Be Better than you were Yesterday!

Well, It looks like rain fell over night--and it is still very "muggy" out there --warm also-

Last evening Son#2 invited me out to his new home on Stoney lake--and I thought, "Well if I do go , I need  to get gas in the car, plus  I need windshield washer fluid put into  the windshield wipers-!"-Did I want to do all that?---  AND I DECIDED , "YES", I WILL DRIVE TO HIS NEW HOME --on Stoney Lake--(so I proceeded to the gas station)
You see, my nephew had called me, and talked me thru installing the AP onto my cell phone, called "WAZE"-It talks thru the cell and/or, the car radio and tells me how to get there, with a map which comes up on the screen in my car--an amazing thing! I did not even know there was such a neat invention!

Here I am, out at Stoney Lake, at Son's #2 home, holding Lopez , of course!

We had a fantastic dinner there, and my map  talked me thru the return trip home, just before dark-So I am beginning to venture out around the countryside here---My biggest fear is getting lost , but with the new AP, maybe I never will--
And here are a few "Blasts from the past" photos
-Me--  with Willow, the dog and -Hannah, son#2's daughter--2011--who is now almost finished University
Emma trying to pick up Ava, her sister---both these girls are into University now-

A park in Elliot Lake, just around the corner from where I will be living--

Son#4, (Tim) with Hannah  and another Grand baby --maybe Ava--

Well, you really can---do Hard Things--

                                                                Positive thoughts---

  1. Morning Lynda,
Glad the WAZE app is helping you navigate around.
Looks like Son#2's place is really nice and relaxing by the water.
Love all the blast from the past pictures.
    Enjoy your Saturday!

  2. Good morning, sis.
I have WAZE, too, and a large screen in my new car. I wouldn't go anywhere I haven't been before without my WAZE!
See, GF? We are not too old to learn somethng new and be better than we were yesterday!
Happy you had such a good time. I love all the photos.
You will miss this son and his when you move back to Elliot, but you will have more sons there.
I guess life is not perfect, but we can get close. Except for all the little irritations.
I finally found a completely empty laundry room and got two large loads washed.
Thesday I have my x-rays done on the joints on my right side. Hoping they will say all is fine and that the knee and ankle pain is all just part of the hip fracture not being completely healed yet.
I am feeling good about all I am now able to do and all the people here that are willing to help. In addition to my great medical team...and my friends, LIKE YOU! Back later, Lynda. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  3. Hi Lynda
Thanks for all the positivity. I do admire that. A N D so many of your strengths.
Matt's patio is lovely. Im sure his.new home is as well.
You never mentioned that he moved until you went there the other day. You can go anywhere with your app. Maybe you've forgotten that you've handled gasing the car and other minor car tasks yourself for a while. You can do it.
I love Matt. He does so much for you. I do hope the 3 in EL step up the pace and help more when you move. Consistently.help.
    Darling pictures. Lovely family.
    Have a great day.
    Still very hot in St.Louis.
    Hugs
    Marge

  4. I'm so proud of you, Lynda. I'm sorry you didn't know about those apps before. They've been around a long time. But you have them now. I wouldn't be able to get anywhere, even in my local downtown, without them. Our local downtown is a circle, and you can drive around and around trying to go get your pickup order for lunch, and never find it, without directions! LOL - Marti

  5. You go, girl! Stopping at the gas station AND using a new navigation APP and taking yourself on a field trip. I think your nephew has more than made up for the boxes of "stuff" he tried to unload on you. I love the navigation apps. But boy, is it funny when you're watching Amazing Race and see people who have relied on the apps exclusively try to navigate using a paper map! We all remember planning trips that way, or using AAA TripTik booklets. I'll bet you felt a lot lighter and free knowing you don't have to try to figure in out on your own or miss a turnoff and have to go back.

  6. It's Kathy. Love the photos, our grandchildren grow up entirely too fast! We had early morning rain also and now it's kind of steamy outside. I've closed all the windows to keep the cool air inside! I hope it drys up enough later today so I can get outside and pull some weeds. With all this rain, the weeds are growing like crazy! Good for you for taking care of your car and driving out to Son #2's new home - it looks beautiful out there. Have a good day.

  7. Happy Saturday, Lynda! We had rain this morning in Ohio while I was at the Amish Farmer’s Market and then to get my hair cut. Now, it is sunny and hot! Happy you can make it to the lake house and have a nice time. Sweet Lopez! Love that pic! You can tell he loves you! I use Waze a lot too so I can see any cops or accidents before I head out. Hope your day is going great! Hugs!
