Ho Ho Ho!--It is Tuesday, December 2nd--and---- last night--here---about 4 ft of snow fell--on the car--on the driveway --in the yard--I had to clean off the car----let it run a bit to melt some snow-and the guy I hired way back when, came along in his big Kaboka trackter)--and ploughed out by the road so I could move the car out there until he comes back to clear the driveway--he said in a couple hours-- so--needless to say-- I will not be going out for breakfast with my friends---I forgot how much snow Elliot Lake can get--Lopez and I have been out AND HE DID HIS BUSINESS__good little doggie!
Yesterday the Computer guy worked on this computer (and it is new!)-all day trying to retrieve all my photos which I had buried somewhere on the computer--He found some--and lots are gone I guess--(sobbing)
Anyway, he did find some I hadn't seen in years--
like the ones below-
-Hannah, son #2's daughter looking down at the city of Elliot Lake, from the fire tower lookout-Notice--all the trees--the city--and the lakes-
-below---Hannah, again--exhausted----Hannah now finished University in Ottawa
-----and Fred and I-below--trying to cook--
so---- Here we are into December----Are you happy go see Christmas so close??--
Good morning, sis.
ReplyDeleteI am happy the computer tech found at least some of your photos.
You took lots of photos of Hanna. I don't know what you and Fred were cooking, but it had lots of ingredients that I like.
We didn't get any more snow overnight. Thank goodness. It's only 11F here and the sky is cloudy.
I am almost ready for Christmas. For a change, I was able to get a gift for everyone this year. On Amazon, I can order gift cards and sent them via text message to my far away family.
'Becca asked me to take her to Walmart. Seems she often wants to go during my nap time or when it's dark already. Cheesh!
Your words of wisdom are always welcome. Wish the name of the original quoter was added, however.
I'll be back later, Lynda. Protect your back removing all that snow.
{{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
Maggie--I AM NOT_-NOT--- ready for Christmas--and it is coming fast--Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. I'm so sorry you lost some of your photos. I worry about that myself, but in the end I also wonder who will want them or even care after I'm gone. After my mom left this world I found so many things that I'd remembered from my childhood and they were so important to me. But my children just don't seem to be interested in our history! That is a lot of snow - I wouldn't go out either! I'm glad your plow guy made a spot for you to get your car out of the driveway, so he can come back and plow that. I had an event tomorrow evening that I was going back and forth about going - and I'm so glad that today it was cancelled. I think it's hard to go out, especially at night, when there's snow and the weather is so cold. Good for little Lopez for taking care of business. Daisy's not real fond of the snow but she braves it! Have a good dayl
ReplyDeleteKathy I had so much saved--probably way too much--and like you, I was thinking--"Well my kids do not seem too interested anyway-"--- freezing rain over snow this AM--terrible roads--but--we made it to the "Grief course"--Lynda
Delete4 feet or 4 inches?? I feel like 4 feet would be a state of emergency.
ReplyDeleteOh I am so sorry---4 inches-Lordy be eh!--Lynda-
DeleteI caught myself singing along to the Christmas music in the grocery store this morning! LOL! It must be the snow on the ground or something, but I am feeling like the week after Christmas, sort of!
ReplyDeleteawwwww Christmas only comes once a year-- Just "belt out the songs!"--LOL--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda, 4 feet..EGAD. Schools are closed and traffic was horrible yesterday when a few more inches landed on top of our 6 inches. It took me an hour to go 5 miles in the middle of the day yesterday. Glad snow guy cleared a spot for car until he returns. Poor Lopez in that mess.
ReplyDeleteComputers ggrrrr. At least you have some lean of your pictures back.
Sounds like you'll be staying home for a bit.
Stay warm and safe.
Matt should be coming pretty soon.
Yay
Hugs from cold, snowy St.Louis
Marge
Marge--I meant 4 inches--so sorry--Yesterday was a bad day--'specially on the computer--LOL--Lynda
DeleteHi, Lynda! Pictures, GONE? Pictures don't just go missing, unless you dragged them to the trashcan and deleted them. I bet they are somewhere. I don't know anything much about a Mac anymore, but all my pictures are either in the Pictures folder, or "in the cloud," - I use Google Photos, so they are stored remotely. Strange thing tho, some of them, over time, they seemed to have disappeared "in the cloud," which doesn't make me trust the servers in those data centers as much as I used to. I've still got a big bin of photos that I really should either throw away, send off to be scanned, or scan myself, but haven't gotten around to it. Most are, like, trips I've taken with my mom. There will not be anyone left once I pass, as I never had children, and my only relative and cousin is 81, so I guess it won't much matter, in the long run.
ReplyDelete4 FEET of snow? That's a lot of snow. We got 4 inches of snow overnight, enough to make work move start time to 9:30, except for I already DO start at 9:30, LOL. It was fun to walk in. Now they've plowed all the roads - we have a loop, and about 165 condos or so. We all have garages, either one or two car, so there is what they call "a quad," two garages across from me, and then mine and my neighbors. All shoveled while I was at work. All the sidewalks salted, too. They do a GREAT job here.
You are amazing, you guys in Canada! Unless we have a blizzard, we just don't get more than maybe 4 or 5 feet usually, not in Central Ohio, anyway. Up near Lake Erie, yes, Lake Effect snow.
Marti
Oh Marti--I was devestated when all the pictures flew off of here--so many pictures of Matt's planes and my children--all gone --but--- what can I do?-- -and I meant 4 inches--not 4 ft--I believe I was so upset by then so just typed in 4 ft--Crazy what one does eh when upset--Lynda
DeleteI've been adjusting to my new computer for a bit now, and can't always find things. Fortunately, I had made a habit of backing things up on an external hard drive, so while it takes a bit of extra work, I can eventually find stuff. You may find the lost pictures by accident at some point.
ReplyDeleteOh man--I would be SO SO happy if those pictures ever turned up--Lynda
DeleteFOUR FEET OF SNOW!! OMG.
ReplyDeleteWell, happy or not, Christmas is on it’s way, isn’t it! Beginning to get the spirit.
LOVE your words of wisdom. Wonderful.
HOW UPSETTNG to lose photos. *SIGH* But glad that your computer is back in action.
HUGS and blessings. Stay warm and safe
barb
No Barb I meant 4 inches--LOL-- wish it hadn't happened--Lynda
DeleteBummer about your computer! But glad you had somebody help you get it back working! Sorry you lost some pictures....better than all the boxes I have filled with photo that I need to go through and decide what to do with them!
ReplyDeleteMy fiasco is now with the insurance company that wants me to turn in receipts that dispute what they have listed as my reimbursement costs....sigh....will this ever end.....will my life ever be normal again....I just am so tired of dealing with all of this ....in 2 weeks, it will be exactly one year ago that the dehumidifier melted and caused me a year of my life....dealing with living in a rental home and replacing everything that could not be saved. I know I should focus on the positive and I am grateful for so many things....I guess I just am having decision fatigue once again and things will look brighter tomorrow!
Oh Sandra--Whatta mess when I lost all the old pictures--well not ALL_but a lot----I do hope things are looking brighter --to-day-- You had so much happen, I am not surprised--but--yu still found it in your herar to send me the 3 books and I so appreciated them--You are a "Saint" Sandra-- Truly you are--Lynda
DeleteI hope that the photos just pop back up somewhere I love the ones that you share
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day stay warm
