Afraid of Getting stuck in the tub?

To-day is Friday, January 2nd-- and it seems freezing cold in here-- I have the fire going, on the main floor--Lopez and I made the bed upstairs--very dark outside--Sushi is wandering around up there--We are supposed to get snow this afternoon--plus I must get my hair done to-day--I was supposed to have that done yesterday--but--I forgot to go--which seems to happen more and more-- (In my "older" age--stuff just drifts in--then out ---of my brain--What the heck eh?)-

-I did tell "that negative committee" that meets inside my head to get lost"--Sometimes one has to do that for sure!

So, last night, the whole family made it to Son#1's restaurant--for dinner--Now , how nice was that??--It was Son#1's wife's Birthday--It seemed like good old times once again-- "Himself"--must've been there--in spirit--I am sure he would not have missed the Birthday celebration!

A couple of "blasts from the past" below--

We were so fortunate to have "my Himself" with us for so long-- I realize that now--96 yrs--You can see Emma (now in her 2nd yr University)-in her Mother's arms--and little Miss Hannah on her Dad's lap-- now finished her university -

-and "wise words"
#1. Act as if you were already happy and that will make you happy!

#2.Life divides people into two categories: those waiting for                      something to happen and those making something happen.

#3.Do not slouch!

OK---enough  ideas here--The day has begun--but--before I go, Have you ever had this problem?-----  It must be an "older age thing----or an "older tub thing"

So get offa here and enjoy your day--This day only comes once--

Loved the words of wisdom and inserts. You inspire me every day. You are an amazing woman.
    Enjoy hair day!
Gosh your family is an eating bunch lol. I'd gain weight around your clan. Glad you all got together as you really enjoy that. 96 years is a very long life. Fred is with you all every moment as he lives in your heart and memories.
    Great family pics
    Be safe out there.
Warm hugs from very cold, dreamy St.Louis
    Keep shining bright Lynda.

  2. Good morning, Lynda!! It is 15 in Ohio. Lots of snow on the ground. I hope you are staying warm. What fun at the restaurant last night. I’m sure Fred was there. Happy birthday to your daughter-inlaw. I do have an elderly friend who is 89 and afraid of getting stuck in the tub but doesn’t like the idea of a shower stool. I have my 17 year old nephew this week. You know I love that! What are you doing today? Have a good one! Hugs!

    2. Do you add your appointments on your phone in case you don’t look at your paper calendar? Just a thought. Enjoy your hair appointment and don’t get stuck in your older tub. LOL!

  3. Glad you had a great time at the party/dinner! Do you use the calendar on your cellphone or computer? I'm 23 years younger than you, and if I don't enter my appointments on my phone calendar for it to send me a reminder, I forget them all!

  4. Good Morning!
It's going to make it into the 30's with some sun here in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky metro area. Yay, for the sun, it's been so dreary out for the past few days.
That's wonderful you were all able to get together at Son#1 restaurant. Just curious, does his restaurant specialize in a certain cuisine? I'd love to hear more about it, in case I ever travel up to Canada. Hubby used to go to Toronto several times a year because the company he worked for had it's headquarters near there in Mississauga . I always wanted to go with him, but I never got the chance.

Have a good day and enjoy your hair appointment. Hugs to you, Lopez and Sushi.

    1. Jackie--Thank yu for writing-- NO-no specialties because everything is special--known for that in town here-- I had the steak and Lobster--It would be wonderful if and when yu ever did travel to Ontario here--and even better if yu made it to Elliot Lake-- Lynda

  5. Good morning, sis.

It's cold here, too...9F, but mostly clear skies. It's been quite a while since we've seen the sun.

How wonderful that everyone came to your daughter-in-law's birthday party. That must've pleased her.

The blasts are always fun to look at. You have a large, loving family!

For me today, it's floors and a load of laundry...and exercising on my new recumbent bike. That's going well.

My words of wisdom: If a thought comes up that makes you feel bad, just 'pivot' to think a better thought or think of something you love.

Take care in this weather and...how did Lopez help you make the bed?
    {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  6. Good morning Lynda, delightful news that you all assembled together at Son #1s restaurant to celebrate his wife's birthday as well as the New Year. That's getting things off to a nice start. Enjoy getting your hair done. We're going to have another weekend with rain. The ground is already so saturated. Those living in the hills are dealing with mud flows and mud slides. Enjoy your weekend.

  7. It's Kathy. It is cold here too but we have sunshine today. Makes it feel just a little better. My husband went shopping - I chose to stay home with Daisy. I have to write everything down, first on my calendar and then on my "to do" list or I forget! And this morning I heard my husband shout - he realized that he forgot to take the garbage can down to the road last night! I think as we age there is so much in our heads that we just can't remember it all! Sounds like a lovely birthday party for your DIL, so nice that the family can still get together! Have a good day.

  8. It's Marti. I'm glad you had a nice evening out with family, it doesn't get any better than that!

I hang a calendar on the back of my back door, and mark my appts, otherwise I wouldn't ever remember them. I never have gotten in the habit of using my phone for that, I need to visually see it staring me in the face. Also, I enjoy marking off every day.

Have a good one. Today sometime I have to start putting the Xmas decs away, indoors and out, and I really am trying to postpone it, because it hurts my back. Yuck! Plus, it's sad.

  9. As many have mentioned, I use a calendar on my phone in addition to my paper calendar. I like the paper one in case my phone somehow goes haywire, so I don't 'lose' the info. I like the phone calendar, because it will sound a little alarm and pop-up reminder on the day of the event before the scheduled time. :D

    Happy New Year.
