Good Morning----a new day!

To-day Is Monday, February 2nd--GroundHog Day-- snowing quite hard down east--30--to 50 cm snow is possible in Southern Nova Scotia --Bet you are glad you do not live there! -I shall return---  The wash is in--freezing cold in here--dark outside--  The heat is turned up--and ---the day has begun!
Son #2 has just left Tel-Aviv-Yafo---en route to Toronto, Ontario-a long flight--almost 12 hrs-- home!---Yes!--SMILE__It is a new day and we are a part of it! To-day, we shall reach down and lift people up!
So-- Allison, our daughter, had to put her dog
down" this AM--  Apparently he was full of cancer--quite a surprise to her and her family!--- so she says, "She lost her Dad and she lost her Dog!-"--So--I never got back to you all till now--I sent flowers to her, which she has not received yet--That is why I am late returning here. I know how sad they all must be! Below is Jacob, Allison's son, as a baby--He is in high school now--a blast from the past--

and below, Miss Hannah, Son#2's daughter
and son#2,with the blond hair-- Son#1 and Allison
So, life just goes on and on--(Thank Goodness)- I miss my husband--I miss my house on the lake--WITH A GARAGE--but-I am surviving--
Is life  the same?---  NO!!!  It sure isn't !
But--I do have Lopez, and Sushi, and some wonderful friends, and a nice guy who asks me to share meals with him--Is it the same?--NO! But-- It could always be worse I guess!--The little house is  better than an apartment--Lopez has a back yard--I don't cry as much-- (but, I still cry)-People are very kind-- A lovely Lady came to visit me yesterday and I appreciated her coming here to chat, so so much!---And if any of you reading this want go come over , please do--and, if you have a friend who has lost their spouse, visit them--  It does help to keep the tears away--Sushi helps also!!-(The cat who I found in the bush many yrs ago--  and kept--not knowing then how much support she would one day, give me)--Everything really does happen for a reason!
So, get off of here--Face this day with all your inner might--
I shall see yu to-morrow!
Remember Long faces make short lives!-
Decide what is important in life and disregard the rest.
and
Cheerfulness is the principal ingredient in health!

  2. Morning Lynda,
Yes, today is Groundhog Day. I am not a big believer in those predictions. I think they should just leave that poor groundhog alone and let him live a normal groundhog life.
This has been a cold winter for a lot of us. We are expecting 3-5 inches of snow tomorrow. There will probably be big a run to the grocery store for essentials by everyone, which should be fun (just kidding) since today is my normal grocery day.
Good to hear Son#2 is winging his way home. And I am sure it's a relief for you. Wow, safe rooms in the hotel, that is scary that they need to have those.
You have a wonderful Monday and stay warm!

    Hugs,
    Jackie

  4. Good morning, sis.

It's a bit warmer here...10F and beautifully sunny. It's supposed to reach 20F!

The groundhog saw his shadow...six more weeks of winter. We knew that. He didn't even have to tell us!

Two friends (male) shoveled all around my car yesterday late afternoon...and cleaned the car off, too. Now, today, I can go do my errands.

It's been a good day so far, except I woke up to kitty throw up on the carpet. It's been a couple weeks, and we have to excepect it with our feline pets. They're worth it.

I'll be back later, too, Lynda to see how your day went. I think of you during that time away from here.

Oh, I forgot yesterday to say that I am not a Trump fan, either. I am for human rights for EVERYONE! {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  5. Hi Lynda,
It's finally above freezing here YAY.
Im glad Matt is headed back home. Long, long flight but hes headed in the right direction. How far is Ontario from his lake house? I assume its far.
Yes, the official groundhog saw his shadow...the St.Louis zoo groundhog did not. Either way its six more weeks of winter. We can do it.
    Enjoy your day.
    I love Snoopy.
    Warm hugs from St.Louis

  6. Warmer day here too! When I taught kindergarten, my little students loved Ground Hog Day....as we had crafts and activities to make it a fun special day! As adults, I don't think many of us believe that a ground hog can predict when spring weather will actually arrive, but I think we just need a diversion to tolerating winter cold and snow! I am just thankful that the temperatures today are supposed to rise about freezing and hopefully my snow packed street will thaw and it will be easier to drive on!

  7. It's Kathy. Yes, I'm glad I don't live where it's snowing so much. I talked with my SIL on Friday to wish him a Happy Birthday. They live in Roanoke, Virginia where is has snowed so much that they closed the schools for an entire week. They almost NEVER get snow! It snowed here yesterday but only about 2 inches, and the light powdery snow. More protests here - now they are going after our Target Stores. I'm so over this! I hope you have a great day.
