Remember those who make you strong

It is Banana day here--groceries-- the one and only place I can cut back on finances---  great for people who are hoping to lose weight--  LOLOL-- I am only teasing of course--- The fact is--I really cannot cut back that much on groceries--You do know, we need to win the lottery--all of us!--

I stepped on the scales this AM---179 pounds--from 217 , way back when--so, it is coming down but very slowly--  That is OK---Maybe it's the Chihuahua  who helps --like, I don't have time to dilly dally in the kitchen--Speaking of Lopez, that Chihuahua, last evening he was going absolutely crazy-- rolling around-snarling at nothing in particular-

-"Perhaps he's tired", I said to Himself--"----

"But he hasn't eaten his dinner", Himself replied, "and it's after 8pm"---

"Lord love a Duck", I thought---  The poor wee guy--- "He must be hungry"---

So, out to the kitchen we went, and when I sat with him, he ate all his supper--then fell asleep.

He forgets  to do stuff--He gets so excited be in the living room after dinner , with Beau, that he just continues on--and on--and on---I must remember that his little head is tiny--so --  He seems to live in the moment.

I am away --on a banana run--plus some million dollar groceries-- Maybe all of this is justa hoax to see if Canadians will lose their fat----  Oh I wish eh?--

  5. Little Lopez values your company more than his food! That's high praise for his humans! Hope your grocery trip is successful and you have a good Sunday!

  6. Yes, love your walk away from the nonsense...see what you want to see. That's what you will draw toward you. Another Law of Attraction teaching...what we focus on is what we get.
Poor Lopez without his dinner...and Himself remembered! That's fantastic!
Groceries, oh yes. Prices are ridiculous, but we must eat...hopefully nutritiously.
Lopez does help with your exercise. Haven't 'heard' you mention the dreadmill for some time now. It's probably good to have variety in our exercise. Do you do any strength training above and beyond your regular chores? I have resistance bands and dumb bells. I do it while looking at Coach Nicole's 20 minute seated resistance band video which is still on youtube!
    Think I will eat a banana now! Have a great day...all of you! {{{HUGS}}}

  7. I'm over here thinking I'm losing my marbles. Yesterday I was out with a friend and we had a movie to get to at 3. We sat down at 2 to eat and so I thot I had plenty of time. When I asked her what time it was she said 3. Dear Lord. I had forgotten to check the time. We made it, but then I couldn't follow the plot. Then I went to the grocery and presented a $100 gift card but it wouldn't accept it, and all the groceries were already bagged up and I had gone way over $100. I was ready to cry so I just walked out. I then had to order them and they came at 10:30 and she had gotten lost and thought the delivery address was at Walmart. It thought I was a new customer (instacart) and never asked me for my address. Then come to find out I had already used the $100 gift card at Home Depot online on my bday and had FORGOTTEN. I'm terrified now that I've for sure gotten Alzheimer's. At least I DO remember to eat, as my weight will prove. Haha.

    1. You may be getting Alzheimer's but I think it might also be other reasons. Lunch you were having a great time with your friend so yes you forgot to check your watch. They should have checked their watch also to see what time it was. So you both had a great time and enjoyed yourself. My guess is that you had not seen each other for awhile and were catching up. I had an experience which was a little like yours. I went to a store and purchased my groceries and went to use my credit card and it refused it which was a shock. Then I tried to pay my check and they refused that now I had just been paid so I know there was money in the account and I had used the credit card earlier in the week so there was not much on it. All my groceries were bagged and I would have walked out but they were my bags and I did not want to lose them but I was so tempted. So as the person and I were taking the stuff out the bags I realized the cashier was trying to get my attention. The kind person behind me paid for my groceries. So my was a much better ending then yours. I have no idea why everything was denied. I don't usually shop at that store but I was in Tualatin and they were there and I figured I could do my shopping there instead of closer to my apartment. The next time I went to this store near me I asked them if I was going to be able to use my credit card or write a check. They checked and everything was fine. Have no idea why one store says okay and the other no way. Sorry for the long explanation.
Instacart is horrible. It was their fault for not asking for your address. My sister was sending me some food using instacart and it never arrived at my place they delivered it to who knows where. Thank heavens they refunded my sister her money.
Now I can see using a gift card twice. Especially when you use it online. What I have learned to do is when I use it online if I haven't used the whole card I write the amount that is still good. That is what is so hard with gift cards. If I have used the card completely I get rid of it. This is so very easy to do. Hope that makes you feel a little better.

  8. Our older dog, 13-ish, that has been with us 2-1/2 years will not eat unless one of us remains within her sight-line. They have their quirks just as their humans do!

  10. During the worst of Covid, because of living alone, I found I lingered white out shopping because I was somewhere other than home. And of course I would find interesting things to buy, often going way over my budget. With prices soaring I’ve had to curb my shopping to once every couple weeks. And if I need just one thing… only get the one thing (usually milk). It’s hard but my pantry and freezer are full. Last week I only needed fresh veggies so I went to a local fruit and veg shop that sells locally grown produce. Instead of the usual 100 grocery bill it was $25. And I’m making use of what I already have rather than buying more than I actually need. With there only being one of me, and my appetite decreasing, it’s going to be a long time before I get the pantry and freezer down to needing much of anything. I really don’t know how I was buying so much but I’m glad I’ve snapped out of it. I’m embarrassed about it, but seeing what the prices are like now, I seem to have a small fortune in my cupboards. I wasn’t trying to stockpile I just would shop like there were still two of us when there’s only me, and the reality only set in when I’d be carting in 4 bags of groceries from the car. So there’s my confession. It’s odd, the things we do, just out of rote. Thanks for sharing your world with us!

  11. Those doggies are like 2 year olds, can’t tell time, want to play, etc. Need a parent around all the time, they don’t know how old we are. Feels like temp is 111 right now, after 2 pm. North Texas. Watering done very early. Stayin in for sure. Cooking indoors, too, no grilling outside. Bad air day, too. Just like Los Angeles was in the 1970’s.
Glad you got your bananas, and cut your list back. Not congratulating weight loss, bad luck for it to return to you. No company today?

Awesome on your slow but steady weight loss. With these prices, we'll all be cutting back and likely being more selective in what we buy. Bananas are a requirement for hubs happiness here. They don't last so I buy a few frequently. Seems they are too green and then turn too ripe if I get too many at one time.
    Terribly hot here. Whew
Have a great day. Play your piano
