Good day-- sunshine with lollipops --no blog yesterday as I had an emergency trip to Peterborough to see an Eye Specialist---who told me that I did have Macular Degeneration-- but that was not the cause of the blurriness of my eye sight, and that he could clear the lens in my eyes--and will do it this month--
I was so relieved----so, there is hope that I will still have my sight-- He said the Drs in Sudbury where I went every year, had noted that the Macular thing was written in my chart--but----THEY NEVER TOLD ME THAT!--AND I NEVER GOT TO READ MY CHART--- Those charts do not seem to be shown too much to us!!
-My Mom had the Macular thing--went blind-- but that was many years ago---Hopefully things have changed somewhat!
I hope that your day is going well-- I missed you all yesterday-- I hope you went thru yesterday, with your chin up, as Dad used to say--faced the day with courage and knowledge that the day was unfolding the way it should!--Yes, start now and make a brand new ending!!It is hard to be strong everyday--but----- so important-----but if you do end up in tears, for some reason, try to find the strength to make the rest of your day the best ever..--Only you can do that!
Lopez needs to get out-
Good morning.
ReplyDeleteSure missed you and hoped you were ok.
MacD. I have it. I use drops. Not to worry Lynda they will help you.
Liked the inserts....the treadmill one is so true..well all of them!
Make today a positive sunny day for you
Hugs, much love
Marge/St.Louis
Oh Marge--Its good to be back-=-with all of yu-- was quite worried about the fuzziness in my sight-but was told 50% of people within 2 yrs get this after cataract surgery--They probably told me after the surgery but I forgot-- so--it is a common thing and they will lazar the lens--soon-- It IS a sunny day here--very nice----and Mother's Day to-morrow--Hugs, Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda. Marge again
ReplyDeleteThe procedure is a simple lazer procedure and very common. YAG I believe is the name. Himself had it after cataracts removal.
Enjoy TODAY.
That is it-yes-- Too bad they don't tell us all that eh??--Here I thought it was going to be another problem--Lynda
DeleteGood morning, sis.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have not seen replies to our comments for several days.
I'm surprised your other doc did not tell you of your MD! Then you could have started taking the eye vitamins and paid more attention to sun glasses sooner!!! It's just not fair.
That drive with uncomfortable eyse must not have been pleasant.
JoAnne (who you talked to on the phone with me) has been transported to a large Minneapolis hospital for evaluation. Her MD is pretty bad. She has a pacemaker, too. She fell. Rescue squad, ambulance and police all came to rescue her.
Will try to get more done here, and my check will post this afternoon. I will start with figuring whic bills must be paid now and so it.
Lopez is precious! If he hasn't told you he needs to go out yet, I wouldn't worry about it.
It's beautiful weather here! Sunny, blue sky, up to 80F this afternoon.
I'll check back again later, as always. DO make it a better day, Lynda. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
It's Kathy. I'm glad you got some good news at the Eye Doctor's. I think it's important that we are able to read what the doctors put in our charts. Although yesterday I read a letter written "to whom it may concern" which was not completely accurate and I wasn't very happy. So I asked and was told they wrote that to the Insurance Company so my MRI would be covered! I had an MRI of my brain yesterday. Turns out that my brain is just fine - and not the cause of my balance and dizziness issues! Both my parents passed away in their early 80's from stroke, so that is my biggest worry. But things look good! I had myself a rather rocky morning with my dear husband - we found out yesterday that our DIL's grandmother passed away last week and the funeral was Wednesday but no one told us until Thursday. That kind of hurts and my husband things I'm being overly dramatic! He just blocks out all those hurt feelings - I can't! I hope you have a great day today! I'm going to get the hoses hooked up because things need to be watered! Either too much rain or not enough!!!
ReplyDeleteMacular Degeneration; my grandmother had that. I recall her vision was impacted but she did not lose her sight altogether. Clearing the lenses; I remember when I had my cataract surgeries, my opthalmogist mentioned some folks experience a little build-up which can be removed with laser. When you move back to Elliot you may need to go in with a list of questions when you visit your opthalmologist...I learned to ask lots of questions and be persistent until I understood when my daughter had cancer. I've never had a doctor act annoyed; a couple of my doctors have mentioned they liked it, as often patients want a pill to ""fix it."
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute picture of Mr. Lopez!! I know he had some bitey problems a while back and you were working with a trainer to help you both so that he knew better what to do. How did that work out? Are you still seeing her? Is Mr. Lopez calmer now?
Gotta go; chores and Bible study are calling my name. :D
Happy Friday!
Good afternoon, I missed not seeing your blog yesterday. I try to
ReplyDeleteread them but sometimes I just don't have time to respond.
I am glad they can fix your eyes. I still have trouble w/my left eye and now my right eye has glaucoma. I have been taking drops for over 2 years but the pressure is not coming down where he wants it. I had laser on my right eye but it didn't do much so I am to continue the drops for another 6 months and then he will go from there. My left eye, I can't see very well and w/out my glasses I see double or pictures on the wall appears like they are at an angle. Dan puts the drops in my eyes, I am not sure what I would do if he wasn't here. I wish you the best with the laser surgery. Keep us posted when that will be so I can say prayers for you. By the way what do you think of the New Pope. From Chicago no less. It is remarkable and I hope he can help find peace on the beautiful earth!
Your old friend from Sparkpeople Bev
Happy Friday, Lynda! Missed you yesterday. Glad you are ok and your eyes are ok! Beautiful and sunny in Ohio. Ahh! Sweet little Lopez! Bring him to Medina soon. He and Tommy would have so much fun while we eat ice cream. LOL! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOH my. My maternal grandmother had macular degeneration, too. I hope that things go well for you.

That is very good news from the eye doctor. I'm glad that there is something that can be done. I have diabetes so I have to go every year for an exam and so far, thank you Jesus, I have not had any problems except for dry eyes. Had Lasik back in 2001 and they never told me that I had to use eye drops on a regular basis. They have come a long way with the treatment of eye problems. Wishing you the best.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynda, the cleaning up of the lens is easy peasy. I had cataract surgery in 2014 and last year had the lens "cleaned". it made all the difference. Early Happy Mothers' Days wishes to you.
ReplyDeleteIs Lopez wearing his new harness that you spoke of recently?
Maureen from California
Hi Lynda: Glad to hear from you. We all worry about you when you miss a day! Interesting about your eyes. I think I have to have that clearing thing done with my eyes too. But since I am also getting other things done to my one eye every couple of months will have to ask about it. Hope you can see well enough to drive. Lopez looks cute in his picture. Take care. Hugs Brenda
