Stick To Your Guns--Who cares?--

A new day--  and here we are--a part of it--

coldslaw--  sent from Son#2----He is out in Vancouver--

                                                        --and General Tao Chicken--

To-day is Monday,  October 20th--a new day--  already Son#2 the Pilot has called from Vancouver----waiting  to depart to walk the Seawall out there. And Allison, our daughter is trying to  go get her daughter out of bed, to go to visit a University  near  Medina--where they live.  THE DAY HAS BEGUN--

Are you all up--and getting "at-er" --as Dad used to say.??-----  It looks kinda cool outside, so maybe grab a coat on yer way out--
Well, I did just now walk Lopez--in his "parka"----He did his "business" so I turned around and came back--

-We might as well try to  face the day--be happy--- confident, because we are a part of  "to--_day-----

You know, last evening I did drive out to Dunlop Lake--to Son #1 and his wife----passed our old house--had a wonderful home cooked meal with Son#1 and wife--It is always so good to eat with people--drove back home after dinner with Lopez---

-  Now this AM., I have to get my snow tires to the Dealer-- my appointment is tomorrow at 8am--to have them put the snow tires on--Everyday there is something--

Son#2 has just sent a couple of pictures from Vancouver----=  #1--The old Westin Hotel--where we stayed many yrs ago and Fred, and our daughter rode a tandem bike around the sea wall--

and a picture Son#2 the Pilot, just took  of Vancouver---this AM---

                                                    so pretty--daylight here--dark there--

I do hope that your day ios simply fabulous!

  1. It's Kathy. Sounds like you had a good day yesterday and how nice to have dinner with your family. Our water heater died on Saturday - couldn't get a plumber out here until early this morning. He's installing the new water heater now but it's been 3 hours so far! I'm tired and want to take a shower and get dressed!!! I hope you have a good day. It's cool here today and rain tomorrow but the rest of the week will be good!

  2. Gorgeous picture of Vancouver in the pre-dawn light. The coleslaw, not so much (I can take it or leave it). Seeing Lopez on the chair made me wonder if he's able to get up there (and the sofa as well) on his own, or do you pick him up and place him there? With those short legs, just wondering. He seems pretty comfortable no matter where he lands. / Leslie

Hope your granddaughter likes the umiversity she visits. It is such a daunting task to find the right fit! Wishing she and your DD luck.

Lopez looks comfy on that chair!

Hope all goes well with putting on your snow ties.

Vamcouver looks like a wonderful city!

  4. Hi Lynda
Thanks for making me laugh. Love the first insert.
Glad you ate at sons. You see them often. Great.
Good luck with snow tires. Won't be long and you'll need them but you don't usually have to go. You'll be ready.
When is grief group? How about the widow ladies group you talked about starting? You seem to know several.
Picking a college is quite the challenge. Hope visit goes well for daughter,/grand.
Since you're pretty much settled now, I hope you'll find an exercise group or volunteer activity you'll enjoy.
    Have a great day.

  5. I think of you and Lopez every morning when I take Ember out into our own backyard to "do her business" before I dish up her breakfast. Routine if our friend!

Those "every day there is something" keeps us going, doesn't it? Today for me, it was getting the cat's (the Prisoner) flea and tick medication from his vet. I took Ember along in the car to run this errand. I am so glad she seems to have outgrown the car sickness, and starting to look forward to having Dexter (the car) take us for rides. This is important... because after all, Winter is coming!

  6. Hi Lynda! The pics are lovely! I did think the coleslaw was something pistachio dessert. LOL! It was so nice in Ohio today. Went out doing errands and shopped a bit. So nice! You have such a long Winter there. Like my in-laws in Minnesota. That would be hard. I love the heat and sun. How nice you had dinner with your son and his wife. Hope your day was great. Thank you for blogging. Makes my day! Hugs!

  7. Good evening, sis.
There was no blog yet when I checked this morning. Then I got VERY busy. It's 8PM now and I'm just getting back.
Love the photos...expecially the night lights and the food. Saved that meme, too.
I have my new mattress set up. It will never need flipping. The cat stairs (to replace the cat tree which isn't sturdy) is unboxed and ready to assemble. Lucky had his appointment. He actually lost half a pound.
You're blessed to be able to eat home cooked meals with your son, and I bet they love having you, too.
Snow tire, too. I don't believe I will need them. My car has a special setting to drive in snow and it has four wheel drive.
Hope I'm not too late and you get to see this. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  8. We had lots of rain here on Saturday 2 1/2 inches! We really needed it as we had been dry for 23 days! Wrecked a lot of high school homecoming plans for pictures outside! I went to see a group that call themselves the Mershy Beatles, from England. They did a great job of playing and singing the Beatles' hit songs. Love the music from when I was a teen-ager! Brings back lots of great memories of me and my DH as we started dating as freshmen in high school!
I am with you about it being so nice to eat with family or someone. Eating alone is the pits! I usually do it with my plate in my lap in front of the tv as sitting at the table alone makes me feel even more lonesome! Good luck getting those snow tires on! I hope we don't get a lot of snow this winter as it gets harder and harder for me to shovel our long driveway!
