"I had a really good time being your Mom---"

Yes We "Do" need SPRNG ---- We have a terrific amount of ice on our parking lot--There is no way an ambulance could get up this hill. even  if it had to pick up Himself--

I  just hope that our car does not roll down the hill -You can see the black SUV at the top of the parking area--
So, it has been quite the night for me-- with a sudden realization, that Himself is not going to live forever --and I maybe should prepare the grown children--He had trouble breathing, in the night--but, he did have a better night than the previous night--I believe the antibiotic , which he refused at first to take,  helped to clear his chest and the mucous-I think his oxygen level must be low as he gasps for air--
He does not look like the same person right now--This was him at home in Elliot-a few years ago----always reading the paper-

-I think I should prepare all our grown kids--  Our daughter will be here next month--That will help both Himself and me for sure-----

I found such a lovely thing to tell your children, one by one-- to let hem know how much you love them--all of them---one by one--- letting each child know that you have loved them forever--to the moon and then back-- Just read the meme below---  almost makes me cry--

                                                                            nice eh???

Anyway--- Poor Lopez cannot go out onto that ice--  me neither---I hear Himself clearing his throat--- you know, he maybe picked this virus up at that Chinese New Year dinner (that I could not get to)---I will never allow him , at his age , to go to stuff like that-Maybe he wouldve gone anyway--He is so stubborn--

Anyway, life is what it is-- Hopefully this is just a warning ,from the man above, to be prepared
--to prepare the grown children-- and to be strong to help them live on--AND----  DON'T FORGET TO TELL YOUR CHILDREN___

  2. Lynda, so happy to hear that Himself is still in the physical. I have been wondering.
We are under a winter storm warning in Minnesota, too. Several inches of snow came overnight and it is still coming down. I cancelled my appointment at the VA Medical Center for my EGD. It is rescheduled for April 30.
I'm happy your daughter is coming. You may want to tell the boys in Elliot Lake about how concerned you were, too. They may want to come visit.
I placed a grocery delivery order. I'm so happy I have that. The way the snow plows came through, even our exit and entrance to our lot is impossible to get through. I think maybe the mail will not be delivered today. That would be a first since I've lived here.
I actually got the washer today! Have to go in a few minutes to put the clothes into the dryer.
Lucky already wants his lunch and a nap, but it's way too early.
I posted online that March came in like a lion cub, became a full grown lion, and hopefully will go out like a lamb the way it's supposed to.
Poor Lopez. He may get tired of holding it in. We can't buy ice grippers for wee doggies.
I'll check back again later to be sure this comment stays posted. Then later again in case there are comments.
Enjoy your day, sis. Maybe you'll get some time to relax...classical music, piano, a nap with or without a book. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  4. Hi Lynda! It’s high 50’s and partly sunny in Ohio but windy. I hope Himself gets well soon. Get him a meter for his oxygen level so you have a piece of mind. Oh my, your icy parking lot looks like a skating rink. Terrible! Hope it melts quickly! Have a wonderful Wednesday! Hugs!

  5. I am sorry to hear Himself is struggling with a respiratory bug. Don’t beat yourself up over where he got it, everyone has something this winter, and he enjoyed the New Year’s dinner and quite frankly, that is a wonderful thing to be able to do in your late 90’s. Life has to be worth living, or what is the point?
We all will die, and hopefully we will all be missed terribly, but today we are alive and let’s make it a good day, full of love and kindness and a little joy thrown into the mix.

  6. Lynda, okay, so there is a shortage of doctors which explains why you and Fred do not have an assigned doctor. However, what do people in Lakefield do if they become ill to the point of needing to be checked out? If you think Himself is not breathing properly and low on oxygen, could he possibly have pneumonia? Is Matt home? Maybe you should discuss this with him just to be on the safe side. Perhaps give Fred an extra pillow tonight to elevate his head.

  7. Hi Lynda, so sorry to hear Fred's having difficulty breathing. You can't get out so you can't take him to an urgent care. Keep a close eye on him...as i know you will. Hopefully, he's not running a fever.

It's miserable in St.Louis. Snowing like crazy but the issue is the wind. We have sustained winds of 50 miles per hour and the temps are just at freezing. It was terrible visibility this morning when I had to be out.
    Be extra safe...just stay inside.
    Hugs and blessings

  8. Wow! That ice is beyond treacherous….please don’t venture out….definitely not worth a bad fall! Hopefully, the antibiotics will continue to ease Fred’s breathing…if you think it necessary, call an ambulance. The trained professionals will find a way to get to your house. And, please take good care of you, as well! Eissa7 (Karen)

  9. I'm sorry Fred is not perking up as well as hoped. I know it is hard to prepare for 'some day' being sooner than we'd like. He may heal right up and keep perking along for a good while; some folks live to 100, like one of my old church friends who went to heaven at 101. Like someone else said, if he is not doing well just call the ambulance. Those folks know what to do. And like someone else said, getting a oximeter would ease your mind. I ordered one online a couple of years ago when I had Covid, and I worried so much less.

    Happy Wednesday.

  10. My own mom drilled that into all five of her children: she would read these magazine quizzes that said, "If your children remember one thing, what would you want it to be?" She told us all that we should all know that we were loved. I hope that I've said it often enough to my son, since I only have the one!

Ember is not a fan of icy walking conditions, either, so little Lopez is not alone. She was pretty wigged out when the big weather front came through yesterday afternoon and into the overnight. I slept on the couch so I could get up and let her out when it was the best conditions. I.e. when the gusts were not quite as bad. That happened about quarter to midnight. Then she slept the rest of the night just fine.

Onward... and yes, we all have to be prepared for that day when we won't be around, and do our best to prepare the next generation! Sending vibes for comfort and healing for your Himself. We none of us will be around forever, but... "just a bit longer", eh, Lord?

  11. Wow! That’s a lot of ice. Stay safe!

So sorry to hear that Himself is having breathing troubles, but hope that the antibiotic helps.

Glad that your DD will be there next month. And, yes, best to tell your kids what’s going on. Of course, we don’t have crystal balls, but you can for sure keep them on to speed on what’s going on.

Ok, well, that meme did make me cry. Beautiful. Kids, no matter what age, need to hear that message.

Hugs and blessings, and be safe!
