Your Mother and You!

It is SUNDAY__ THE 25th  OF January--and I am FINALLY on here--blogging--I was out for breakfast/lunch-- with Dave--my friend and my son's friend-It was Breakfast/Lunch----It is VERY cold-too cold to snow--

Last evening I went to a concert--It was all in French--I left Lopez at home and he survived--The concert was all in French-so difficult for me to understand sometimes, but it still was enjoyable---

    Now---Words I wish I had thought of--
#1. Believe the best of everybody--
#2.-Without the past, there is no future.
#3. -Cherish Solitude

Below is a picture of my Mom--before she was even married to my Dad.---She looks so pretty---Too bad we really never think of our mothers as young girls--

and  below that--Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary--
I am in the 2nd row--  far left on the left side of the photo--Fred On far rt-back row

        Son#2, Fred, Son#3 and son#4
        Son#2's Aircraft-below-
so---time to get on with this day--How is your day going?--  Is it "colder than cold" where yu live--because it is VERY cold outside here-
I am sure it is the same in your family--If your Mother was a strong person (was she?)-then I am sure that you are a very strong person--because I am sure that she taught you to be "strong"--Mothers do that!!

  1. Good afternoon, sis.

I am glad you had a meal with Dave...brunch? And a concert! I know you love music...as I do. That was great.

The photo of your mom, mom and dad's anniversary and all but one son with Fred...all great!

Yes, it's cold here...1F. Sunny and no wind, though. That's a wee bit better.

I finally have some heat. My friend, John, did something that helped. Sorry I can't say what.

Walmart delivered my order. No I have cat kibble, catnip, 3 new charging cords, several Healthy Choice entrees...

Just ate lunch and Lucky is waiting for me to join him for a nap. At least he has quite crying. Wish I had more news, but I don't. I'll be back later, though. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  2. Hi. My news is big. It snowed here in Central Ohio ALL night, and ALL day today, and I guess we have about 10" now. I am in Licking County and we have a Level 3 snow emergency, but where I used to live, in Columbus Ohio, Franklin County, is under their very FIRST Level 3 snow emergency in history, which surprises me, because I lived through the blizzard of 1978 and would have thought it would have been a Level 3 then, but I was away at college at the time.

Anyway, I happen to LOVE a heavy snow when it is new and white and pristine, and before they plow, so dog Jake and I went out in it in the morning for his first bathroom trip, as I knew he would love it, and he ran on his flexi lead as fast as he could run, just stopping now and then to pick off the frozen snow on his front feet. Of course, I had on my very warm winter parka with fur hood, a hat underneath, and snow boots with ice grips. After that, they have been plowing, plowing, and plowing some more, they have these little plows where they can zip up all our quads, and plow us out. BUT, it has already snowed over top of all the plowing. Jake and I have to go out again in it at 3 so he can do his number 2, and he's not trained to just go in the front yard, no, I will have to walk him, but I doubt I will go as far as I did this morning. I can do just a quick loop around the corner and back in. I, like an idiot, gave away my snow shovel, because the maintenance people typically come early and shovel our front patio off and put salt, but not today. The drift is as deep as the bottom of my front door. Alternatively, I can go out the garage door.

Unlike you guys, this is all a very very BIG snowstorm that we seldom ever, ever get.

I am so glad you had brunch with your friend and got to go to a concert! That's certainly more than I have got to do, which is stay inside and vegetate! :)

  4. Sounds like you are keeping busy and that is always good. Cold here too, but we still are not getting much snow. Severe drought.
I went to a concert yesterday in my small town. Local brass ensemble and the woodwinds ensemble both played. We have a lot of retirees and others who are very talented. Nice to go and listen to pure joy in these difficult days, and I did not have to decipher French or English!😁
    Stay warm! Susan/Colorado

  5. It's Kathy. Yes, it's colder than cold here but at least the temp has gone above 0 - first time in about 3 days. I have not turned on the television today because I can't watch what is happening in my state anymore! Don't people have anything better to do with their time then stand around in the cold shouting! So I've been reading a book and enjoying that. I'm pretty disappointed with 3 of my 5 children because they support what's going on here. I thought I taught them better - to respect authority. I guess we can't be responsible for them after they've grown up! I'm glad you had a nice breakfast with your friend and good for you for going out to a concert! Have a good day.

  6. My Walmart order was delivered. I now have enough charging cords (longer ones than I had) to charge all my electronics.

To think not so many years ago I wondered why people didn't send greeting cards, thank you notes, personal letters...why they didn't call their friends. Now I, too, am addicted. What would I do without you? Without Facebook and YouTube?

Sigh. Things sure do change! {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
