A lot going on here----

Good morning---  "HAIR DAY"--if I can make it---You see,  to-day is the day that Lola and Apollo will be here --mid morning-- AND--yesterday, we nearly lost Lopez--  I was out in the front yard, with Lopez on a leash--He saw the neighbour Lady walking by our gate--took off to the gate--  pulled his leash right out of my hand--and ran to the gate--WENT UNDER THE GATE-and a car was driving--- too fast----  and--I thought for sure it was going to run over Lopez-In fact I thought it had--Somehow  Lopez was under the vehicle--  the vehicle had stopped--  and--Lordy Be--ALL WAS WELL__So----Luke is coming this afternoon---

Apparently Luke  was out here , tapping trees , will be to-day-so will come by and see if he can repair any escape routes around our gate---my hair day--

And I just head from someone that SOMEONE  is AGAIN,  into my Facebook page-- so , if any of you get a request to be friends--ignore it--I am sorry this is happening--AGAIN--

I shall get off of here --get ready for our visitors-- the 2 dogs---- and wish you all well to-day--  It seems cold outside this morning--  remember that we change our clocks on te 10th--AND----try to be happy--- as happy as a clam at high tide--- I'll see yu all later--

Having "a little Sass and a lot of badass"--

It is a beautiful day- sunny--cold-- the driveway is  free of ice--the snow is melting--Himself is at his Day Program--They shower him with respect there--call him Dr. Young---  They listen to what he has to tell them--  and he feels like a "somebody"---Everyone should feel like a "somebody"--

--just because one is 95 years old, and life seems difficult for  him and his "caregiver "(-who is me)--does not mean that life is impossible-- We are doing it--together, of course--and with the Lodge helping us--

To-morrow, we have visitors--Lola and Apollo---  Son#3's doggies--   They will be spending their "Day Program", here with me--their "Nanny"--They are old ---- but quite mellow---  too old to be boarded in a kennel--so Gramma, (who is me) will take care of them--  It is March Break time in Canada---so, Gramma will have 4 dogs--  Lord love a duck eh?-----  Maybe I should say, "Lord Love A Dog" eh?--LOLOL

I must get the vacuum out here-- -Life is busy---BUT---- THE BEST PART IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD IS___  I can walk on the driveway--NO MORE ICE! - But, man oh man, one had to close one's ears to all the advice , be tough in your decision,---to get it done----  To me, it is  just plain HEAVEN---  no more walking with sticks over the ice--and praying all the way so not to fall--

So, it was a great weekend--Spring is in the air--Soon there will be Robins---  and those darn Hummingbirds-- and geese ---and---even the lakes will open--AND----  We must remember our clothing--as another winter bites the dust--

The guy that I married will be looking for me to get him sooner than I can say "Johnny Robinson"--

and there he is again when Son #3 graduated as a Policeman--How on earth did we ever have all these kids?--and-- we even educated them all--  Just remember that "YOU" are powerful, you are beautiful, brilliant and brave----

and----it doesn't hurt to have little Sass --and maybe with a bit of a badass!

  Good morning----Your day is going to be great! -- And that is because you will decide to make it the best day ever--Everything is gonna be okay---

When I got up this AM., it was raining----By the time I took the 2 boys (as in dogs)-- out, the rain had stopped--I just walked Lopez up the road----AND HE DID HIS BUSINESS---talk about co-operating eh?--  There were ice pellets falling as we raced home--

                                           I wanted to hug the wee boy, like the picture above--

 Yesterday , we had ice--  then the guy in the sand truck came--- and  covered all that ice with sand and salt---and to-day I can see the stones on the driveway-- That ice is melting--It is amazing! ----and---a perfect example ,  that one should always just take "the bull by the horns"----do what has to be done--to get thru your day--it might cost a bit  but it would cost a lot more if I fell-and broke a leg--even if Beau broke some leg----so, another adventure-----another hurdle --over with -and all is well that ends well--

 

To-day , we have no appointments--no, "must have" places to go to--- just "go with the flow" sort of day---relaxin' kinda day---I believe Himself goes back to his Day Program to-morrow.

I never seem to be able to book Sadie, that cleaning Lady , who, as you know, is really me----  It seems that she just gets started on a cleaning chore, and --"all hell breaks loose"-in this house---I may have to book Sadie for a whole week---- so that every room  might get dusted etc--We do have "March Break" very soon---and I hear that Lola and Apollo (Son#3's dogs)--will  be staying with Gramma  for a week---so---of course Sadie should come another week---Lord love a Duck---- always something isn't there?--

                               Some good advice below--- "Talk to Yourself once in a day"---I am afraid I talk to myself a good many times-- in a day-----Do you???

I am here gabbing away---and there are people to see, places to go--- and a whole house to tidy up--

Are you feeling "strong" to-day???

Life is not easy , some days, and one must muster up that energy. keep your chin up, and do what you never thought you could--

And so, all you "WONDER WOMEN"-----get off of here, and  attack this day with enthusiasm--

"Stick to your guns"--

All is good---The sander came in our driveway at 7-30am--and-- both big beau and I are now able to walk all over--ON THE ICE---and we feel safe-- A very nice young man was  in the truck, throwing the sand/salt  mix , everywhere--and---it works----

-To-day is Monday--He could not come yesterday because it was Sunday-----When I came back inside, after all the  objections that floated out of Himself's mouth yesterday well--they-became positive  statements---like-- "Yes I remember him coming last year  also because of all the ice"-----after all that chaos yesterday-- the derogatory comments---like--"Just walk on the ice"--and "You will be just fine"--and-"Drive out---You can do it"-

It isn't easy being an "older Lady"---  The advice  just flies  out--- mostly from grown ups  trying to help your situation----I appreciate all their concerns---also,  I am aware of what I can --or--cannot do---Dad used to say--"Stick to your guns"--I remember  him telling me that as if he were sitting right here---

 Good thing I kept my mouth closed  isn't it?---I did listen to all the advice, weighed it all, in my mind---but----  I knew that sand truck was  my very best option--- 

Little Lopez heaved a sigh of relief---He and I walked out onto the back road and he did ALL  his business-----Beau also-----I'm sure it was a huge relief for them both---

I think it is 7C outside--very mild--with rain predicted for the next couple of days--which just might melt all the snow----No day program for Himself to-day due to the Covid outbreak at the Lodge--We will just have to make a few trips to town , so Himself can feel a part of the world still--

---------and----guess what?---  It must be SPRING, because the piano tuner will be here soon-

I thought I'd post the above, just in case you were wondering how  me--a Lady who is older than old,   has this list of guys that might have a crush on me--LOL--  As you can see, that list is quite small--but--that is OK--- as the most important guy in my life is, as you are aware--is Himself-- (thought it might put a wee smile on you)--

Older Women need -WEIGHT TRAINING__

Can you tell that I am disappointed---not much help- coming this way---at the moment-- I guess it all began yesterday-- with the weather--  the big meltdown, in the North--which means, our driveway, turned from layers of snow---to ice--thick ice --- One could skate on it---  It happens every year--

I put big Beau out to do his business a couple times yesterday--and he runs on the icey drive--out near the gate at the road, to find , his "PO" fields---and I saw, his legs  going all over the place-- I knew this was going to be a problem, not only for him, but for me-- I put a message on a sons phone--asking him to let me know of someone who could spread some sand on the drive-The day passed--and I never heard from anyone---So, of  course, I put big Beau out this AM., and he went running out , on the icey drive--and down he went-onto his side---I went out to help the poor dog, and down I went---So, there we were--Beau and I lying on the ice--on our driveway--

I came inside --with big Beau----  We were both Ok- It is Sunday however--No sander will ever appear here --(on a Sunday)-Yesterday I had bought 4 , 50 pound bags of sand, so----and somehow I had to get some sand on the ice----- Have you ever lifted a 50 pound bag of sand?-- Lord love a Duck---I managed to lift 2 of them, into a spreader, which would not "spread", but I could toss it out manually from the spreader--and it worked, until I tried to lift bag #3--and I must've torn some thing in my left arm--- The pain goes up to my neck--

Long story short-- The bags are tossed around the icey drive--I did it---  doesn't cover it very well--but at least I can walk out there sorta safely--

 Woman must be strong--  and it seems , the older the woman. the stronger one must be----  There is no good fairy waiting around to give one a hand--no time for tears---maybe a bit of weight training is a good idea--- To-day, this is life----not the way I ever thought it would be--but--the way it is--

A few weights in my day will for sure help me toss bags of salt onto the drive----- maybe  not going to a gym-- just lift the weights in my living room --a few repetitions -----

 Good day  to you all---Later than late posting--You see, my Kindle broke--Last night I could not get it to work--and it is my lifeline--especially before I  go to sleep--I always read  books on it---but--last night it would not turn on -- after about 10 hrs., I finally charged it in a plug up beside the bed--and , for some silly reason, it turned on--(In the kitchen, nothing would happen--thought it had died!) 

I called my sister out in Nova Scotia, who has several Kindles---She suggested I just turn it on--AND OFF-so, I powered it down, and when it came back on (which surprised me)- it began to work-- But--I had already ordered a new one--which my sister told me that it is a good idea to have a back up kindle--so---  I read  my book on it last night with the thing plugged into the wall--My head was hanging over the bed--It is a Susan Meissner book, called, "As bright as Heaven--"-So a new kindle will arrive next week and this will be a back up book--

The big news is--SUSHI IS NOW USING HER NEW CAT TREE__Lord love a Duck---Since Himself moved the new one, beside the old one--(so now they almost completely cover the window)- she goes onto the new one--

--And--as if we weren't busy enough---  Our financial advisor called--well emailed-- and they are changing over their employees--  so, I had to sort all that out----- finances are VERY important these days with the price of everything skyrocketing--

-So----How is your day going?---It's mild here--feels like Spring-- We have a great deal of ice all over from the snow melting---but--it is March--- and the winter seems to be on its way out--(I hope!)-

NEVER EVER FORGET THE ABOVE---Braver-- Stronger, Smarter and Loved---

We do need a little help sometimes ---  I hope that you go out of your way to be extra nice to people you meet to-day-

  It is going to be a good day--I just feel it in my bones-- and if you are thinking-- "oh no"----that your bones are not telling you that---- MAKE IT A GOOD DAY----  Breathe-- You CAN handle whatever is going to happen--POSITIVE THOUGHTS ONLY-----a smile helps---The Lady below  will bring a smile onto your face--I do love her! 

Well, Himself was supposed to go to his Day Program to-day---after a storm last week and missing 2 days--Well, guess what?--- The phone call early this morning, advised me that his Day Program is cancelled this morning---DUE TO COVID ---IN THE BUILDING----  Lord love a Duck! Who would think eh?---- And then, I remembered yesterday, when  I was all over town--the Pharmacy, the Post Office, Son#1's restaurant, the Bank--the Pet Store--and the Car Wash--WITHOUT A MASK---  Lord love a Duck!---- And looking back, Himself is the only one who wore his mask at his Day Program-----I never wore one--haven't for a very long time--So, it is still out there-- COVID--- altho we are all vaccinated etc etc---  BUT----I'd rather not get it AGAIN---

The 2 Boys, (as in dogs) have been out--- will have to go out again--later -- It was VERY cold this AM---  will warm up later--Little Lopez had a bath yesterday--I did the bathing---He could not stop shivering when I took him out of the tub--poor wee fellow-- I guess it was a shock to his system--

Because there is no Day Program, I suppose Himself and I will have to do something nice--- like---  GO OUT FOR LUNCH__  LIKE--  GET A MEAL TO GO---We have to make to-day special somehow --LOL-- AND----  I nearly forgot--- 

IT IS MARCH 1ST ---  Lord love a Duck!-Did you know that Daylight Savings Time begins March  the 10th  ??????---That means more daylight---after supper--We can all go out and play "Hide and Seek", or, "Kick The Can"---Now wouldn't that shock all our kids if they saw all their parents outside running around?--LOL 

 No Sadie , the cleaning Lady, (who is really me)-to-day----  Himself and I have to get down to serious business to-day , having fun-- making this day special--
