Don-cha wish that we knew everything?

Good morning--  LABOUR DAY WEEKEND is here!--The children return to school--The older children return --or begin, --their University and one day, a--career----  Where has the summer gone??--  How are the children now heading back to class already?-AND-----  IT IS COLD THIS MORNING! --freezing---  I have the "fire" on here--

So, to-day Son#3 is bringing Lola and Apollo, his 2 dogs here, as he is taking his 2 daughters to University. So, I will have 3 dogs here in my tiny home--but-- I HAVE A FENCED YARD--for them---so, we all should be just fine.

Labour Day weekend--  many memories oF Fred and I driving to various universities to drop off kids--very costly  to educate these grown children, and they usually attend more than one of these institutions before they are finished learning.-- It was all worth it however as they all graduated and now have  jobs--Fred and I were always so proud of them all!---

You know that I bought a dishwasher-??---It is a smaller version of a normal size washer-- still quite large however--I just could not imagine always washing dishes by hand---It did not seem sanitary--

I do like it --so far---

AND--I believe I have everything I need now--for my tiny home--AND my tiny life--
It took quite a bit of money to settle in, but I believe I shall like it here--

So, I hope that yu are enjoying this last weekend of the summer--
It is cool-ish  this AM- but at least we do not have snow---YET!!!!!
One more thing--  I have been told by countless Elliot Lakers that the smartest thing I ever did was to move back here--I really do not know if that was the smartest thing I ever did, but I knew I could not spend my last few days living in a community where I did not know anyone--- I did meet many Lakefield--residents-but, I had no long term friends there--and I really missed  Elliot Lake--where Fred and I lived for years and years
--Perhaps there is a reason that my heart needed go return--

Perhaps people need  me  to be here??----  Who knows eh??---
Don-cha wish that we knew everything?

  1. Happy Friday!
Sounds like you are going to have a lot of furry company this weekend.
Kids around here went back to school two weeks ago, but they get out in the middle of May for the summer.
Your Dishwasher is pretty cool. We do get used to the comforts and conveniences of appliances that make our lives easier. I know I do.
    Have a good day!

  2. Hi Lynda,
Glad you have the fence. 3 dogs is a lot. Poor Sushi. Has she ever come downstairs?
School started Aug. 18 here but they finish early.
If you're happy with dishwasher, thats all that matters.
I do hope you can find or start your widows group and a grief support group. You'll find people who feel like you and who are living their best lives now.
    Enjoy the dogs.
    Hugs

  3. Good morning, sis.
I checked for comments on yesterday's...none, but here is a new blog.
Happy your dishwasher was able to get connected. It will be easier for you.
We do need to be here for those who need us, but the need is mutual. We need them, too.
Yes, the kids grow and it seems too fast. I am lucky my kids got scholarships to help. They didn't pay everything, though.
It's 68F here now and will reach 78F so it's not too cold. We have a mix of sun and white clouds. By next Wednesday the low will be only 43F. We may have a few more days of almost summer weather.
I am going on a short drive in a while taking some stuff to my 'adopted' daughters that they haven't picked up. I want to get certain things done before I do my trip for the workshop in Chicago.
I need to check how to do trains to you. And get a passport.
I love tiny houses! I watch them every night on tv. There's Tiny House Hunting...done with a real estate agent. I love best Tiny House Nation where John and Zack build the houses for clients.
All for now, Lynda. Gotta get moving. I'll be back later. {{{HUGs}}} Love, Maggie

  4. It's Kathy. You sound happy and I'm sure a lot of that is because you are back where you feel settled. I have never like the home I live in - it's on a very busy road and I had small children when we moved here - but whenever my husband and I talk about moving I just can't imagine it. I've been in this house for 43 years and I feel at home here! I love your new dishwasher - it's just right for you. And how wonderful to have the dogs with a fenced in yard! Have a wonderful day!

  5. Oh boy! You’ll have 3 doggos. That will be a handful. Safe travels as son #3 brings his 2 daughters to University. And good luck to your DGD’s!

Sure hope that the dishwasher works out.

Yes, I am sad to see Autumn arrive, only because it means Winter is not far behind.

It seems like Karma wants you to be in Elliot Lake and there you are. I am sure it is for a reason! And it makes you happy! That’s the best reason of all to be there.

    Hugs and blessings

  6. So happy to know that you are doing well and are pleased that you moved back! And nice that you now have a fenced yard for Lopez and your son's dogs! And how is Sushi doing? Is she still hiding?
I have finally moved back into my house too! I am surrounded by boxes and feel overwhelmed at all I have to do, but my cats are so happy to be back - even though the house is not the same as everything is brand new.....so it seems like they just love having some space to explore and enjoy laying on the new carpet in the sunshine! My mantra is "one day at a time" - just need to keep getting a little more unpacked and put away little by little. At 78 these things take lots more time! And I have had approximately 196 boxes delivered to me so far - and there are still a few more coming! Yikes!

  7. Hi Lynda: Hope all goes well with the dogs. I doubt you have coyotes roaming around in cities like we do here so the dogs should be safe in the fenced yard. Your dishwasher looks good. You're getting more settled and you seem to like your new place so all is good. And it was cooler here this morning too. I want summer back! Have a good night. Brenda

  8. Whenever you think that it's expensive to set up to live comfortably, just remember it's rims cheaper than assisted living. And be grateful that you can still be independent. Happy Labour Day.

  9. Lynda, I'm REALLY happy for you, you now have all you need, a fireplace, a little fenced yard, help when you need it, sons close at hand, window coverings, AND a dishwasher. I know that you can't bring Fred back, but you CAN make your life as nice and comfortable for yourself as you can from here on out! Marti

Have a nice, relaxing, HAPPY Labor Day weekend.
