  1. Yesterday was my birthday. I turned 78....I don't feel 78! My new mantra is "78 and feeling great!" I have so many things to be thankful for in my life....so even on those days when I am not feeling so chipper, I shall chose to just be thankful for all that is good! I am excited for your move! Moving will be tough, as it always is, my you are one strong lady who can do it! Little package is getting closer! Informed delivery says it is finally in Canada!

  3. I am so happy for you. I have been attempting to downsize my possessions so that I will be half-ready if a move becomes necessary in the future. My time of being alone is a bit longer than yours but I am trying to be ready for whatever comes. I hope that everything works out and the move is a smooth one. Hugs, Harrowjet from Spark days)

  4. I am so glad you have found a place and have made a decision on where you want to live. The little yard will be nice when you don’t feel like walking the dog. This move will be relatively easy since you have already downsized.
    Enjoy the day! Colorado Susan

  5. Good news for you, sis! A townhouse? How many bedrooms, what floor, details, please.
You are really excited. Now you have something to look forward to. Hope Matt understands and that you thank him repeatedly for all the help he has given you. I know you will. That was just a reminder.
I just took my new car back to the dealer. They are replacing the windshield cuz it has a crack. I have a loaner for the day. When I pick it up tomorrow, it will have the rust and interior protection, a new windshield and an extra key fob.
Partly cloudy here today. Kinda colder than it has been. Rain due this afternoon.
Lucky needs attention...they always need something. I guess we do, too.
I'll check end of day again to read comments (didn't see any last night on yesterday's blog. I'll check that again.) {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  6. It's Kathy. You sound so very happy! I love hearing that in your voice. I'm excited for you. I would like so much to move from our home - it's too big and the yard's too difficult to take care of. But it just doesn't seem possible. That's okay - this spring I will plant my garden - finally - for the first time in maybe 3 years. Today my Tom got news that he is pre-diabetic, no surprise to me with the way he eats and the lack of any exercise. But it's got me doing research - how I can cook better, what foods are better for us to eat, can we finally stop eating fast foods! We had Taco Bell for lunch yesterday (not sure if you have those in Canada - it's a fast food for Mexican type food) and it was truly awful! I doubt there's any nutritional value in any of their food! So now I'm on a mission to help my dear husband take better care of himself. I want to find a good way to eat more spinach - it worked for Popeye! And make him take a walk every day. And I have the perfect response - if you don't want to change your habits, take the medicine! Anyway, I am so excited for you. Now you have something wonderful to look forward to! Have a great day.

  7. I love the mantra from Sandra of "78 and feeling great". I am going to adopt that next month when I turn 88. I feel confident that the cold weather has finally gone for good and I feel perkier than before. I guess it is all mental but the sunshine thru the windows really does help! Dot

  9. I'm happy to read that you are excited to move back to Lake Elliot. I think you'll like the little backyard for Lopez. Like someone wrote, you won't have to walk him all the time, and he'll probably get more exercise than he does now. How's Matt taking the news? Is he happy for you too? Will you be able to get your old doctor back? Like someone wrote, you've already downsized, so this move should go much better for you. I wish you well with this new move coming up. I guess I would start packing so that you don't have do everything at the last minute. The more you get packed that you don't use on a regular basis would probably be quite beneficial. Maybe if you move this time, you could get rid of your king size bed and downsize that too, so that you'll be able to change the sheets more easily.

  10. I am so glad that you have a town house waiting for you to move into in Elliot Lake on 01 August! That is just what you wanted! Happy for you. I

It will be another adjustment, but perhaps not as challenging as this move was.

    HUGS and many blessings

  11. Marti here. After my husband passed, I could not stand to see anything that was his (and truthfully, everything that was his was old and worn out from much use). The first thing I did was buy all new furniture, or mostly, donate what I didn't want, and then move. Fresh beginnings are always best, I believe! And you will be back in your old stomping grounds!

Today in my part of Ohio it was 84 and sunny, but now it's raining and going to be all night and all tomorrow and then turn colder for a few days.

  12. Well good for you on finding a place in Elliott Lake. I know you were really wanting to get back there. The townhouse sounds nice and just right for you, Lopez and Sushi. Packing should be a little easier since you have already downsized. I bet you can't wait!
