Good morning, Lynda! It’s a beautiful, sunny day in Ohio! That stove would intimidate me, as well. It sounds neat the way it works. I would not leave the house with it on, either. Or the clothes dryer! You are doing so well. The cleaning service will be nice and it will be a little company for you. Hope you really like the person. Hope you have a terrific Tuesday! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteso many new changes once we are "older than old"---Sometimes I just want to dance away here--forget these changes--but--- seems we have to adapt-- Lordy Be eh??--Happy to her from yu-- Lynda
DeleteYou will get everything all nice then coming for ice cream!:)
DeleteAllison said the same thing--lovely in Ohio--nice here also--and boy, I am not a fan of the stove although the heat is great-Lynda
DeleteGood morning, sis.
ReplyDeleteYes, we will do as you say. I'm not trying to do better than I did yesterday, though...just as good as I did yesterday. I got lots done. That refrigerator...not as hard as I thought. The stove is done, too...even the oven. Today I am planning on getting out that heavy, hard to maneuver vacuum. I am getting back to my old self!
It's a lovely day looking out the window. Temp is o nly 59F now, but it's supposed to climb to 73F.
Your little stove is wonderful. Wish I had one. It should have come with an instruction manual. Check that to see about the safety of leaving it on. You wouldn't want to come home to find Sushi (and Lopez if you left him at home) frozen.
I have been planning for my trip to Chicago. Figuring out who and how much to tip, discovering taking my walker would not count as baggage on the train, ordering a winter bathrobe (my old one is miles too big), how to pack my pills, etc. It's great to have something to look forward to.
I must figure out, too, if I need a passport to go to see you in the spring. I wonder if trains run from here to your part of the world. They're great cuz they come with food and toilets. You don't have to stop for that and take up time.
All now, Lynda. Must get started on my day. Back later. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
Yes I believe that you will need a passport to visit Canada-and yes, there must be trains--Lynda
DeleteGood morning Lynda. Yesterday I thought your little stove was woodburning, but now I realize it's electric. It's wonderful that it disperses the heat upstairs as well. Despite having to adjust to all of the changes, you sound happy. Have you played the piano since it has been tuned? Maybe that will entice Sushi to come downstairs. She's had so many adjustments to make over the past several months, so it may take a while longer. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteMaureen from California
Hi Maureen-- I am trying Sushis litter out in the hall-see if I can get her out from our bedroom-Lynda
DeleteMorning Lynda,
ReplyDeleteInteresting stove, kinda cute. I would be a little anxious about it too. But, I am sure you will figure it out. Maybe one of your sons can help with that.
Cleaning service might be nice. At least try it out.
Have a good day!
Jackie
Yes I am going to give a cleaning service a try--Great idea-- Lynda
DeleteYou are doing this! Back home, and people are happy you're back. Yay for warmth from the stove, and for the automatic shut-off. You may be able to find an instruction manual online where you can at least read or print out the basic stuff you need to know -- the stove should have a name and model number and you can enter that into your search engine. And a BIG yay to you for having a cleaning service come in! They can take care of the major stuff and you will still take care of the daily swish & swipes and a little dusting or stick vacuum sweeping. One thing about your moves, it's forced you to declutter the stuff you no longer use or need. My goal is to be able to have a cleaning service, but I'd like to declutter more before I do -- sad to say, but somewhere in my life I picked up the notion that I'd have to clean BEFORE I can have a cleaning lady. We had a cleaning service at some earlier stages when we were both working full time (and extra hours) and I felt overwhelmed by the house stuff. What was nice was the house never got dirty because we were gone all day.
ReplyDeleteAnd may I say it is so nice to see the Elliott Lake sons are more considerate and involved with your wellbeing than they were before. Hugs. / Leslie
Leslie--Good idea--an instruction booklet--and yes, nice to see the boys dropping in--not asoften as I'd like, but better than before-Lynda
DeleteYou sound like you are doing great. The electric heat stove is probably fine. I would be more worried about gas or wood. And I believe you had someone show you how it worked and they seemed to think it was a good heat source, so must be fine, just new to you.
ReplyDeleteHaving someone to do the serious cleaning will be a good thing. So nice not to have to scrub floors or clean showers or tubs.
Give yourself a pat on the back, you are handling being “older than old” very well.
Susan/Colorado
h Susan--life is different when one is "older than old"--LOL--Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. Yes, growing older does present a whole new set of challenges. I don't like all the changes either - but a cleaning service I would gladly accept. I need to clean my bathroom and kitchen today - have put it off for 3 days now and it's time. So I stayed home from my Pilates class and instead, had a 40 minute phone conversation with my youngest daughter - so I'm still behind. But I guess that was important too! We are getting close to the Pre-Trial court date and she's very anxious because her children's father is such a not good person! I love the little stove, we actually have one of those but haven't used it in several years now. It was nice downstairs when we used that room as a place to watch television. Now it's my husband's art studio! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteFunny--Yu stayed home and your daughter mustve loved having
Deletetime with you--Lynda
Wise words . . . we can try to do better than yesterday, and tomorrow will be even better than today. We have to just keep trying, adapting, and changing.
ReplyDeleteThat heater does look useful, but for sure, would not keep that going while out of the house.
Good luck w/the cleaning service. Can only try it . . . you may get to like it. And nothing written in stone you have to keep it, either!
Awwwww, love that last meme. Beautiful!
Hugs and blessings

Keep on movin' and groovin'!
Yes, just keep on-- thats what I tell myself--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda: A cleaning service would be great. That way you only have to tidy up as necessary - smart choice. And the furnace/stove is a probably totally safe, Do you have a manual that was left or see if you can look it up online -there must be a model on it. Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteYes Brenda they tell me to leave the stove on--but I do not do that yet--maybe in time--and a cleaning service sounds good to me--Lynda
DeleteHi, it's Marti. Didn't you have a cleaning service where you just were? I can't recall, it seems that you mentioned it. If that's the case, and it was a one floor, now that you have a two floor, at your age, I would think that a cleaning service would be very necessary. As long as it's affordable, I don't see why not! :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the stove, yeah, if I were there, I'd take a picture of it on my smartphone using Google Lens, and then info about it would no doubt come up on the web browser and you could find instructions, etc. If it's electric and supposed to heat your whole house, I would just always leave it on. If not, yeah, when I was gone, I'd turn it off and use whatever other heat you have available. I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with them at all. :(
It sounds as if you are coming along quite nicely. Just keep on truckin,' as the saying goes!
YES They tell me to leave the stove on but I am a tad leery about it-- but--I am trying to adapt in the day--Lynda
