Never ever give up--

To-day is Saturday January 17th--  I am very late posting--  It snowed all night so I was out shovelling around the car--plus part of the driveway--then shovelled part of the yard out back--then had breakfast with Dave--  (well Brunch--  and- came home to Lopez here-- )-and went out to shovel more --but--yu know what?--I just cannot do it--so--I called Gil who always shovels and blows snow, but he has the flu---he told me about his grandson who does snow-who I just called and they came over and did all the snow-- got rid of it--for a price , of course, but it is all done now--They are great boys to know!--It never rains but it pours!-Right??---Here I was --ready to cry--and it worked out--Lord love a Duck!-                Never lose hope eh???---

and just when I wanted to  give up--no help -- the help appeared--

                                            like a miracle--

-things usually work out-- and if  it doesn't , then it wasn't meant to be--I need to- remember that!

  1. Hi Lynda, I am glad to hear that you found boys to clear the snow, even if it's for a price, it's worth it. Loved the Thanksgiving photo of Fred doing the carving. He definitely knew what he was doing. The photo of Matt and Hannah is so precious. You and Dave had brunch, a nice way to begin a weekend. Take care Lynda, you are a treasure to ALL of us.

  2. Awww - your blog couldn't have come at a better time for me! I am so frustrated because I cannot put together the coffee table I purchased from Wayfair. I got the two matching end tables together, but everything, and I mean everything is going wrong with the biggest table. I have worked on it for 3 days.....holes don't match up, pegs are stuck in wrong places or don't line up....little screws won't screw in and they said don't use a drill! I just came upstairs and was having a little cry when I sat down at my computer to look for some different tables.....I don't care that I will have to trash the ones I can't deal with.....I am sure if I spend a little more money, I will be able to find something nicer and PUT TOGETHER at a furniture store. You are definitely right about spending the money....it will be worth it! This "on sale", cheap, knocked down that you have put together furniture has been nothing but a headache! I've learned a hard lesson here, but it is time to move on! And I am happy to know that you aren't out there doing that back breaking job of shoveling! Hugs!

    1. I usually buy those such things and have the store put it together for me, most decent stores do. The last such thing was a huge hutch type style computer desk. It was SO worth it when the guy put it together for me (for money.

I feel for you. I am very handy and very independent, but would cry, also, if I failed at the job.

When I had a bf, he would put things together for me, but I don't have him now, and it often takes two to put big things together.

  3. Hi Lynda,
Glad Gils grandson helped you out.
Brunch with Dave was a nice change of pace...much better than shoveling. The roads must not have been too bad as you were able to meet him. You are tough.

  4. It's Kathy. I'm glad you got some help with the snow. I would have to hire someone if Tom wasn't here - the driveway is way too long and I'm just not strong enough to do it anymore. But that's one of the things I don't like to think about... yet. Love the Thanksgiving photo - himself looks very happy to be carving the Turkey! I'm glad I came back and checked! Hope it was a good day. Just not enough hours in a day anymore.

  5. So glad you found good help for the snow. I know I might be in the market if the forecast turns that way. Right now it's just COLD, and only a slight dusting of snow, but enough for Ember to snap at and catch the flakes last night when we had "last call" and those flakes were dancing in the air, all sparkly in the porch light.

Brrrr. I should not complain. I've seen much worse in my lifetime, but I'm hunkered down for a few days, keeping as "normal" a morning routine as I can for Ember's sake.
