Choose to be happy to-day!

Good day to you --It is  hot here--humid also--  with thunder storms predicted this afternoon.

Lopez and I have walked the trail and he did his business---and  breakfast is ready for both Sushi and him--They are so fortunate to have me  prepare everything they need---That is what Moms do I guess!--

Himself used to do that for me---Now I must try to be strong--No! Now I AM STRONG and I do "stuff" myself--

TRUST in MYSELF! -----Lordy be!----Life changes as we age doesn't it?--

Last evening, Son#2 and I went out for supper--ordered wings--at a restaurant just up the trail from here--
Did I tell you about the trails around here?--  They are paved---and there are many trails---  bikers use them-- older people on bicycles--- so many  older citizens  live in this area, and they all have a dog--mostly small dogs--  It's the dog that keeps them walking  the trails--
Along the trails are benches--and concrete stones with people's names who have donated some $$$   to keep the trails open and clean--

and yes--  all ages walk, or ride their bikes etc all over the paved trails--and everyone picks up their doggie's poo poo----bags it and carries it home--I believe their pooch keeps these people healthy and facing everyday.--Also, their friends help these people to face everyday ---

But--I am still returning  to the North--As different and as nice  life is here, I miss the North--I miss my kids-- and the lakes--and even the rocks--and of course, all the people-my friends, who live in the North--

So--  This day begins-- Are you feeling strong??--

A Blast from the Past--- Dunlop Lake--on a foggy day--
a wedding in Jamaica and we are all there---

I hope you choose to be happy to-day--

  1. Good morning, sis.
I know you have talked about the trails. I am pleased that you and Lopez enjoy them.
Your photos from the past are always great, and I love that last meme, especially.
It's bright here, but not really sunny. It is to be 80F this afternoon, though. I had the window fan on all night, but I haven't had to turn on the air conditioner yet.
I may try to get my garbage and recylclables down myself today. 'Becca has been doing it.
Have you done any more packing or chosen a moving company yet? For the piano, too? I know it's hard to wait for something exciting.
Like I am trying to hold out until Saturday before I drive.
I have good news, though. I slept 2 hours longer before having to wake up this morning...and didn't need an extra dose of pain reliever! I'm no longer using the lidocaine patches, either. "Every day in every way, I'm getting better and better." Emile Coue. You are, too. All we have to is believe it!
Have a great day, Lynda. That's my wish for you every day. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  2. Hi Lynda, YOU are strong…you’ve been managing everything for quite some time, and continue to do an outstanding job, in my opinion. Of course you are sad, your entire life as you’ve known it for decades has been rocked to the core. Your grief is certainly normal and expected…there is no timeline. But, doing what you need to do for yourself, Lopez, and Sushi is a must and is your reason to remain as independent as you can. Your return move to the familiar area where your heart is and where you feel most comfortable will soon be here. Pretend that you’re on vacation now and see/do what the area offers before you move away!

  3. Hi Lynda! We have the same weather forecast for Ohio today. The trails sound very nice. It would be great if they had doggie poo bags and waste cans made for that like some places do. Yes, your fur babies are very lucky to have you for their mom. I know you will be happier up North and that will be so nice! Hope your day is going well! Hugs!

  4. Hi Lynda: Nice that you went out for wings with /Matt. Guess he's not too mad at you moving back so soon. That is a nice area but it's not EL. Sure is hot today, Think it's going to be like this all week. My dog helps to keep me healthier by walking her and we have to do the poo bag pickup too. Have a good night, Brenda

  5. Hi Lynda, it's Kathy. We had a lovely Anniversary day. Finished it with ribs and wings from our favorite restaurant. Haven't been in at least 2 years but had the very same wait person! Tragedy struck my town early Saturday morning. A mad mad posed as a police officer, gained access to the home and shot several times one of our lawmakers and his wife. They both made it to the hospital and luckily are recovering. He then proceeded to go to 2 other homes - one the lawmaker and family were out of town, the second a police officer had driven up to check on that lawmaker so he drove off. He then went to another home very near us and killed the lawmaker and her husband AND their dog! But the police arrived just as he was leaving the home. He got away and they hunted for him with several police departments and the FBI. He was finally caught about 9 pm Sunday night. It hurts my heart and it hurts my head. He had a list of 44 lawmakers he wanted to kill. WHY??? They don't really know yet. We were asked to shelter in place until they knew he was out of our area. I just want you to know that your blogs have been a source of sanity for me these past several days! We have trails like that around our home - I just haven't been up to walking Daisy. It's very warm here too - we had some bad storms on Monday! My garden is planted - finally. Now I have to wait to see if anything grows! Have a good afternoon.

  6. Hi Lynda
I'm running way behind today. Another busy long day.
Rain, storms and very humid here.
Nice that you and Matt went out. He's a fine man.
    Stay strong.
Your current town does sound lovely.
