Aging is a gift to wear with dignity-

It is Friday, December 26th-- We have heavy snow falling and it looks quite deep--which means--later on--I must shovel--  Yuckers!!--  Good thing I am not planning on going anywhere-- Good thing I went to the Blood Lab the day before Xmas--and it feels so cold in here---I have the heat turned up--and the bed made-- and my buddy, Lopez and wee Sushi and I are up and at-er--another day to "get it right"

Never lose hope!--So true isn't it??

Good thing that we are strong and determined to do whatever we must----and--  I hope your Christmas was wonderful---  even , "just good"----that you survived the chaos--and made your family happy and tried to not overspend--  Looking back over the years, I know I pretty much always overspent, at Christmas--We had 5 children who wanted everything--Below--Himself, with son#2, #3 and #4---

and-- above--here we all are--together, on the back deck

                        below--  Himself with his brother

Blasts from the past- good memories--

Last night I was invited to have SUPPER with  Son#3 and his family--It was wonderful--so good to eat with people--
I received a gift from Son#1 and his wife--  a necklace with Fred's picture on it--also Himself's ashes--a tiny bit of them--hanging in a pendant on the necklace--so, when I wear the necklace, a bit of Himself is always with me-very nice!

Words of WiSDOM__

#1.It takes great strength to be happy

#2.Age can teach contentment.

#3. You can have anything you want, but you can't have everything you want.

so--- I must gather up the laundry--  get it in the washer--check the heat--and assess the weather outside--Son#2 , the Pilot, has a Birthday coming soon--on the 28th-- It is still dark outside--looks so cold!-- It is a new day--and here we are--a part of it--

  1. Good Morning Lynda,
So glad you had Christmas dinner with Son#3 and family. No one wants to be alone at Christmas.
The necklace sounds lovely and very thoughtful. Yes, you will have Fred with you always.
Did Santa leave Sushi and Lopez any Christmas gifts?

Be careful shoveling and have a wonderful day!

    Hugs,
    Jackie

  2. Good morning, sis.

Please keep all that snow in Canada! We do have snow predicted for Sunday, so I know it won't stay by you. Now it's 36Fand cloudy.

Love your blasts! Always great memories. And what marvelous gifts you received in the necklaces.

My daughter overdid it with gifts for me, too. And I'm still eating lasagne from her meal. I gave some to three friends, too. I may have to just freeze the rest.

Today I plan to get my kitchen and bathroom floors washed and, maybe, sheets and towels, too.

    I saved that Rumi quote.

I'll be back later, Lynda. Please be careful walking Lopez and shoveling. I know you always are. This is just a reminder from someone who cares. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  4. Good morning Lynda, the gift from Son #1 is such a thoughtful gift. Fred will be with you all the time. Stay safe in all that snow. Turn the furnace up, play the piano and read a good book.

  5. Hi Lynda
I have trouble understanding #3. First, he wont let you in...then he has everyone over Christmas Eve and your invited again Christmas day. Glad you weren't alone. I just don't understand him.
The necklace w/ashes sounds very special. Very kind and unique gift from #1. Im glad the Christmas stuff is over!!! Yes, I always spend too much.
    Loved the words of wisdom.
Perhaps your hired snow help will show up and you wont have to shovel. Yay
Be careful out there if you must go out.

  6. Stay safe w/the snow. I still cannot believe that the landlord doesn’t shovel! *SIGH* Sounds like a good day to stay put.

    Lovely photos from the past.

Awwww, glad you were able to have supper w/son #3. Nice. AWWWWW!! What a thoughtful gift they gave you. Indeed, now you have a part of Fred w/you all the time. ((HUGS))

Love your words of wisdom. It really DOES take strength to be happy sometimes. For sure age teaches us contentment. And YES, something the younger generation has to learn . . . you can have anything but can’t have everything!

    Happy birthday to son #2.

Absolutely adore that Meryl Streep quote. SOOOOO full of truth.

    HUGS and blessings
