Smiles---not tears!

It is Tuesday February 17th--dark--cold--I hear the washer, draining--Lopez and I are up---son#3 came last night and took my car over to have the windshield replaced--so, I have no vehicle for now--I think it is mild outside--haven't been out yet--I must get the garbage out by the road----so, yes I will return shortly--It is a brand new day starting--and--                    We are a part of to-day!
pictures of Son#2's-- home-- on the lake with lots of snow--
So, I am trying to be normal--like happy--trying not to cry-- to accept that this is my life now--I have the children--grown children--and their children--the Grandchildren-and so I try--
#1. Success is about making opportunities for yourself-
#2. Patience is the companion of wisdom
#3.Live in the present.
                                    So many memories--Below--  Hannah

Son#3 with daughter, Emma-- (now in University)
So, life goes on--and on--We adapt-  some days are easier than others-We must have infinite faith in each other--The future is uncertain-The past was certain--Pay attention to people you love--So so much to learn--with the patience of Jobe-(Mom used to say that!)-
So, another day--  a new windshield on the car--Son#3's dog "Lola"  will be staying here with Gramma (me)-soon-- I must accept that "stuff happens"--and that "stuff" helps me---in my different way of living--
                                Smiles----  NOT TEARS!!!

  2. Good Morning Lynda,
I forgot you said your windshield was cracked. Nice that son#3 took it to be repaired. Although, I get it, no car. Hopefully, you will get it back today.
That's lots of snow by Son# 2 home. But, the fire pit looks like it could be cozy to sit around.
    Enjoyed the throwback pictures.
I have a massage today and I am looking forward to that.

    Have a terrific Tuesday!
    Hugs,

  3. Good morning, sis.

Love the photos. I'd love to live by a lake. There are plenty here in Minnesota, but none really close to my building.

It's 39F now, but will be a touch over 50F later. It's windy, though. It will rain tonight.

It's good you're getting a new windshield. It's dangerous if they're damaged. They needed to replace mine in my new car when I got it. It had been damaged in the car lot.

I understand that life is harder for you without your dearly departed, but it's getting easier, isn't it? You will always have the memories...and the PHOTOS. You have so many of your kids and grandkids. I love seeing them.

I hope to get laundry done today. And the kitchen floor, too. My main goal is to choose thoughts that make me happy. If an unhappy thought comes up...switch it to one that is more positive.

I'll check back, Lynda, as always. Please try to have a (mostly) happy day. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie.

  4. Good morning Lynda, happy to hear that Son #3, the Policeman I believe, took the car for the windshield replacement. That's one thing you didn't have to put on your " to do list ". Every passing day brings you closer to Spring time, not having to worry about clearing the snow. I hope Lola gets along with Lopez. Enjoy your day.

  5. It's Kathy. Yes, we must accept things as they are and push forward. My husband thinks a lot about the good old days and wishes they were here now. But we are very different than we were back then. So I am thankful that little Daisy is still with us, that I can get up every day and do my best and that I now have time to read. Your photos are wonderful. I'm glad Son #3 was able to help you with your windshield. Have a lovely day!

  6. It's Marti. You know, I never hear or see pics of Son 4, I take it you two aren't close. If so, I'm sorry that it has to be that way.

I'm still kind of struggling at work, but getting a little faster every day. I had a lot of interruptions. Today is a great day, foggy this morning and yesterday morning, but 58 degrees today, feels balmy compared to all that cold. No sun, but that's okay. The lack of sun keeps us mostly shielded from the very cold temps, they say. When it's very cold out, then we typically have sun.

  7. A flurry of housecleaning here. Warm for February, so a good day to take things outside and shake some fresh air into them.

We're due for the return of weather that acts like what the calendar says it is... Wednesday night into Thursday for the cold and snow to resume down here. It's been awfully dry, upping the risk of wildfires (had a few North and West of us this past week), so we're hoping for some precipitation to hold that sort of thing at bay.

    Happy New Year, my friend!

  8. Cooler here today than yesterday, but tomorrow will be near 60. Then storms and cold. Oh well. Will enjoy the weather today and tomorrow.

Glad son #3 took your car to have the windshield replaced.

Wow! Son #2 has lotsa snow to be sure.

((( HUGS))) It’s ok to cry as long as you can also find some joy in the day. LOVE your flashback photos. Wonderful.

Here’s to a happy Lunar New Year and Happy Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras/Shrove Tuesday.

  9. Hi Lynda! It is high 57 in Ohio. We had a bit of sun but mostly cloudy. Raining for a few days and snow on Sunday. Crazy weather. Glad you got your windshield fixed. So you will be dog sitting soon. Sorry you feel the urge to cry today. You are so right, some days are better than others. I hope tomorrow is a happy day for you! Hugs!
