Happy Easter-- Happy Spring--Happy Everything!

Good day---Well, I typed the whole blog--then lost it on the computer--

I am up-It is sunny---  cold this AM--=but going up to 11 degrees  this afternoon--It will be a good day I hope! Good Friday I hear we will have 15C --with rain--IT IS EASTER  WEEKEND__-

Have you got your Easter  Bonnet out?--with all the flowers on it"?"?--=Do you remember going  to Church, Easter Sunday, with your patent shoes and bare legs--- AND THEN SITTING ON THE CHURCH PEW WITH YOUR BARE  LEGS"--Remember how cold that Church  Pew felt??

We  used to look like the above-- --only with little Easter bonnets on--Mom  used to take us to a "hat store" and my sister and I  could choose a new Easster  bonnet--something that no-one does anymore--

So, the Lady who lives behind me here , came to the door and asked if I could help them out at the Legion, with Bingo--Of course I told her that I would love to do that--so, I now have something to do--=a place to go--                                So, IT's EASTER WEEKEND--

Make someone   smile today--The Robins have returned--- It Is SPRING!

I am going to get Lopez out of here --Son#2  is in Vancouver--winging his way back to here this evening--Below is  the beautiful walk way along the ewater in Vancouver--- Son#1 just sent it--

I hope that you make to-day "SPECIAL"" in every way you think of--  Get that sprong in your step--- and face the day--

  3. It's Kathy. We will be going to church on Easter Sunday, but no Easter Bonnet's for me. But yes, I remember having to get all dressed up - hat and all with those patent leather shoes and little anklets! I have pictures of dressing my own children up for Easter Sunday, after spending night after night making them new outfits. Good memories! One son will join us at church, then my oldest daughter will join us back at the house for a very sparse Easter lunch. It will all be cooking while we're in church! I love that your neighbor invited you to help with bingo! Gets you out of the house for awhile and the opportunity to meet some people! Have a good day! Storms are coming our way by this evening! I hope to get some gardening done before that happens.

  4. You make me smile, sis.
It's great that you have somewhere to go, something interesting to do, helping...maybe making one or more new friends (we can never have enough friends!).
It's cloudy here, too. We have rain due late this afternoon, with a threat of storms. You know what 'they' say about April showers...
I've been sitting in my car with the manual learning about all the controls and features. Got the steering wheel set at the level I prefer, etc. It's got blue tooth for my phone. The old car only had blue tooth for IPhones and mine is an Android. A call comes in, I choose to push 'answer' on the touch screen and away I go.
    So happy.
I remember getting dressed up for Easter...had, gloves, etc. It's been a long while. I'll probably just wear jeans when I go to my daughter's house for dinner. My grandson may not be there...he has a girlfriend now and his mom is expecting him to be invited to her house for the meal. Darn.
It will still be a great day.
Are you invited somewhere for Easter dinner? I hope you don't have to spend it alone!!!
    Back later...{{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  6. I'm glad you're going to help at Bingo. Just getting out and being around other people is good, necessary really, when you are on your own. You may like it or decide it's not for you ... but you'll probably make some acquaintences who'll become friends.

My family did not get saved and start attending church until I was thirteen, so we really didn't get new church clothing for Easter. But we did have Easter Bunny deliveries and big family gatherings.

These days I attend church alone, but I have friends there and we meet for Bible studies, sometimes for coffee or a potluck. Tomorrow I'll be at church bright and early, and will be helping after the service in our welcome/information center for newcomers. (Easter, Christmas, Mothers' Day ... those are when folks who don't attend regularly always show up for Mom. Which is good ... one of those days may be the one when they decide they should be in touch with God all the time.)

We'll have a friend of my daughter's over for Easter Dinner; we'll be a very small group of four. Which works this year, as we've had some devastating events recently so my energy is not up for a larger crowd.

    Happy Maundy Thursday.

  7. Marti here. Will you be going to church? Having Easter dinner with your son and family? My bf and I are invited over to my late cousin's wife's house, though he's not able to go, he's going to spend it with his family. It'll be me, late cousin's wife, a friend of hers, her son, her son's roommate, my cousin, and her husband. I'm to make the green bean casserole like I always do, LOL. She's hosting at noon, or 11, I think, so there wouldn't be time for church if I were going, which I'm not. I still haven't found a church I like out here, after 6 years living here. Oh well, I'm not that religious. :)

Have a great Easter, whatever your plans!
