Good morning, Lynda! So good you have heat and power! I see the tree mess. It is rainy in Ohio with a few storms until Monday. Chilly, too! The sweet dogs look happy out there. I can’t imagine all the different thoughts you are having about Fred each day but happy each day is getting easier. I heard geese a few times lately. Always think of you. Have a wonderful Wednesday! Has Allison left? Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYes Allison is back in Medina--They had to bring 2 vehicles as she came before her husband to see her Dad -- They also just ordered a Generac--- due to all the storms--happy for them-=-Yes,a few geese have travelled over here---so they are around--- Lynda
DeleteI thought she came early. Glad they are home safe with a Generac ordered. It hailed pretty hard today. I got my bird bath out and the birds are using it.

ReplyDeleteQuick note before heading out. Timing varies for everyone. When my Dad died it took 3 months before I was no longer surprised Mom was answering the door at their home instead of him. From 1986 to 2002, I was their driver and from 1996 on was at their home almost everyday.
The old saying that March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb did not happen this year. Howling winds with mighty gusts still with us here in Central Texas.

OH you were so good to yer Mom-- I understand how she id not want to do that--- I would welcome tht also--just feel so lost-- THank yu for writing--Hearing what yu all say really helps--Lynda
DeleteGood morning, sis! So happy you seem to be back to your new normal.
ReplyDeleteWe have barely over freezing here and raining 'til late this afternoon. I was going to go to Walmart, but I dunno...maybe I will wait 'til tomorrow. I have plenty to do here...i.e. laundry and floors.
You will feel and see Fred with you on and off forever, probably. It will soon turn into being happy to feel him...not sad.
That's what I believe. I still feel my mama, grandma, dad and pets that have passed on, too.
It's wise of you to use the road for Lopez so the two of you don't get tripped up in all those branches and limbs. At least it's not icy.
Later, Lynda. Must go check the laundry room. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
Oh Maggie--Good to see yu ---= still cold outside --to-morrow tho I hear it will be warmer---so nice to feel the heat in the apartment-- Lynda
DeleteThinking your husband is still here is not unusual. As I said earlier, it took months for my brain to get the message that he was not coming back and I was on my own. You will miss your Fred everyday, but you will learn to continue to live your life and find some joy in each day, even if it is in a small thing. You are a strong positive person.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have power again and heat. Do be careful and stay away from those trees. More limbs will fall.
Be kind to yourself, play the piano and keep moving.
So happy to hear from yu --Thank yu for writing--Lynda
DeleteLynda, I consider you Canadians very intrepid, to go through all the weather you do. Here in Central Ohio, we do get tornadoes, though. Not many ice storms. We're supposed to have thunderstorms and stormy weather, maybe flooding in some outlying areas, for the next 4 days or so. It's looking very dark out right now. Black. I've been stuck home sick again this week with round two of what feels like the very same terrible cold that I had two weeks ago. Horrible hacking and blowing, it hurts to cough. I'm on a new antibiotic, but it doesn't seem to be doing a thing. It's probably a virus. I'm sorry about your Fred. Just take it one day at a time. That's all any of us can do. Marti
ReplyDeleteOh Marti--so hard right now--so lonely--Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. Our weather is not great but we haven't had the storms. It snowed a couple inches on Sunday, melted on Monday, snowed again Tuesday night and now it's raining. I'm in for the rest of the day, thankfully. Yes, I could see the broken limbs - must have been very windy there! I'm sure after living with Fred for most of your life, it will take some time to adjust to this new life you have. Love your son's deck - a nice way to get outside! I hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteKathy--It is very lonely--Lynda

ReplyDeleteGlad you have heat and power! PHEW.
Oh, my dear, I think Fred is just continuing to let you know he is thinking of you, is with you (even though not on this earthly plane) and is trying to give you comfort! Hang in there.
WE had wicked storms overnight and this morning. But looks like we have a bit of a break. HOPE it lasts.
Yes, we have to keep our chins up to get through this life, don’t we! It helps. Not easy, but makes life better.
HUGS and blessings!

Oh Barb--Just appreciate everyday--with your family--- Hugs, Lynda-
DeleteLynda, delighted power has stayed on and that you have heat. Be very careful when taking Lopez out.
ReplyDeleteLove your sons deck. Very nice.
Fred is with you. To me, that's comforting. Stay positive and take it a day at a time. Crazy friends help lol
Chin up dear lady
Bad storms, hail, tornadoes and heavy rain headed to St.Louis.
Love and hugs
Marge/St.Louis
Bad weather eh all over--- cold here today-- Good to hear from yu--Lynda
DeleteGlad the power is back on and stayed on. Nothing like being without. We had a round of rain/sleet this morning. We are now bracing for the storm that's supposed to hit us around 2am or so. Very very high winds, with chance of a tornado. Further up North from us here in lower Michigan, they are once again supposed to get rain, snow and more ice. Something they don't need. Due to the ice falling from the Mackinac Bridge they have once again closed it. In all my years, I have never ever heard that. I pray that the storm that is coming won't be as bad as they say. I feel so bad for all those who were affected by it, especially with the cherry growers. They are devastated. Lost quite a bit, so I'm sure Michigan cherries will be sky high this year. I'm also glad that you are staying strong to get through your day. Remember one day at a time.
ReplyDeleteThey closed tht bridge--??--I never heard of that either--Lynda
DeleteGood evening Lynda,
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear you have your lights back on. I was getting worried about you when I didn't see any posts. But I know that the Upper Michigan they had a bad ice storm. I am glad you can spend time at your son's his deck looks like a nice place to sit and watch the world go around. Please know I keep you in my prayers.
Be careful walking out when Icy.
Your Friend Bev
Oh Bev--Yes I need you in your prayers---Thank yu--Lynda
Deleteso good of yu to think of me--so lonely without Fred--Lynda
DeleteI just got back from 8 days in Florida yesterday. Got to visit with a couple who were good friends with my hubby and I. I am so grateful that they still invite me to come and be with them even though my hubby is no longer here. It was nice for me to get away and stop worrying about the restoration/clean-up going on at my house. The little house I am renting has a basement - which is fortunate as we had tornado and severe storms predicted here today. Fortunately they have passed now, but I put a plastic lawn chair in the basement with some things like flashlight, blanket, as it is completely unfurnished down there. I even packed cat treats so I could coax my two spoiled cats down there with me!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear that your place and car are OK after your storms hit! And especially glad you got back power and heat! And happy that you are back to blogging! As for missing Fred, I can tell you that you always will. It will take time as you are now alone after living with your Himself for many, many years and it is hard, very hard to get used to it. I wish I had some encouraging words for you, but it is just hard realizing that you a widow and no longer have the companionship of your sweet husband. We were married for 50 years, started dating in high school so we were together for 57 years if you count high school and college years as we were devoted to each exclusively. So hang in there...it just "takes time" to adjust to your new life now. We can't go back - so we just have to go forward looking for little blessings in our lives each day.
Sandra--- so happy that you wrote--You have been thru this--Do you ever get used to being alone??-It really is lonely??__Does that ever go away?--- Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda: We had a storm today too. Didn't go out at all after our morning walk. Terrible all day - lots of snow and then freezing rain. Tomorrow's supposed to be much better - warmer and sunny! Hope your tomorrow is better too. Hugs Brenda
