A Bad Storm hits Elliot Lake

Now, Isn't the above so true?--We are made strong by the  storms we walk through.
and to-day  there is a terrible storm howling outside here----To-day  is Monday,  March the 16th, and whether we like it or not, we are a part of this day and, it is just beginning. So, all of us,  hope your day will be special--Here is Elliot we are in a rip raging blizzard--

And--  weird that I wrote about walking thru bad storms-(Last night)---and here I am--in the middle of the worst snow storm  in Elliot Lake that I have ever seen--

left to rt- Ethan, (Son#4-his son)--Son#2, the Pilot. and Hannah , his daughter, ME, with Fred. and, we all say, "Good Morning"-----but----the weather here is very bad--

7am----  I am up--but--we are still in this bad weather--The wind is howling and so so much snow- No -ploughs on the roads

Below---  my car--in the driveway--Look at all the snow--
It is Monday, March 16th   ---and whatta storm is going on here--  Lopez is up--as is Sushi--no wash machine on yet--   (Can you believe THAT?)--
I am afraid I must  get off this Computer for now and pay attention to this storm which is raging outside--We may lose power--and if we do, I will return after things settle down--
                                    Below--some snow pictures
Winter weather----very very bad  here to-day--The whole town is shut down---stores, restaurants--and below--one of my favourite memories--Son#1's daughter , travelling with her dog and cat ---

                                                    Andie, Son#4 daughter

above, a card  to grampa from Ethan
a day at the dock and 2 German Shepherds
Below--=  Fred and I--=-=must be someones Birthday
So, it sure is a very snowy day out there--  I could not do without my 2 shovel boys=--
I shall chat with you all to-morrow----  I hope that in your area there is not as much snow as there is here--
Wise words might help your day go well-=-
#1.Remember not to take yourself too seriously--
#2. When you go to bed stop worrying about problems
                            #3.Believe the best of everybody--
So, think of retirement as being a teenager again--Say hello to others--and remember, the sun is always shining someplace-and everybody has a bad day once in awhile.

  4. Brrr! We have a slight coating of snow this morning and strong howling winds, but nothing like the blizzard you are experiencing! Your poor car! Buried under! Yikes! I am supposed to volunteer at the assisted living facility here in town, but I am not sure if I want to travel out in the freezing cold and terrible wind....we shall see. And Happy St. Patrick's Day early! I am fixing corned beef and cabbage for friends tomorrow and today I am making the dessert - a Guiness Chocolate Cake! Found the recipe online and it actually takes a cup of Guiness beer! It says it is really chocolatey! We shall see! Stay warm and safe today!

  5. Morning Lynda,
Yikes! That's a lot of snow. Doesn't look like you will heading out anywhere today. Poor Lopez has to go out to do his business in that. He might get lost in a snow drift. :-(
We don't have snow but we have temperatures in the 30's F and howling strong winds. Not looking forward to going out but I need to grocery shop today.
Stay safe and warm inside today and hope your power doesn't go out.

    Hugs,
    Jackie

  6. Good morning, sis. And it is. There is something, always, to be happy about.

Our storm finally ended. It's sunny outside, but only 2F.

I am about to leave to take 'Becca for her surgery. I thought I'd check in here first. I am glad I did.

I hope your snow boys are available. Probably school is cancelled today for them. Your car is almost buried!

The photos are great! Hannah is all grown up. It's great to see her with her uncle and you and Fred.

I hope to get something done here...taxes...while I wait for the call to pick 'Becca up. They may keep her overnight. Hopefully this time they get all the kidney stones.

Keep on truckin.' Remember that old saying?

    {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  7. Good morning Lynda, I am so sorry that you have to deal with such a severe snow storm. There are several severe heat warnings where I live. Tomorrow will be 98 degrees. I'm glad that I do not have to go anywhere. The weather we're having this week is breaking all records. I hope there is a vast improvement for you for next week's travel for your eye exam. Is it one of your sons who will be driving you? Great photo of you and Fred, a son and two grandchildren. Of course all of the photos that you shared are delightful.

  8. Stay safe in that storm! Monday morning we woke to "single digit temperatures" which is unusual for mid-March! Brrrr! Ember the labrador went out solo to take care of business because her hu-mom (me) was too cold. Nevertheless, we went through our normal morning routine. The snow we got on Sunday pretty much blew off the hard surfaces, but it clings to the grass and the deck. Oh, well. Tomorrow it will melt!

    Stay safe, my friend!

  9. It's Kathy. That's what our world looked like yesterday. It was blowing so hard that the drifts were really high. We were really lucky - the snow was much deeper to the south of us. The snow plows destroyed our mailbox and it's too cold right now for Tom to be able to fix it. So the post office will have to hold our mail until things warm up again. Please stay safe while your storm rages on. Neither of us left the house yesterday! Take care.

  10. Well Lynda, thats a lot of snow. You're staying in today. No choice. I HOPE this is the last snow for you.
We had severe thunderstorms, tornado warnings and the temps dropped 40 degrees. Snow dusting and 20F here today. This too shall pass.

  11. Lynda, I at least hope you weren't OUT in that! Terrible! That looks about like the huge snowstorm Central Ohio got awhile's back, we got a foot. Today the weather dropped from about 72 yesterday to 32 right now and snowing currently. It's not supposed to stick much, we'll see. Very windy, as well. In Ohio, they say, if you don't like the weather wait a day! For sure!

  12. Hi Lynda! I hope your day is going well! Very cold, windy and snow flurries in Ohio. Your weather pics are very, very bad. I am sorry you have that to deal with. Hope you have everything you need to stay in. No washing machine going is good. Play your piano or read a good book and not think about outside. Hugs!

  13. More beautiful photos of you and Fred, grandkids and pets! Just wonderful you look through these almost every day and choose which ones to share with us!

A lot of our town shuts down, too, with all this bad wealther. Not all of it, though...schools, usually do.

'Becca's surgery went well and I have picked her up already.

My apartment is finally heating as that awful wind has stopped seeping in through our single paned windows.

I hope your evening goes well and that you are able to watch some tv, curl up with a book or play some music. We seem to like the same things, Lynda

I'll be back at the end of the evening. {{{HUGS}}} Maggie
