All is well here on the "Home Front"--Himself is "cooking with gas" as Dad used to say --seems happy--Funny how he can be perfectly normal some days , and just terrible other days-- I stopped at the Alzheimer's place to give the young girl who has listened to me crying over the phone, so many times--a bouquet of cut flowers ---- She is always so positive.---and, I came home with fresh bread ("The whiter the bread-the sooner you're dead"---)---- It was brown bread that I bought--
This afternoon Himself is actually going to our dentist-- I kept his appointment, thinking , if he decided not to go, that I would take it, but--- after telling me that he would not go , forever---he decided to go to-day--Yeahhhhhh!-----
We have a sunny very nice day here to-day-- not too hot--but very buggy! ----
It is so important to be a strong woman--- You might think that "OLD" people can be weak--NOT THE CASE---- Older women MUST be stronger than strong--Older women must try not to get "Down In The Dumps"--- because, what the heck, Older women end up taking care of everyone else--I don't think this world would survive without "Older Women"----Lord love a duck! You know , there should be a song about "Older Women"---doncha think?
--------just look at the Queen!!!
I have been watching 4 baby robins in a nest outside my bedroom window. Yesterday the first one left the nest. Today there is only 1 baby sitting beside the nest. I hope they are all safe and I will see them agian from time to time.
ReplyDeleteOur Mother Robin did return this year to her old nest--- so I vfuess she made it South--and back-- Amazing!-Lynda
DeleteGood going on the weed whackers! Actually there is a country song about older women: Older Women Make Good Lovers by Ronnie McDowell. LOL! :)
ReplyDeleteHedy, that is right! --But---- I'm not so sure on the "lovers"-- LOL-Lynda
DeleteI agree with you. Older women must be stronger than strong. I'm happy to hear that himself is having a better day today! Good luck at the Dentist!
ReplyDeleteYeah eh for himself-=-and ME!_-Lynda
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I know I still need help w/the weed whacker threading even after 1 billion times doing it (well, maybe not that many, but you get the idea).
ReplyDeleteGlad that Himself is having good days. Awwwwww, how swee that you gave that young girl a bouquet of cut flowers. Bet it made her day.
That’s awesome that DH decided to keep that dental appointment. So important to keep up dental health. PHEW
No sun here today, just the liquid kind, and plenty of it.
Yes, yes, yes. Older women must be stronger than strong, for sure.

Barb, I know that you understand--Your parents were living with yu! --YU truly are a saint--- Lynda
DeleteI think society gives for granted that we have to be strong. But we can also crash lol. Have a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteYes, I crash sometimes-- I cry too--- and I'm afraid I talk back to him--and all of thAt is probably the worst thing I could do-- and I am a Nurse---and I know better-- but, I want the person I married back--- and it will never ever happen again-- It's like the "why me" syndrome--But--to-day was bearable ---- hugs my dear friend-Lynda
DeleteI am so sorry you are dealing with Alzeimers, Takes a lot of strength, patience and fortitude. God Bless You!! Dont forget to take care of yourself first!
ReplyDeleteWell--whatever he has, it can be terrible on some days--for crazy reasons--but I'm not alone in this which I never knew before-Lynda
DeleteI saw posted on another thread a meme you will like: "Older women are really QUEEN-AGERS." You're welcome.
ReplyDeleteYou are dealing with the roller coaster of the disease... some days good, some days awful, and I am cheering for you and praying for your strength. And I love what the Anonymous poster said about older women being Queen-agers! Awesome attitude, which we all have to have.
ReplyDeleteQUEEN-AGERS! --The best ever!-Lynda
Delete"If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman." ~ Margaret Thatcher
ReplyDeleteI love it-- I love it! Lynda
DeleteI don't feel that we have to be strong all the time, actually. We need to do what needs done, but also to let go, and lean on other people. We have to feel our feelings, not stuff them down, and I'm big on asking for help when we can't do it anymore.
ReplyDeleteOh yu are so right--but--when yu ask for help and it doesn't come, I have to kick into my "strong" mode--which I'm really not--I need a million $$$$ --LOLOL--- Hugs, Lynda
DeleteThat was so very nice of you, to bring that gal at the Alzheimer’s place some flowers, these folks are appreciated so much. So he really does seem to have Alzheimer’s then. Glad he felt up to doing the dentist thing. You are a saint for trying to get the darned weed thing to restring, that can be a bummer, even for folks he do it often. Kudos to you!
ReplyDeleteTake care. Ethel
Ethel--Weed whackers are my nemesis-- I hate them--but--- I hate the place looking overgrown too- Lynda
DeleteI believe that women no matter their age have to be very strong. When you have to deal with a man being sick they are often worse than kids. Looking after someone that is not well and still cleaning, doing laundry, making meals and shopping etc is more than a lot of men could handle. You are doing it all along with keeping a large property in order. You are strong and deserve so much credit.
ReplyDeleteMadeline--We are strong because we have to be-Lynda
DeleteGlad Himself is happy today...that means you are, too!
ReplyDeleteI hope he behaves with the dentist.
Hot hear...in the 80s F. I have been chasing a gnat inside. Kitty hasn't got it yet, buy they love his wet food.

I love it--LOL--Thank you-Lynda
DeleteYou are definitely a strong woman. We have to be.
ReplyDeleteSo glad himself is having a good mood day and will keep dentist apt.
Very sweet of you to bring a bouquet of flowers to the lady who listened.....I know she loved that.
Darn weed whackers. Threading them is a challenge. Hoping you can do it when needed.
Your home and grounds are gorgeous.
Take it easy. Enjoy the birds and your lovely home.
Blessings

I agree-- Weed Whackers are horrible!-- Lynda
DeleteYou are very strong and much more patient than me! Glad it's a good day today. It is also a nice day weatherwise before the rain starts again. Thank goodness you were able to get the weed whackers looked after. Remember to also look after yourself! Nice picture of the property you posted today.
ReplyDeleteOh Brenda --That WEED Whacker man was the best!-- Lynda
DeleteThere is a song called Older Ladies by Donna Lou Stevens. Here is the YouTube link - https://youtu.be/O4QzHeUE-CM
