Is your day going along alright??--It is hotter than hot , here still--but--I did turn down the AC--which might be a good sign, that cooler days are in the future-----
--Son #2 is in Belgium----returning back to Canada to-day--He sent a couple of pictures yesterday--- like--Belgian Chocolate--
and-guess what??--a McDonalds--- Imagine eating in a MacDonalds in Belgium-- !!!!So, I continue to unpack boxes---- so many boxes--- but I can leave some in the storage room for now--- and hopefully get to them later--
Last night, Son#1 called and asked me to have supper with them. It was fantastic to eat with people,----so awful to eat alone---When one eats alone, I usually cannot eat whatever I had ready to polish off--Somehow the meal loses it's appeal!----I even took Lopez out to Son#1's house and he got along well with Son#1's German Shepherd-
A couple of pictures--blasts from the past--of Fred and I ---Below--1957 --in Ottawa--- no children
AND-----
Good morning Lynda, good to hear from you. It's nice to hear that your sons are showing that they care for you by inviting you to their homes or to share a meal. Was the meal with Son #1 at his home or at his restaurant?
ReplyDeleteThe boxes can wait as long as you have the essentials in your kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The photo you posted of your livingroom a few days ago shows that things are in place, ready for company.
Good for Lopez getting along with Son #1's Shepherd. They were together at the dock the other day, so they're familiar with one another.
Hopefully you won't be suffering with the heat much longer. Enjoy your day.
Maureen from California
Hi Maureen--It has cooled down a lot today--Lynda
DeleteGood morning, Lynda! It is cloudy and 77 in Ohio! How nice you went to your son’s house for dinner. Proud of the dogs for getting along so well. Love the pilot pics! That coffee looks extra good! Love coffee. The coffee bean IS my birthstone. LOL I love water, too and I like your meme about all the good things water is good for. My husband was stationed with the Navy in Ottawa. He loved it there. Hope your day is wonderful. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYour husband knows Ottawa--Yes we lived there a long time--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. I love seeing your daily posts and inserts.
The boys are inviting you over fairly frequently. That's a nice change.
It wasn't like that before. As far as eating alone...that's an easy mind reset. I don't find it horrible at all. Food is food whether I'm home or out alone or in a group.
Belgium looks.nice as does McDonalds. Belgium chocolate. Hmm wonder if it's as wonderful as I think it is.
I giggled at "hotter than lust" lol. The horrible heat and humidity continues in St.Louis.
As long as your kitchen, bathroom and bedroom are functioning your good to go. If you can find your underwear lol the rest can wait. I'm certain you moved too much as this space is less.
Enjoy today
Hugs Marge
So many more boxes Marge but they will get unpacked in time--LOL--Lynda

ReplyDeleteGood morning, sis!
Yes, everything is (now...not gonna be) alright!
My pc is back from the "doctor" and better than it was.
I find it hard to believe I never told you about my esophagus issue, but you said in your comment last evening that you didn't know. I have had terrible issues gagging, throowing up, food not going down. My last episode lasted over an hour before it cleared. I thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room! I have to remember to take small bites and not take another bite 'til I'm sure the last one has gone down. Small sips of liquid in between bites sometimes helps.
Next on my list is getting my car's oil changed. Oil, filters, etc. I haven't yet filled the windshield washer fluid. I'll check the manual. May ask my car place to do that, too.
I always love your 'blasts from the pasts, even if I've seen them before.
Belgium chocolate sounds amazing!
Your boxes will eventually get emptied. Take your time.
Has Sushi adjusted yet?
I have peanut butter creme Oreos dunked in my morning coffee for breakfast.
Lucky's asking me to come for our snooze now, so I will check back here later. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
Oh, the espophagus thingy...search EoE.
DeleteOh goodness, Maggie! My husband has had this for years with not much help!
DeleteI enjoy eating alone but I usually read a book at restraunts. At home sometimes watch TV or read and eat.You could listen to an Audible Book while you eat.
ReplyDeleteGood idea--read a book in a RSTAURANT-:Lynda
DeleteThat thing in yer throat must cause you a lot of trouble-- Poor yu--No I did not know-Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. That hot chocolate from Belgium looks delicious. A friend of mine was in Belgium last summer and she brought back chocolates - they were so delicious! I spent my morning at the gym and actually enjoyed it. Seems my body is getting stronger! Now I really should go out and pull more weeds, it's the last nice day we'll have for a bit. I'm so glad you were able to eat with your family. I eat lunch alone on Tuesdays because Tom is out with his art group and I'm not all that thrilled about that. I hope they all take turns to invite you! And maybe you will have some friends you can invite to your new home - when you're ready! Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy--- Seems you all enjoy eating alone--I shall try harder --so nice of son#1 to have me over--Lynda
DeleteOh Belgian chocolate is absolutely the best there is . . . if you're gonna have chocolate, that's what to have!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were invited to supper w/son #1. That is nice. And soooo nice that Lopez and the German got along! WTG, Lopez.
And so nice to be able to eat w/company. I remember when DH traveled a lot, it was no treat to eat alone. The kids were already out of the house. I did have Miss Lllly though! LOL
Hot here, too. Flooding is finally starting to subside in some areas. Tomorrow is supposed to be relatively cool. We'll see if they're right.
HUGS and blessings.

It is cooler here today-- nice Barb--- and yes, I needto learn to enjoy eating alone-Lynda
DeleteMarti here. I had to giggle a bit about eating alone...I've done that for years and years. If I lost my appetite when I ate alone, I'd be dead by now, LOL. Really all about what you get used to. My late husband and I didn't even eat together. I ate a frozen dinner in my computer room and he ate whatever he fixed for himself. I often eat out alone, in fact, and entertain myself with my smartphone. I don't ever get lonely. But then, I'm not a people person, either, haha.
ReplyDeleteMarti--OK---Please keep telling me how yu are eating alone--coz I need to earn how --- I am not doing well today-- Hugs to yu--Lynda
DeleteHi, Lynda - Glad you were able to enjoy dinner with your son and family. It sounds like your boys really missed you. Understand how eating alone can be hard after years of sharing meals with Fred. Funny how the seemingly little things can be the hardest. I remember the first time I was away from home at school. I would get homesick at dinner time even though I was in a cafeteria full of people. I missed the faces around the table I was used to, I missed my family. It will get better, but I know it is hard now. You really are dealing with your grief with grace and strength. You are putting one foot in front of the other facing each day with courage. You’ve moved, you’re setting up your new home, and joining others when they reach out. Some people become paralyzed in their grief and can’t take care of themselves. It’s hard, but you are carrying on. I have such admiration for you. Thanks for keeping us posted on how you are doing.
ReplyDeleteWell, today I am not dealing with life very well--I need all of you to push me on here-- Thank-yu for writing-Lynda
DeleteGood Morning Lynda,
ReplyDeleteOh that's nice you were able to eat dinner with Son#1 and family. And good that Lopez got on with their dog. You never know what's going to happen when you put two dogs together that are new to each other.
Son #2's breakfast looks yummy.
I am sure he misses you living close by to him and his family.
Enjoy your not as hot day. It's still pretty steamy here in the Cincinnati metro area.
Jackie
Hi Jackie--It was quite hot here yesterday-cooled down now-- Lynda
