Get BACK UP!

"Another day--another dollar-"----Mom used to say that! ---It isn't true today  really anymore---  more like--"Lose a Dollar"-----

We have a rainy day  beginning--  Lopez and I did get out before the raindrops however--with no excitement on the back road .I have been back to Nappa--the outside store where I have purchased 546 Weed Whackers-- (Well, it seems like that many!)--The man there restrung 2 of them AGAIN, for me--It is loading the thing-getting the old string out--then reloading it properly--  which is a problem for me--

You know, I never remember Dad Weed Whacking--but--he did used to Sythe the hill at the cottage--I believe I have a picture of him doing that--

I never hear of a Sythe anymore ---- Our cottage was on a hill and of course in front , on the hill the tall grass would grow and Dad would Sythe it--

That is about "IT" for to-day---  I am hoping my brother will appear to-day or to-morrow from New Hampshire--  so I will get on with getting his room ready-

  1. Ooh, a brother visit! How awesome is that?

Meanwhile, I wish I could find a scythe... it seems so much gentler (although more of a workout) than a weed-whacker! Hope your week goes well!

  2. I remember people using a scythe when I was a kid. It worked pretty good, as long as the blade was sharp. Does the man at the Napa place charge you for redoing the line? I remember my husband cussing when he had to do it, but we had an acre, so it had to be done. Hoping your brother arrives at your house safely!

  5. Lynda, I really like the saying about getting back up! That's how I felt yesterday evening after a super busy day. But I was right back up and going this morning. Stay strong 💪

  6. My dad had a scythe too. Mom did the trimming with a hand clippers. It's a hot one here today - close to 100 with high humidity. Even little Daisy doesn't want to go outside!

  7. I have trouble getting my hands to do things sometimes, too. Even opening a bottle of water!

Glad your brother is coming. That will be good for you all.

I called the auto shop and they are looking at my car tomorrow.

    Remember ACIMPEGGY? That is me.

    Love your inspirational posters!

  8. Stupid weed whackers! They're great when they work but. My grandfather used a scythe. I used to trim with a hand trimmer lol. Cant do that with acres.
