Good morning, Lynda! Hope your day goes better! A dog fight sounds terrible! Your son inlaw from Medina? Didn’t know they had a husky. It is going to be beautiful in Ohio today. Sun is out and birds are singing. I hear Tommy downstairs pestering my husband to play ball. He is obsessed with balls. We thought it would be cute teaching him as a puppy to play fetch. He has so many balls and that’s all he wants to do! Lol! How is everything with you this morning? Hope it’s a great day! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI laughed at how hard it is to say “no”. That is true for most women. Now that I am in my 70”s, I have started to say “no” and it is very freeing.
ReplyDelete“No, thank you for the invitation, but I will have to pass on attending that”, “no, I appreciate the offer, but I don’t really need that, I am at the stage of getting rid of things, not collecting more”, etc. So look at the albums and books, and then put them in the “no” pile,. It sounds like you may learn that the word “no” is a very useful word, at times. Good luck!

It's Kathy. I think your nephew should have called and asked you if you wanted those boxes - would have saved him time and you the stress of now having to figure out what to do with them. I always had a problem saying no until... I had 3 children under 7 and then gave birth to twins! It was the greatest excuse ever "I'm sorry, but I just had twins!" That was almost 43 years ago but a lesson well learned! Sounds like you have figured it out now too! I hope you have a lovely day. We have sunshine with rain coming tomorrow so it's outside work for me today!
ReplyDeleteFor sure, people pleasing has been an issue for me all my life, too. But eventually, we do learn!
ReplyDeleteHope wee Lopez is ok after the trauma yesterday. My gosh, if it's not one thing it's 10 others, right!
HUGS and blessings and peace to you and little Lopez

Lynda, was it your son-in-law or nephew who brought those boxes or did they both come?
ReplyDeleteI agree with your sentiments, except, rather than vocalize a negative thought...pivot...think and say a better thought. Again, teachings from the Law of Attraction.
You will have lots of help moving.
Hope the dogs warmed up to each other. Dog fights are not fun!!
My daughter is in the laundry room now. She's driven almost an hour to help me out with laundry and other things. What a joy!
Don't hurt quite as much today. Every night I sleep a bit better, hurt a bit less. I will get there. Of course, I couldn't get to karaoke last night. Didn't miss it at all...hmm.
Cindy will come back into the aparartment in a minute, so I will end my comment and check back later.
Hope the rest of your day proceeds better. {{{HUGS}}}, Love, your sis, Maggie
My free advice - which is worth what you are paying for it - is to sit down and go down memory lane while going through the boxes and then dispose of the 99% you don't want. There may be a few gems in there that you will be glad to see again and reminisce about. Doesn't mean you have to keep them but nice project for a rainy day.
ReplyDeletePoor Mr. Lopez!! That must have been terrifying for him.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you can easily say goodbye to everything you no longer will use or enjoy ... life is easier without too much stuff. I continue to let things to.
Hi Lynda, NO is a complete sentence. You really do not want more stuff. You've probably figured out that you brought too much stuff when you moved there. I do hope you are using this time to seriously look at possessions and if you haven't used IT since you've been in the apartment...you probably don't need it.
ReplyDeleteWe have a,bit of sun in Sr.Louis but very chilly. Rain returns tomorrow but we're having a break with a wee bit of sunshine.
Take care of you
Hugs and love

Poor Lopez. Hoping the rest of the visit went better between the dogs.
Great idea to say no when it's something you would rather not do!! Donna from Illinois
ReplyDeleteThe older I get, the more willing I am to say "no" when I really want to say "no". And only second-guess a little bit. LOL!
