To-day is Sunday, March 1st-- almost 7am --hard to put my feet on the floor this am--but, the heat is turned up, now, and Lopez and I are down here on the main floor--Sushi is up also--was in the bed with me, but now wandering around upstairs--I was down here in the night and bumped into Sushi making the best of the tiny house, when Lopez was in his crate asleep beside my bed. Remember how I found Sushi , as a tiny kitten, when we lived out at the lake?
So, I did not get to the concert last evening--I wanted to go but just did not have it in me, to go alone. Instead I ended up chatting with Fred's niece in Toronto---She lives alone also--gave me some tips on visiting the Public Library --feels there might be a lot going on there for me to look into--Words of wisdom--#1. Your daily life is your temple and your religion
#2. Never deprive someone of hope!
#3.The more you stretch, the more you can fit in.
So much to think about--so much to try---so so much to do--everyday--so, keep your soul young.--The picture below I remember so well--Emma was a baby-- Her Mom is holding her--Son#2 has Hannah----and there are lots of dogs--Good Memories!
Fred as Mr "T"-- below and Allison with Hannah aboveSo many memories---So good to look back--and cherish your family and friends--Life begins every morning when you wake up--The only way to have a friend is to be one. Learn as you'd live forever!---and always, put your best foot forward.---
A new day is beginning--and we are an part of it.--Do the best you can-- Smile at someone you meet to-day--It can brighten their day.
Good morning, sis.
ReplyDeleteBright and beautiful here, but cold. The temp is only 10F
Love the photos. We need to cherish each other, and photos help us do that.
I don't remember you saying there was a concert last evening, but I knw what you mean by not having it in you. Often I plan to go to karaoke, too, and end up not doing it.
I still am in the process of cleaning out my large storage closet. I have things like folding chairs, suitcases, pet carriers and old afghans sitting in the living area. I will do more (hopefully get it done today) after my pain reliever works.
My mama got me started on personal/spiritual growth. When I came home at age 13 saying my friends didn't like me anymore (you know how an odd number...3 or 5) always gang up on one of them)...mama said, "Honey, if you WANT a friend, you have to BE a friend."
People usually treat you the way you treat them. Unless they are having trouble going on in their lives.
With all that said, I'm gonna play a game on my computer and then get to that closet. Be back later, Lynda. YOU have a great day. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
Maggie--I hope you do get that storage locker cleaned out--and I do like your Mom's advice on being a friend--a wise "Mom"--And yes, sometimes one just cannot get off the sofa--LOL--Lynda
DeleteIt is extremely cold here to-day--but sunny--Lynda
Deleteno snow fell today--=but it WAS COLD!_-Lynda
DeleteGood Morning,
ReplyDeleteCold and windy here and they are calling for snow tonight into tomorrow morning and then maybe some sleet and freezing rain thrown in for good measure tomorrow afternoon. I have an important medical test tomorrow afternoon . Luckily, the highway should be cleared by then and hubby is taking me.
Your niece had a good suggestion about the library, you could check out all they offer. I do think if you have a Senior Citizen Center near you, they have activities you could join such as Bingo nights, travel excursions, etc. It might be worth checking out. Maybe your breakfast friend could come to some of those things too so you don't have to go alone. Also, is there a YMCA near you, they have classes you could take, but you do have the join. Just a suggestion.
Whatever you do today, make it a good one!
Hugs,
Jackie
Yes whatever we do today , will be great!-- Poor you with freezing rain going your way--Freezing rain is the worst!--Lynda
DeleteJackie--It was a good day to-day-- Lynda
DeleteGood morning Lynda, happy March 1st to you. Getting closer to the 1st day of Spring. You didn't mention snow falling, so that's a good thing. Previously I thought you had mentioned becoming friends with a woman from you grief group. Maybe if another concert comes along, the two of you could go together. Maybe Dave would be interested as well. I hope your day goes well.
ReplyDeleteMaureen from California
Hi to you Maureen-- Yes I made some good friends at that Grief group----=and yes it is so nice to go somewhere with a friend--I get to do that quite often--This AM with Dave-- It is extremely cold outside this am--=but sunny---nice to come back here and be inside--Lynda
DeleteNo snow fell to-day--- Yeahhhhhh--Lynda
Deleteand we have St Pady's Day soon too, do we??--Lynda
ReplyDeleteYes we do--- and that is fun!-Lynda
DeleteHappy to see that you are more chipper today! I was so worried about you because of your memory test issue with your doctor! So worried that I only read your blog and did not even see the funny meme about being an old lady with her cat and wine! That's me! Except that I have given up the wine for Lent......and I do miss it. Both of my cats slept with me last night....usually it is only one or the other...they seem to take turns! Funny, huh? I am very much like you that I do not like to go to places by myself....I just don't. And especially since evening activities involve driving in the dark of night which I don't do either! Sigh. Being a widow means that we give up a lot of things that we used to do. But oh well - life is good if we make it good....by being positive and upbeat and being thankful for all of our blessings! Hope you have a wonderful day today!
ReplyDeleteSandra--I do not drive at night--and last night I just did not
Deletefeel like getting all dressed up==then have to ask my son (or sons) to drive me--Lynda-same as yu!---and yes, I am worried about that test on the 3rd-Lynda

ReplyDeleteI just read yesterday's blog that is so wrong to be forced to take a test that you do not want and to hold things over your head
I am so glad that things are better today I do like the library idea it sounds fun
Quote of the day
When one paints an ideal, one does not need to limit one's imagination.
Ellen Key
True--- about the painting quote--I do enjoy your quotes--Lynda
DeleteToo bad yu cannot be here to tell this DR., how wrong he is-- Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. Today we have sunshine but it's chilly outside. It always makes me feel better when the sun is shining. I have so much to do but I just don't want to do any of it. So I think maybe I'll take the day off! Now that I'm feeling better, finally, I see all the cleaning that I've neglected to do and it does need to be done - but tomorrow is another day for that! I also like the Library idea. I know that our. little library has lots of activities - some for children, others for adults. Wishing you a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteKathy--Did you take to-day off??-And yes, a visit to the Library may help me--Lynda-

Marge-- I sam so sorry for you to lose your man--Lynda
DeleteSo sorry, Marge.....no words can express can express the sympathy I feel for you. Being a widow is very hard. If you ever need to talk, I am here for you. I can send you my email & phone # if you want. I know you will be very busy the next few weeks....but just keep in touch through Lynda's blog for now. I am only about 30 miles from you on the IL side of the river. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!

ReplyDeletejust a quick quote for today
