Stay Positive--

To-day is Saturday, March 7th--Rain is falling--and it is looking cold outside-Lopez and Sushi and I are up--Of course, the washer is chugging away here-I had trouble getting on the computer this AM --It seemed to be working hard at upgrading, and I had to wait until it finished whatever it was doing. Too bad I am not  very computer literate---

So, I shall return--and--I see the rain has stopped--  Good --I can get little Lopez out--Prolonged bad weather can negatively affect even the happiest person----and we must move forward , not backward.

I have the pharmacy sort out my pills--in a paper pill pack--and as I am trying to tear the back of the pack open-- morning and night--  the pills fall out--all over the kitchen floor and I spend the next hour on my knees  looking for them and trying to get them in a dish ready to take--some morning--some night--With Thyroid  meds , they should not be taken with food so it is important that you take some of them after dinner. Anyway it takes me forever to get them ready. I used to watch Fred doing that, and now here I am--  A paper pill pack is not good-- rips open--and there I am, on the floor again!

Below--Allison with Sophia-who is now going to attend Kent Univertsity in Ohio.

above--Son#3 and his wife, with Emma and Ava--  both now in university--

--- and there they are again--older tho!
And words of wisdom ----#1. Take the bull by the horns
                                            #2.Find need in your existence
#3. Telling the truth is a brave act
I hope that your day is great-- with positive thoughts--Dump your unwanted baggage----and do what matters most of the time--Do it big or stay in bed-- and most of all, try to enjoy to-day--It only comes once--
I see fog outside--the rain has stopped  My phone says 3 degrees----
Remember, a new day-and---a clean slate___
Remember --Your age is in your imagination--We can be as young as we decide to be--

  1. I’ve always wondered….how do you have laundry daily if you live alone? My husband and I are empty nesters but have a max of 3 small loads a week so I was just curious.

  3. Good morning, sis.

It's 27F here now, but it's going to reach the low 30's...and tomorrow 62F! That's spring. We never know what to expect.

Love seeing the photos...seeing how the babies grow up. The parents seem older, too.

At my doctor appointment yesterday I was told my A1C and BP are both up a bit. I had an x-ray that showed I have a large bone spur on my left shoulder. That's what is causing the pain. I have to look up what causes that.

I need to take my friend, John, shopping today. He needs some dressier clothes. His 105 y/o mother is expected to pass within a couple days.

I am bound to get some laundry done. It seems you wash clothes every day!

Those pills spilling all over is a real challenge. I drop them often, too, but only 1 or 2 at a time.

Today is my ex-husband's birthday. If he wasn't over 7 hours away, I would make him his old favorite poppy seed cake.

Better get going here and see when John wants to leave. I will be back. Have a happy day...we can do it! {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

She will come here next week for a party. They live an hour and 45 minutes away and the weather will be bad today. I hope you have a super Saturday! Hugs!

  5. Good morning Lynda, did you remember that this weekend is clock changing time? It's good that you have less clocks to deal with. At least rain will take care of any remaining snow and you don't need to clear snow off of your car. I hope that your weekend goes well. You haven't mentioned Dave lately. Do the two of you still go out for a meal. He seems to be good company for you.

  6. I did not read your blog from yesterday until today. It was the 7th anniversary of my husband's death yesterday and I went to mass which was being said for him. My oldest granddaughter went with me and then we went out to breakfast with some ladies who are in my prayer group. My granddaughter is such a joy, So loving and caring. I kind of broke down in church and I don't know why. It was 7 years ago that he died - and the years seem to have whipped by....seems like yesterday. I wonder if the grief ever goes away or at least doesn't seem as heavy? I have so many things in my life to be thankful for, so why do I still long for the past? I must get busy and not mope around.....my 2 roommates (my cats) need some attention! I am thankful I have them!

  7. Morning Lynda,
There is rain here as well and it's pretty warm out. It's mid 60's F and expected to hit low 70's. Feels like Spring. Although, I still don't think we are finished with winter weather yet.
Not sure if you have tried maybe using scissors to cut the packs open, that way they don't fly everywhere when you rip it open. Then you can just poor them into a small bowl. I do that with most things like that such a chip bags, food bags, etc. for that very reason. I don't want to be cleaning up a mess.

I hope you have a good day whatever you do!

    Hugs,
    Jackie

  9. It's Kathy. We woke up to snow on the ground and a much colder day. But they tell us that it will warm up tomorrow. If it does, the snow will be gone. We're on our way shortly to watch our Grandson compete in his Archery Tournament. But I didn't sleep very well last night and really would rather not go, but I know these moments will be gone soon. Yesterday my middle daughter called and after 20 years in Roanoke VA, they will be moving to Oklahoma. I really loved visiting them in Roanoke, such a lovely town. But change happens every day and we must be okay with it! Have a wonderful day today.

  10. Hi, Lynda. I saw some sun when I first got up, but by the time I got the dog out it had gone away and was very very blustery out. We have 74 degrees here in Central Ohio, t-storms coming, they say. We've had above normal temps most of the week, with rain. We typically get a lot of rain in March, par for the course. The grass is greening up and I hear the birds singing, so spring is definitely here and/or on its way.

DST is my favorite day of the year, can't wait to turn those clocks forward!

You try to have a good day! Do something you love to do! :)

  11. Have you tried cutting the pill packs open with scissors instead of tearing them? I'd sit at the table & do it so maybe they won't spill.

Today is my birthday, 61. Sure wish I could retire lol!

  12. Lynda, do pills have to be in packages?? Can you request pills be in bottle? Maybe the packs are more convenient. Use a scissor to open the package.

  13. Same weather as you today. Then by Tuesday it’ll be 70, only to drop down into the 30’s and rain/snow. GAH! Make up your mind, Mother Nature.

Hope you get the pill situation sorted out. It is a pain when you have to get on our hands and knees to retrieve fallen pills. Especially w/Sushi and Lopez there, you don’t want them to get them!

Your Allison looks just like you! Love the photo. Amazing how quickly the kids grow up! ‘

Love the photo of son #3 and family.

Oh how I wish all that is going on in the world now were a bad dream. It is a nightmare! But we can help by having an attitude of positivity ourselves. That is the only antidote for the things going on in this world (besides LOVE)!

    Hugs and blessings
