Limits only exist in the mind!

I made it through "the hair day"yesterday---and, I even got a few errands done!--I came back home, ready to water plants out by the road, and the hoses would not turn on-- You see, we run a very complicated watering system--(to me it is complicated and I believed that I could never look after that pump stuff!)

----The pump is on the ground, near the lake , with a long hose going out into the lake , with a "foot valve" attached to the hose. Sometimes with the movement of the water in the lake, a lot of old leaves etc stick to the opening going out into the lake, thus no water.  We run about  6 hoses from this , watering gardens and grass, from the waters edge , out to the road.

I knew Himself could not get to the lake, so out I waded in my old runners--I know nothing about pumps, especially one that is  not working--- but,  down to the lake I went, lifted the whole paraphernalia out off the water , and  tried to clean it off--- came back up to the house, turned the pump back on , and--NO WATER!  Lordy Be! ----  We called Son #3, who could not come out, then he called Son#1, who all of a sudden appeared , and----  he got the whole system working.---  You see, it really is complicated!-- When it works, it is wonderful---  The Lake water , with it's algae, kinda fertilizes the grass and the gardens.

So, that was yesterday--- oh, I must tell you how fortunate I am that my hip is just very sore--NOT BROKEN--from that awful fall yesterday. I try not to put too much weight on that leg--afraid it will give out---but, I really am so happy that I am OK--

We do not have sun---In fact it is very buggy--  so many mosquitoes !---I  hope to-day I can get my happy on--even have a wee nap--with my book of course ---To-morrow I must send you some info on how to save $$ at the pump---  It is info sent to me from a friend--kinda interesting-
- have a great day--make it a great day!--We can do it !

  1. Sorry to hear you are still sore from your fall. Hope you feel bettter soon. Good that your son was able to do what was needed for the pump. You really are fortunate to have sons right there near you. Yesterday I got a call from Doctor saying I will be sent to the city for heart surgery. This came to me from the blue following an echogram which I have been geting done every few years because of a heart murmur I was born with. All of a sudden things have gotten worse and am now on an emergency list so never know when I will get the call to go. So if I suddenly stop showing up here you will know I am having my heart fixed, I hope.

  4. Hope your day goes better. Thank goodness your son could fix that pump. The next owner might want to modernize that system, so no one goes into the water. You have guts Linda, I must say! Sorry your hip is sore, now is the time to not disturb it too much. Careful.

  6. Hi Lynda. I never reply on your wall because there is always one man or another who was asking Me to be his friend and I don't like that. Not your fault dear but it creeps me out.

As for your water system, I think it awesome that you went out in the lake to even try to fix it! Was the water cold?? So glad son#1 came and got it working. Also happy that your hip didn't break when you fell. Take care of Yourself, it's a shame you have to do so darn much. Maybe time to 'think' about downsizing?? You think??

Love & Hugs to you, Fred, and your wonderful fur babies. xoxoxo

  7. I am so glad you did not get hurt any worse than you did from your fall. Glad Son #1 was able to fix the pump. The things you need to know when you live in a place. I just call my manager!!!

Well I have been putting it off which was really dumb don't know why I thought the price of gas would come down.... I finally put about a 4th of a tank of gas in my car that is all I had on me. Glad I don't drive much and at this rate I am going to be driving even less!!

Rest today and hope you feel better tomorrow, Lynda

  8. I'm so glad you had a better day today and that your sons came to help with the pump. That is a really great way to get your lawn and gardens watered, especially now when everything is so expensive! We used to have a well but a few days after we moved into this house with my then husband out of town and me with two newborns - the well went dry! Oh my, that was a mess! I'm also happy to hear that you didn't break anything in that fall. I'm sure it's because you take such good care of yourself! Have a great weekend.

  9. My kids' junior high school principal used to end the morning announcements over the pa system with, "Make yourself a good day." Bet most of the kids didn't even get it.
So glad your hip's not broken. My right hip sometimes 'goes out' and I have to catch myself. We deal with it. Doc says it doesn't need replacing. What she wants to replace is my left knee...calcium deposits...but it hardly bothers me. Go figure.
My pancreatitis drugs have not arrived yet from the VA. Doc said last Friday he'd send them right away.
That hose situations does sound complicated. Thank goodness (and God) that you have two loving sons close by. My daughter is 45 minutes away, but my 3 sons (remember that old tv show?) are scattered.
    Hope you and your pretty hair get a chance to relax and that your four pets (I'm including Himself) are behaving. Have a great evening. {{{HUGS}}}
