"Christmas Day, 2025"

It is THURSDAY-- DECEMBER 25th---  CHRISTMAS DAY 2025

It is DARK here still-probably cold outside---but, here we are--a part of to-day--Christmas day--I Shall return--must get the HERD up--Lopez and Sushi---           --in the meantime---
Last night we were at Son#3's home for dinner--a special dinner--Christmas--  Son#3 and his family, put on a wonderful meal--lots of talk about their Dad-and how much we all missed him--We are coping however--  I try to remember that he was an amazing person-- very devoted to his family--and -- to-day , with so many  memories, we are remembering--good memories---Below---  Fred---before I even knew him--
-so--  pictures of the past--memories--how our life began--  meant in Ottawa at the Ottawa Civic Hospital--married in 1967----

The above picture- I was expecting Son#2----Son#1, is the wee boy in the front row--on the left---

The beach in Elliot Lake--one of the beaches--one huge
reason we decided to stay here--

Anyway, It is Christmas--The sun is out--and we are going to make the best  of to-day--Go For It!__and-- I will look on you all later--Go on--get offa here.

  2. Happy Christmas morning, sis.

It's cloudy here but almost above freezing.

Love your blasts from the past, especially the photo of you and Himself at the time of your wedding.

I'm just taking the day off today after all the excitement yesterday at my daughter's house. I finally found gifts for my son-in-law that he loved. I've bombed out on that one in past years.

My daughter sent me home with SO MUCH lasagne...from a well-known Italian deli near her...and peanut butter pie. I had enough to share and for lunch and supper tonight.

Lucky is needing attention now...wanting to play before he takes his morning nap.

I'll be back later! {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  5. Hi Lynda: Merry Christmas to you, Lopez & Sushi. And to the rest of your family. Hopefully you are going to one of your other sons today and it will be a good day. May Fred drop by to see you today. Have a great day. For me it's just me and my dog! Was hoping to go shopping tomorrow but it sounds like we are going to get lots of snow then. Hugs Brenda

  11. Merry Christmas Lynda. Glad to hear dinner last night at #3 went well. I was wondering, based on the reception you go when you tried to see granddaughters. Are you going to a different sons today?
We just came home from sons house. Plenty of good food and an enjoyable day. It's 60sF in St.Louis. Foggy this morning.
    Take care, relax.

  13. Hi, I'm back from my cousin's in Columbus, Ohio. Just 5 of us. All went well except my cousin seems to be getting dementia a bit (she's 81), she and her husband squabble more (he might be getting it also), and my other (late) cousin's wife's son threw his back out and we had to drop him at the ER when we got back. He says they just give him two shots, muscle relaxant or something and he's as good as new. But we had to leave early, skip his birthday celebration and dessert, and GO. His mom drove us back.

Hope you've had a good day, whatever you did! :)

  14. What a lovely way to spend Christmas, remembering and cherishing this year that is a first without Fred's physical presence. Grief has no rules, but being together with those who also loved him echoes some of what my sisters and I did the first year that our dad was not with us. Grateful for the time you had with each other, even as someone who knows you only online. You were a handsome couple, and your children are your legacy. Blessings!

  16. It's Kathy. I must have shut down before you posted your blog - or I forgot to look later in the day. I'm so happy to hear that you were able to share happy memories of himself. At our Christmas Eve celebration we remembered family members who were no longer with us - for me it's my Dad that I miss most. He always made things better in our lives! Love all the photos - himself was very handsome!

  17. I am catching up on your blogs and enjoy reading them. I don't usually comment, but am, today.
So many happy memories of Fred, it's like he is right there beside you, guiding you, and keeping you company.
It is very cold here in southwestern Ontario, but it makes it nicer to stay inside, where it's so cozy and warm.
    Hugs, Gloria xoxo
