Kinda a big mess--frustrating--

Good Morning--  It is March  the 29th--cold--daylight now--The wash machine has finished--  and I had a whole blog typed out and guess what?--The mouse  stopped working--had to be charged--and I lost the blog--

So, anyway, I am here--will get a blog out to you all shortly-- i hope that you are  happy--Imagine great things--Not too many great things are happening here--but--I am trying to have the faith--that eventually things might workout--
Below--=Son#1 and Son#2
Below--Grandchildren--Sophia, Ava, Jacob and Emma-3 of these children are now in University

Below--  Fred and I
Below--Fred and Hannah
So, what hasn't worked out, is that memory test--It needs to be repeated--  Now that I am back on the Synthroid to bring up the Thyroid--  if I could redo that test, it might even give me a pass--How could I have not done well--Correcting a thyroid  level takes time--This Dr does not  seem to see that--The other alternative is to move back to Lakefield  and get another Doctor---=-  seems so hard ---  I just want  to drive my car--never ever had an accident--so frustrating-----
So, I must get ready--Ethan , son#4's son will drive me to the grocery store-
Beginning to-morrow--Hopefully I can get this blog out a tad earlier---Hopefully this driving problem will  get better--
Words I wish I wrote--
#1.In every enterprise, consider where you will turn out--
#2. Remain calm
#3.When the going gets tough--the tough get going--
I shall hope to read your comments--and iI hope that you have some advice to share with me--
Lord love a Duck!!

  1. Good morning, Lynda! Cloudy and high 56 in Ohio today. Sorry about the driving troubles. It’s too bad there is not another doctor there to switch to. I live in the cornfields and there are several to choose from. It must be very bad there. So nice of Ethan to take you out today. Maybe you two could go to lunch. How is Dave doing? Seems a bit since you all went out. Enjoy your day. Hugs!

  3. I think you need to slow down and not give into the flight option of the fight or flight response. If the clinic gets upset because you want a different Dr.that's fine. It's your right to have a Dr.you are comfortable with.Moving again right now is probably not a great option as you just got settled in.For the feeling lonely get out more once the weather is better.Volunteer at the library, join a walking group or check if there is a senior center that has bingo and things like that. All the DMV may have a way for you to appeal losing your license given your great driving record.Hope and Pray everything gets better soon.

  4. Morning Lynda,
Sorry this whole ordeal is stressful for you. Yes, if you would feel better about it, yes get another doctor. You have to be comfortable with the one who is guiding your care.
Nice of Ethan to take you to the grocery store. So, does that mean you can't drive until you retake the test?
I hate to see you rush into another move, that's such a big thing to deal with again so soon after just moving there.
Hopefully, you can retake the test and it will all work itself out.
Stay strong and hang it there.

    Hugs,
    Jackie

  5. Good morning, sis.

Not too cold here, but not warm either. Temp is 41F and mostly sunny.

Honey, I don't believe you read our comments from yesterday when we gave you our thoughts about your situation.

I do hope you pass the test this time...just take a minute if you need to before you answer each question.

Love the photos...especially the one of you and Fred.

I am, as my mama used to say, too pooped to pop today. Did go to karaoke last night. Got to bed about 2 AM. Will really need a nap today. Lucky got me up early.

I'll check back here a couple times, though. Definitely at the end of my night, too, to check replies to our comments.

DO have a great day. Think of things you love, do things you love...maybe play your tuned piano. You can do it! {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie.

  6. It's Kathy. I'm so very sorry this is happening to you. I have no idea what memory has to do with the ability to drive a car. Maybe you forget someone's name - so do I. But my driving ability isn't related to that. And we are both smart enough to know if there's a day when we shouldn't drive! I do not like your doctor and I'm so sorry he is making your life so difficult. In my opinion, only you and your family should have the right to determine whether or not you are still able to drive. Know that I am in your corner and hoping for the best for you! Have a good day today - I'm glad your grandson is willing to help you out.

  8. Good morning Lynda, did Son #1 go in with you when you saw the doctor? I hope so because sometimes it's better to have someone also listening to what the doctor has to say in case you miss something important. I've never met your doctor, but I don't like him. If you don't mind sharing, what exactly are you being asked to do or recite that is making you fail the memory test? Perhaps a series of numbers and count backwards, or a short story and you repeat it back to him? Have you asked him what the memory test has to do with your ability to drive safely. Lynda, other than being close to Matt and his wife, I got the impression that you did not like living in Lakefield and that's why you returned to Lake Elliott. Now you're thinking about moving back there?
You need to do what you feel is best for you, but it seems you are rushing a decision all over this failed memory test. Take your time.

  9. I am more confused than anyone. I live here and follow your blog posts through Facebook. I just saw you driving yesterday….and I am sure it was you as your plate is very distinct. Do you have a license or not?

    1. Yes --I so have a drivers Licence--but the problem lies with a "memory test" which I have to take again-- -and a huge problem with the new Dr who does not call me by my name--calls me "Missy' and also my thyroid which is all messed up due to Fred's death-- and the move to try to help my husband live longer--(but he did not live longer----Yu must stop in here and say hello--Lynda

  10. Make sure you are taking your synthroid correctly: in the morning, 2 hr before eating with a full glass of water, separately from any other medications by 5 hours, take it the same time every day. Or you can take it 3-4 hours after your last meal if you have other meds to take in the morning.

  11. Oh, Lynda! I am so sorry you are feeling so overwhelmed. (With good reason!). More snow certainly isn’t helping. Glad your grandson is taking you to the grocery store. Getting out always helps. If you can postpone making another major life change it might give you time to really feel comfortable with your decision. I, too, have a tendency to worry and overthink everything. Worry can be crippling. Someone gave me the advice once to put a time limit on letting worrisome thoughts take over. Allow yourself 10 to 15 minutes a day to think about what is worrying you. When the time is up say aloud “STOP.” Put it aside to the next day. Winter is a lonely time of year. Hopefully you will start seeing signs of spring. Please give yourself grace and know that you have faced so many challenges in a relatively short period time. You have climbed mountain after mountain. Take a breath, look for spring, play your piano, and take solace in how many people love you. Things will be okay. ❤️

  13. Lynda, I just am really worried about you and your decision making abilities lately. There is no hurry at all to make a move, or any decisions at all. As long as you have people to drive you to the store and back, and to go to the doctor's, really, you are all set. You are going to be just fine. Take a deep breath.
