Remember-I Luvs Ya!

Hello there-- It looks mighty much like it will rain to-day --but that is OK--I do have a lot to do inside here.
- But, first, I must tell you about "UBER EATS"--Our daughter has been telling me about this "Uber App" which you put on your phone, and when you want , say dinner, from a restaurant in Peterborough, you type in "Uber Eats" and they deliver the meal,-- for a fee of course.-
-So, this evening I am trying it--and I shall let you know how I make out.  They think of everything these days--For people like me, living in a strange city, it sounds like a wee bit of Heaven. I shall let you know just how I made out.

So, the bench, in memory of  my dear husband , is now sitting in front of Huron Lodge--in Elliot Lake.
And the plaque will eventually be put on it--

This husband of mine, did not want a "celebration of life"--so this is what the  grown kids decided they would do--

A few photos---"blasts from the past"--
Fred with grandson, Jacob--

Myself , with my 2 sisters--Mary Beth and Sandra--I believe we were dressed for church.
Fred and his brother--Murray--a professor, Waterloo
Above--on the beach at Port Stanley--my young sister Sandra in front,  back row--  My older sister Mary Beth, my brother Wayne, myself,  and Johnny on the top row, and in front of him, Johnny's sister, Linda

So---How on earth is your day going?-- Is it raining where you live?---Are you happy?---  Is it going to be a good day---It can be a good day, IF YOU DECIDE TO MAKE IT A GOOD DAY__!!!!!!
and---I know you will!!!

  1. Good morning, sis. What great photos. You have so many family memories.
And I love the idea of the bench and the plaque, too. What a great way to honor Himself!
It's not raining here but an inch of the wet stuff is predicted for later today. Now it's sunny but hazy.
I have an Amazon return to do today. I may have Rebecca take me to the UPS store to do that, and I really need to get quarters in exchange for a $20 from our office manager. Laundry never ends when you cound sheets, towels, throw rugs, blankets....
You say you have lots to do inside. We are each facing that never-ending list of chores.
Remember to do something you love to do, too. Like love on your pets, play music (maybe on the piano), read, nap...
We WILL make it a good day! I haven't even felt the need to take pain reliever yet. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  2. Good morning, Lynda! Cloudy with off and on rain in Ohio today. I love the bench! What a beautiful idea! Love the photos, too! The one in dresses is so lovely! Yes, Door Dash is a thing, too. Never used any of the food services but it is really popular. Hope it goes great for you. Let us know. Have a wonderful day. Hugs!

  3. Good Morning, Lynda,
Loved the blast from the past photos! Thanks for sharing them.
The bench in himself's honor is really awesome. I understand why you and the children are trying to honor his wishes of no celebration of life, but maybe do it because it might give you some closure (for lack of a better term) in dealing with the grief of losing him. It might be comforting to hear how much he was loved and appreciated in the community. Just a thought.
    Have a good day!

  4. Good morning Lynda,
I love all the photos you shared w/us. Must bring back fond memories of days gone by. I really like the idea of the bench.
It is not raining here; I am waiting for it to dry so I can work out in the yard. It should be easy to pull weeds.
My peonies were so beautiful this year. They are almost done for the season. I hope it goes well with ordering your food. Hubby and I did that when we were in AZ and it cost more than the food after we left them a tip.
    Take care
    Your friend Bev

  5. It's Kathy. I am going to make today a good day. I've been outside (very hot in the sun) to get some of the weeds out of my herb garden. Later on today I'll make sure everything is watered and if I can find a shady spot, I'll do some more weeding. Tomorrow they say we'll have storms but they're hardly ever right these days! Then very hot for the weekend which pretty much means I'll be inside and will likely have to turn on the A/C. I put Daisy inside while I weeded this morning - she doesn't like that but she was so uncomfortable! I need to brush her this afternoon and she won't like that, but we need to get her coat thinned out some. I love the flash back photos and it's nice to remember himself. Honestly, I miss him too! I love the bench and the plaque, what a thoughtful thing to do as a memory of a very special man! I hope you have a good day!

  6. Hi Lynda,
Hot and sunny here. Going to be close to 100F next week. Crazy weather.
The bench is a GREAT idea.
A celebration of life might be good for you. An open house at the Lodge for you and your kids might be something to consider.
    Thanks for sharing famiky pictures.
The Uber eats thing is nice BUT quite costly. Let us know what you think.
    Enjoy your day.

  8. Hi Lynda! I've been using Doordash and Grubhub for a long, long time, but I've never used Uber Eats yet. I think they're all kinda the same. You didn't know about them?

I'm thinking that may be why you are grieving so, funerals, and celebrations of life, help bring closure. Like, an open casket, old friends coming, things said, song sung, you know. You never got to experience any of that. It's too bad.

Anyway, my day was good. It's looking like a storm yet again, but this weekend is supposed to be very hot and sunny to partly cloudy, and my friend is coming from out of town to celebrate our June birthdays, and we intend to go swimming, it may be the only opportunity, as this rate, as it's always crappy weather on the weekend anymore! :)

  9. What a wonderful way to remember Himself. LOVE the photos. Lovely memories.

Challenging day. The washer decided to give out, with a full load in it. Got the laundry out, tech to come out tomorrow. Hope it can be fixed!

    hugs and blessings
