It's morning--- and yesterday--no blog---I am so sorry--- You see, I got up--somehow ,I slipped. ----tripped on the rug in the bedroom, and, I went flying across the bedroom and---fell ---literally--My slippers got caught on the rug--=and down I fell;--flat on my face--blood everywhere-and I fell onto the floor----nothing broken-----but my "insides" wee quite shook up!-That is a terrible feeling--You feel yourself falling, but, there is nothing you can do t stop the fall--
Son #2 has returned from Brazil and London--It seems that everyone is flying these days!
I need to buy some planters--- fill them with flowers-- and when we move, I shall take them with me--and I want a hummingbird feeder --I do miss those wee little birds--I left so many of those feeders in Elliot Lake--
The picture above was taken in the computer room in Elliot --with my "Elliot Lake Hairdresser Hair!"
Are you feeling strong this morning?-- ready to tackle the day??-- --Is it raining in your area??--
I must get busy here--get Lopez out-- I shall read all your comments from a couple days ago--- later on-- Get your best "bib and Tucker on""--DO NOT FALL---as I did this ----It is a new day--and WE ARE A PART OF IT_To--DAY__--- Hugs to you all----Lynda
Glad you did no permanent damage. A suggestion, remove any throw rugs you have. They are a tripping hazard and you are better off without them Take care of yourself and enjoy the day!
ReplyDeleteYes! Rugs not recommended for "older" folks LOL. I say not even for younger folks. Just keep your slippers by the bed and you don't have to put feet on a cold floor if you don't have carpet.
DeleteI really am sore from that huge fall--My slippers somehow got stuck in the rug==sore==Lynda
DeleteIt was a bad fall-== just--SMASH and there I was face down opn the floor with a bleeding nose--=Lynda
DeleteTHIS WAS A ROOM SIZED RUG-- crazy```Lynda
DeleteGood morning Lynda, I was pleased to see your blog today as I was worried since you didn't blog yesterday. I am so sorry to hear about your fall, but grateful that you didn't break anything, particularly since you did a "face plant, and could easily have broken your nose.
ReplyDeleteIn the U.S. there's a device call LifeLine, which serves as a medical alert. You wear it around your neck, and if you fall or have some other type of medical emergency you can push a button for help. There's an agency that monitors it and it knows if you've had a fall. It would first call you, and if there's no response, they would contact a person you had designated. If there's no response there, they would contact law enforcement as a medical emergency. They probably have a similar service in Canada. You might consider purchasing this device once you move back to EL.
Take good care of yourself and have a wonderful day.
Maureen from California
Hi Maureen-- Yes my Mom had that --hung around her neck--very sore insides now--- Terrible fall---just smashed face down--- Lordy !-=Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. I'm so sorry about your fall. That's my biggest concern because I am still not very steady on my feet. I hope you are healing well! We did get some rain this morning, finally. It's been so dry and hot here - not normal for Minnesota. We are expecting more rain this afternoon, possible storms. And probably tomorrow as well. I'm okay with it - makes it possible for me to not work in the gardens for a couple of days. Then it's going to cool off which will be better for working outside. Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy--Matt and I bought plants at the Nursery---sore inside and a huge band aid on my nose-=Silly eh?--- Lynda
DeleteHello, it's Marti talking here. Do you have a walker? I have two, one folding one they give you when you have a knee replacement, and I have my mom's old walker, really, it's like new, it's pink, and has the breast cancer symbol on the seat. I've learned from my late neighbor that if you are at ALL unsteady on your feet, to ALWAYS use your walker. She used hers always, or she would have fallen so many times. I learned from her to never be too vain to use a walker when I eventually will need one! Best to be safe than sorry! :)
DeleteMarti--NO walker---but--I apprecioate the offer--good of yu-- I SHALL NEVER FALL AGAIN--( Lordy Be!)-- Much love and appreciation-Lynda
DeleteOh, Lynda! Glad you're OK! I know how those falls slow time down as you sort of "watch" yourself collapsing to the floor! (Can you tell I have some experience with this?)
ReplyDeleteHope you heal fully, and as quickly as possible!
Terrible when one falls--and I am so sore--=LOL--Lynda
DeleteSending you lots of well wishes! How scary! So sorry you went through all of that and have so many band aids. Geez! Nice the pilot is back to help you out. It is 81 in Ohio today and calling for bad storms late tonight. Be careful and enjoy your evening. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI heard Ohio getting a storm also--Lynda

Yes -I heard about your storm--I believe it hit Ohio also--Lynda
DeleteMarti here. Oh gosh, Lynda, so sorry to hear that! It's SO so easy to trip. I've tripped numerous times around here on the edges of throw rugs. I still have my balance, but if I didn't, oh boy, I have only laminate floors. The runners and rugs here and there are for the dog, he likes to lay on them. And no lie, for decoration as well. I went flying once, oh gosh, about 6 years ago. It was really my own fault. I had weighed myself, in my bathroom, not here, but back where I used to live. I stupidly left the scale sitting there, and when I went into the bathroom, tripped right on the edge of it, went flying forward, caught myself with my arms, but my head, as I remember it, hit the door at the end of the bathroom where the closet is. I remember being sore for days. And I was much younger than I am now...about 61, I believe. Can't believe I will be 67 on June 4th, eeks!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you survived your fall, though a bit battered and bruised ❤️🩹 Carol in FL
ReplyDeleteCarOl VERY BRUISED--lol--LYNDA
DeleteOuch! sorry about your fall, Lynda. it's easy to trip over those throw rugs, I have done it plenty of times especially if I am wearing my slippers.
ReplyDeleteJackie
Oh Jacki it was a bad fall;==my knee xtill sore--LYNDA
DeleteOh, my! Are these falls catching? Happy that you didn't break anything, but I am sure you have bruises that are sore. Sis, with no one there to help you, did you just doctor yourself or let an ambulance take you to the ER?
ReplyDeleteI am better. Found a way to get comfortable in bed. I'm doing therapy. Not much rest cuz ever time I think of snoozing, someone
wants information from me or wants to do something to me.
I miss Lucky! He is being cared for, but the ladies doing that say he won't even come out from under the bed while they are there.
I will be out of here next Wednesday or early Thursday.
Please be more careful of trip hazards like throw rugs and pets and feel better fast. Glad you got your groceries and that Matt is coming home.
Social worker coming now. {{{HUGS}} Love, Maggie
That fall does not sound like any kind of good thrill!!! So glad you didn't break anything. I always laugh and say I don't bounce up like I used to when I fall. Part if the reason I'm going to the gym in addition to doing physical therapy moves at home is to build more muscle and try to be more fall-proof. Thankfully you've stayed active and busy so that you're in better shape than if you had been sedentary.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! (I've been out of town for a little road trip with an old friend.)
