Open your heart and be happy!

To-day  is Sunday, March the 15th___

OK--I found the perfect picture of the snow in our area at the present time--and I must show it to you all--Well, the picture below is from Scugog Island, near Port Perry, Ontario-- but--just look at the snow banks--It looks like that here!--In fact, I believe our snow banks are even higher--Port Perry is where my Grandparents lived-once upon a time.

Yes, it is Sunday--  and--it is March--which sounds like Spring--but--(Isn't there always a "big But"--????)  It sure doesn't look like Spring here and it won't for sure for to-day, as we are expecting a huge snow storm to-day--like---3-4 feet of fresh snow to fall-- and Son#2 will be "winging" his way back home, from -England, and will he be able to land?--  That is the question--
Anyway, How are you all?--Everyday can be a challenge -- We just have to carry on don't we?--Be willing to change a little--Live for the present and future because we do not have the power to undo the past and nothing can make a person happy but what comes from within--
And, did I tell you that Sushi is up?---as is Lopez---and the dryer is full of clean sheets--?
Above--Fred with our daughter's son, Jacob--
                            and Grandchildren having fun--
Allison , our daughter--with Sophia, her daughter

                           grandkids  in a dingy, below---

So--Wise words--#1. Don't use your teeth to open things (and we all do!)                       #2.--It is better to live happy than to die sad
                            #3.You snooze-you lose!
So, wars are going on---the weather is  bad---Lord love a Duck! --  We still have to keep going-- keep our children happy--laugh loudly,
and hope for the best--that everything will turn out--will be okay-so, open your heart ---and---- be happy . It is a new day--Get on your way---

  1. Good morning, sis.

My goodness...your snow! I thought ours was bad. We have several inches of snow that fell overnight. Our weather service has declared a blizzard warning until tomorrow at 7 AM. So it is to continue almost another 24 hours. I may be able to take a photo like the one you posted!

No one will be going out today, except the smokers. That is not allowed on the property.

Everyone will be doing laundry and playing cards in our Communitiy Room.

Your photos are always wonderful. Love seeing the lake, the grandkids...and Fred.

I had sayings in frames hung on the wall: Remember yesterday, Live for today and Dream the future.

"See" you later, Lynda. Time to start the day. I will return later, as usual. Please BE CAREFUL in all that snow! {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  2. Winter is not quite done with us, is it? We have the howling gusty wind down here to your south, even if we don't have the volumes of snow. Brrrr! Either way.

Staying home and staying safe... and confident that in a few days Spring will cycle around again!

    Hugs,

  3. Good Morning Lynda,
That's a lot of snow. And they are saying you will get more? I hope your pantry and fridge are stocked since it doesn't look like you will be going anywhere for a bit.
We don't have snow but they are predicting high, possible damaging winds overnight, and then snow flurries tomorrow. I just hope we don't lose power. This crazy weather is really affective my sinuses, giving me a headache and plugged up ear. Then it's supposed to warm up by the middle of the week. Oh well, what can we do? Go with the flow I guess.

Anyway, I hope you have a good day! Stay warm and stay safe!

    Hugs,
    Jackie

  4. Top 'o the morn to you, Lynda. St Patrick's Day is on the 17th, so I'm sending you an early greeting. I wish I could send some of the heat in California to melt all of your snow and allow your Spring time to begin.
You won't be going anywhere today, so play your piano, read a good book and relax.

  5. Wish we could put pictures here. I would show you a lovely picture of our weather right now - 66 degrees out and buds on the trees.

And, the big BUT...27 degrees Tuesday, and 39 Wednesday. Here, in Central Ohio, we have the seesaw weather.

Bundle up, have a coffee or two, and relax!

Oh Marti--SO SO much snow----It is like a Blizzard --We used to pretend we were lost in the snow (when I was a kid) and I invented this new game, called "BLIZZARD"-All you had to do was wander aimlessly around in the snow--like you were lost, and keep saying, "BLIZZARD""-- (I wsn't too ion inventive--=LOL--Lynda

  6. It's Kathy. We woke up to lots of snow, but so far not as much as they predicted. Daisy was a little troubled when the snow came up to her belly and she couldn't tell where the snow stopped and the step to get into the house began. So we're all staying put today. Eventually Tom will get out and clear the driveway and make a new path for Daisy. The heaviest snow hit about 50 miles south of us - they got 20 inches overnight and it's still snowing! And just last Sunday it was 60 degrees and sunny! Love the pictures, such great memories. I hope you have a nice day and that Son #2 is able to land once he gets back to Canada!

  8. Hi Lynda: I heard on CP24 that you may get 40 - 80 cm today and tonight. I hope not. In Toronto we're going to get much, much less, like very little! Get the snow boys to clear it for you. Hope the pilot gets back safely. When do you have to go to Sudbury for your eye test? Have a good night. Brenda

  9. Doesn’t look like Spring here, either. Winter Storm Warning . . . ice/sleet/snow. **SIGH*

Yes, we do have to carry on despite challenges, for sure. Wishing your DS #2 a safe arrival home.

    LOVELY photos.

That sums it up . . . I don’t know where I’m going, but I’m on my way.

Stay safe and I’ll do the same.

  11. Rain and tornado warnings for us in south central Illinois....and some light snow tonight - but not much accumulation. The winds have been terrible - gusting to 60 miles per hour. I stayed in all day and puttered around. I have been worried all afternoon about my daughter who was driving home from Kansas as her daughter had a soccer tournament there this week-end. She said the Interstate 70 highway was awful with trucks, rain, wind, hail and snow for her to drive home in....which took almost 6 hours. I was so happy when she got home! I hate changing the sheets on my king size bed too - but I do enjoy having the big bed to myself, except some nights I have one or two cats on it with me. I have arthritis in my hands and I think that makes it hard for me to lift the ends to tuck the sheets. I also alternate which side I sleep on each week so I don't wear out the mattress on just one side! Sounds crazy right? But that's life as a widow....you do strange things that make you feel comfortable! Stay safe and don't try to shovel all the snow by yourself....try to enjoy your "cabin-bound" time!

  12. Hi Lynda! High 72 in Ohio and 25 Tuesday. Only in the 30’s tomorrow and I must clean up so many limbs in my yard from the wind storm. Several days ago and some still without power. Your snow sounds just terrible! I would not like that. I already sleep with a heated mattress pad all year. I washed my sheets today, too. Have a great night. Hugs!
