda
DeleteHappy Father's Day to Fred and to your sons. Hope some of them and your grandkids come over to see you guys.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely picture of your family, and lovely memories. We didn’t grow up having a lot of money, either, but we had LOTS of love and lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteGood of Lopez and Beau to help you weed whack!
here's to a good Monday.
hugs
barb
We do our own mowing and I get to do the weed wacking. My husband thinks we don't need to do it. But I think it looks much better when it's done.
