Kindness is dearer than gold!

It is Wednesday, Feb. 18th--my young sister's Birthday to-day--and it is cold outside--overcast with snow predicted to fall shortly--Lopez and Lola and I are up--Sushi also--

Yes, We have a guest visiting us for a few days--Lola--Son#3's dog-Lola--  Son#3 and wife are driving their daughters back to school--well, University--Lola decided to sleep last night in the living room--not upstairs with the rest of us--

Below is Lopez--on "MY" sofa ----his favourite place  in the day--

and, it is very cold and windy outside--I must tell yu all also that I now have a new windshield on my vehicle--Our insurance covered most of the cost --but--with a $500 down payment--A Car Windshield must be costly plus they kept my car the whole day--

I am supposed to meet Dave for breakfast, but, I am kind of  watching the weather--  It looks much like "freezing Rain" might descend upon us-- so. that might just put the "Kybosh" on those plans-(Mom's expression of course!)

So--"STRONG"--Be Strong--#1.Enter a room like you own the place

#2.You have no right to judge others!

#3.The time to be happy is now!

Above--  My Mom and Dad , in Ottawa, in front of their house, with Andrew and Myself--many many
"moons" ago
So, I must get ready for my "date with Dave"-breakfast sounds good right now--
I hope that you are feeling strong--Remember, if you think you can, you can!---Fall seven times, stand up eight!-- If you live fearing death, then you do not live! Don't take yourself too seriously!--and, a sense of humour reduces people and problems to their proper proportion!
Kindness is dearer than gold!!
(so much to remember eh???)LOLOLOL

  1. Good morning, Lynda! It is high 61 and rain coming soon in Ohio. I hope you get to meet Dave this morning. Lola is a good girl. Will you crate her when you leave? Lopez is a good boy, too. My yorkies would not let me leave a leash on them. LOL! Usually, I see windshield repair vans at homes for a two hour repair or less. Love the double wedding. I’ve always thought how neat. Have a wonderful Wednesday! It is Ash Wednesday. Hugs!

  2. Good Morning,
Ah, Lola's a cutie too. Do Lopez and Lola get along ok?
Wow, that's an expensive windshield. I think in Kentucky, our insurance covers replacement of a windshield. It's been a while since I had to and I hope I don't have to again. Plus, there are companies that come to your house to replace it, which is convenient.
Loved all the Blast from the Past pictures you posted. Good Memories, I am sure.
Have a nice brunch with Dave. Hope the freezing rain stays away.

    Hugs,
    Jackie

  3. Good morning, sis.

We are under a winter storm warning again. Bye bye springlike weather for now. Only expecting 2-4 inches of snow, wind, freezing rain first as it's still above freezing.

Darn! I really thought we were going to have an early spring. It may still materialize, but not yet.

Your photos are amazing, as always. Two weddings in Jamaica. Wonderful.

Breakfast...or brunch...with Dave sounds great. Can I come, too? We can always use more friends.

Your one comment reminds me of something I saw on Facebook (I think it was just yesterday). It said that it was Random Acts of Kindness day. Remember the old saying, " PRACTICE RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS AND SENSELESS ACTS OF BEAUTY?" It was from Anne Herbert, though others are credited with the quote also.

On to chores, games, nap, more laundry? I'll be back later, Lynda. Didn't see any replies on yesterday's blog. Have fun with Dave and be careful with that snow! {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  4. Good morning Lynda, I hope you were able to meet up with Dave to enjoy a meal together and good conversation. Lola is a cute dog. I imagine the two of them, Lola and Lopez, get along or you would put one or the other into a crate. You have such amazing photos and I'm pleased that you shared them with us. Sorry it's so cold. Enjoy the rest of your day.

  5. It's Kathy. As yesterday moved along, the colder air was blowing in on some pretty strong winds. Right now it's raining/snowing - not really sticking on the ground but it wasn't very fun driving in it. I went to the gym for my Pilates class. Turned out there were only 2 of us so Michelle, our instructor, was able to really take her time correcting us. It was a really good class. But I believe I am in for the day now. I do hope you got to have breakfast and got home safely before the bad weather come!

  6. 8 skiers dead after avalanche near California's Lake Tahoe; 9th still missing
    By Cecilio Padilla
    Updated on: February 18, 2026 / 2:28 PM EST / CBS Sacramento

    Add CBS News on Google
Authorities said eight of the nine skiers reported missing after an avalanche near California's Lake Tahoe have been found dead, with a search still ongoing for the last missing skier.

The avalanche was reported near Castle Peak in Nevada County, north of Boreal Mountain Ski Resort, around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday as a heavy snowstorm moved through Northern California, bringing blizzard conditions to higher elevations.

A total of 15 backcountry skiers were involved in the avalanche, the Nevada County Sheriff's Office reported, with six of those people surviving and being rescued from the site.

Pray for their families and for the 9th skier.

  7. Oh I forgot you had company, Lola. Hope she and Sushi are getting along.

Oh my, well glad your insurance pd. part of the cost of the new windshield.

Freezing rain . . . not good for driving, that’s for sure. Yup. That would put the kybosh on car travel.

If there is any time to be happy it is right now! For sure.

Awwww, the brides and grooms look happy!

Love the blast from the past of you and your parents w/Andrew.

Glad that the weather cooperated for you to go to breakfast. So good to get out.

    Hugs and blessings

  8. Hi, amazing how the weather can be so different in differnent places! Here in Central Ohio, we currently have sun and 64 degrees! I was sweating at exercise today!

I learned a way to be productive finally at work - the new girl kept talking to me, but not loud enough to understand, even, and the two girls on the other side of me kept chatting too. I was about to lose it, so I put in my earbuds, BOTH of them, and listened to bird sounds all the rest of the day! I was VERY productive! Such a change from a room by myself to 10 million different sounds going off at once, the shipper, the posters, the people digging through the bins, arghhh!
