Yesterday, my friend , who I never knew before, called me and said she had received a flyer, in the mail, telling her , a person would clean the interior of her vehicle for a good price-- She called and asked if I wanted to bring my car over also--have all the Chihuahua hairs vacuumed up--- Hmmm--sounded good to me--so, even in a bad snow storm, I settled Lopez in his bed (which is now my good leather chair)---and I drove very carefully over to her home--on the slippery roads--and now I have a very clean interior of my vehicle.-
I never knew my friend before all this Bereavement stuff-- Funny what the good Lord presents to you when you need it--like--who would ever think?---
So, This is Monday-a new week-- December 1st-----and here we all are-- trying to help Santa get ready for Christmas--
Words of Wisdom--
#1. Rise early--
#2--The only way to have a friend is to be one!
#3--Seek respect--and below---Xmas with 5 children--It must've taken me forever to wrap all that!
So--I must get moving here-_ get Lopez out-- put on my heavy parka-- -- Hoping that your day goes well--It will if you try to be strong-- and happy--and I will return later--nnDecember 12st--
Good Monday Morning, Lynda,
ReplyDeleteHow nice that your new friend alerted you to the car cleaning.
We are supposed to get some snow here this evening too. So, I am going to go do my Monday grocery shopping soon because if I wait until after my workout, it will be crazy because around here if snow is mentioned, everyone thinks the white death is coming and races to the store for bread, milk, etc. It's crazy!
Hope you and Lopez are all bundled up for his walk.
Have a good day!
Jackie
Good morning, sis!
ReplyDeleteOur snow has stopped falling, but it's cold...7F!
My mom told me years ago when I was 12 or 13 (girls that age tend to be groups of 3 or 5 and one is usually being picked on and this time it was me): to HAVE a friend, you need to BE a friend. That kinda got me started on personal growth.
That pile of gifts! Wow...it must've taken forever to wrap! Did they all fit under the tree? We used to wrap presents from family...and leave Santa's gifts unwrapped. When the kids awoke, they got those first. The wrapped ones waited 'til after breakfast.
Glad you got your car 'detailed.' I did not too long ago, too. You'd never know it now!
The bereavement course is really helping you...you're making new friends! You won't feel so lonely.
Lopez sleeps in a leather chair? Lucky ruined one of mine. He has to be the last declawed cat in Minnesota, but (I didn't know this) cats can't retract their back claws!
Love those older ladies exercising in DRESSES?!
Seek respect? The only way to get that is to respect others!
I'll be back later, Lynda. Make your day a happy one, and I will, too! {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
Your bereavement program is opening doors for you, not only in helping you accept and manage your life as it is now, but also the possibility of friendship. It's not easy to make new friends as we age, and it takes courage to reach out to someone to test the waters -- which is exactly what your new friend did. She obviously feels your warm heart through your group sessions. Good for you for saying "yes" to her offer, and you have a clean car as a bonus.
ReplyDeleteThat pile of gifts is overwhelming! Wrapping them all after all in-person shopping (no Amazon back then!) for the special things on the wish lists. The magic may be gone once they reach the age where they prefer money or gift cards or food baskets, but it sure is a lot easier. Hugs / Leslie
I think there is a bible verse (and I can't remember even the book of the bible it's in) about how God sets the solitary in families. That looks like God's hand in putting you with new friends via that bereavement class!
