Always take care of your family!

It is Saturday ,--November 9th--seems like it is cold outside--I feel it in here--OMG!--It feels cold -minus  12C--outside--No snow falling --but VERY cold!--dark--------it is "Parka " weather for sure--

I did get to the grocery store yesterday, in the afternoon, but had to park out near the highway---There were so many people there!  I did not attempt to go to  Canadian Tire--as their parking looked so full--Hopefully I can go there this AM---
and--here are a few words I wish I had written, years ago--Life is busy isn't it??--

#1- Shout or joy---

#2.-Spread Happiness--

#3- Return all phone calls within a day--

-Blasts from the past--Below is son#2's daughter--0ur first Grandchild--on an airplane--with her Dad probably the Pilot--

And  another picture of son#4's young son, on his birthday,  with Son#3's daughter who is now in her first year of medicine in Ottawa---

and below, our daughter--holding her baby brother--

Lots to do to-day, -- I must get Lopez out first-and  -It is so cold out there--I do see the sun coming up--in the distance--
It looks like a good day  to have a good day--

Son#1's wife sent a text yesterday, asking why I hadn't been out there for a few days-----  I told them that I was trying to give them a rest from having me for dinner every time I go out there--and--SHE SAID (Bless her heart!)--They are having Pork Chops to-night and to come out--so so good of her!!! I do miss them--but I was afraid I was out there too much--apparently not!-----   nice of her to check up on me!

It is not easy losing a husband-- Life is different --I am getting better at filling in the time, but it can be a tad lonely--so  happy for you all  kind friendly people in town here!-I will never regret moving home -----and that  "Course" I am taking , has helped--the Bereavement Course--I call it the "sad" course!

I must get moving --Remember how special you are-- always take care of your family! They might not always be there!

  2. Good morning, sis. I'm up early today, too.
Those 'blasts'....wonderful memories. And the sunrise over the water is beautiful.
I bet that 'sad class' helps many people.
Doggies have to be walked outside, kitties need their litter cleaned up and box filled... pets make more work, but we DO LOVE THEM!

The photos I sent? One is my new bike. The other me in a wig my daughter talked me into.

I woke up to the sound of the snow plow. We got more, but it doesn't look like much...maybe an inch. I can deal with that if the wind isn't whipping around.
It will be a relaxing day for me today. I may even start wrapping gifts, use my foot spa, nap with Lucky later. But I'll check back here, too. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

Sounds we are both getting the cold temperatures. They are calling for snow this evening.
That's nice your daughter in law invited you out for dinner. I'm sure they enjoy having you there.
Have a good day and stay warm! Hugs to you, Lopez and Sushi.

  4. Oh my! I woke up to several inches of snow and it is still going strong - probably 6 or 7 inches already and the wind is making it really drift up against the doors and windows! I live in Illinois, about 30 minutes from St. Louis, Missouri! The trash company just called and said that they can't come pick up the trash as the roads are too bad! It looks beautiful, but it is like a "white-out" as it is hard to see anything because it is coming down so hard! Thankful I do not need to go anywhere today! Thinking it is a good day to put up my Christmas tree! Was hoping a couple of grandkids could come help me, but there is no way that is going to happen with all the snow and blowing and covered roads! I think your daughter in law is a "gem"! I absolutely hate eating alone and I enjoyed Thanksgiving so much when everyone was here and we shared a great meal together. I have lots of leftovers and planned to invite my kids that live in town to come and help me eat them tonight, but now that is not going to happen as they are telling everyone to stay off the roads and stay home! I am sitting watching the birds come to my seed block and suet feeders - so happy I have food out for them, and it is driving my cats crazy, watching them flitter about! (I have cat trees at the front picture window for them to sit on)!

  5. It's Kathy. I love that your DIL called to invite you for dinner. She realizes that it's hard for you to have to eat alone, and also to actually cook just for yourself. We had leftovers from Thanksgiving yesterday and there is enough to have them again tonight. I love no cooking days. It's snowing again here today. My stepson was suppose to come by to bring us a wreath we bought from our grandson but the snow is too heavy where he lives (about an hour from us). I'm disappointed, it would have been nice to see him and the boys. Maybe another day! Love the photos - so cute the one with your daughter holding her brother. Take care and have a good day.

  8. We had our Thanksgiving dinner on Monday, due to my daughter's work schedule. Thank goodness the leftovers are gone or in the freezer. I went to the grocery store yesterday, figuring it would be sparse as most would be eating leftovers ... nope! It was quite crowded.

Our weather is still making the transition from autumn to winter. This week the predicted highs/low are in the 60s/30s. The last two or three previous weeks brought quite a bit of rain, wind, and snow to the surrounding mountains. We had temperature variations ... some days cold enough for snow, others where both highs and lows were in the forties.

I've been having a lazy day; stayed up much too late last night. I operate better with early to bed and early to rise.

    Happy Saturday.

  9. Marti here. I watched the big Ohio State/Michigan rivalry football game, and we WON this year, I think it was 5 years we'd lost. Then I have been working on my relative's old computers. One I was able to get to work and the other is like 13 or 14 yrs old, no way could it get up and running. I took the hard drive out and will run it all out to Best Buy for recycling, probably tomorrow.

I did not make it to the grocery today b/c of the game.

Was going to start decorating today, but with no bf here to help anymore, I'm putting it off. He helped lug it all in from the garage for me. With my back pain, it's not so easy anymore.

All throughout the game, I watched it snow, so I'm kinda jealous. We have no snow yet.

  11. Hi Lynda,
St.Louis got that white stuff...about 6 inches where I am. We're not Canadians so they are saying stay off the roads. Snowtires are not common here.
After all my Sadie duties, I put up the tree. I couldn't go anywhere so it was a good day to handle that project. Wreath on the door, decorations, nativity set and tree all done.
Very nice of your DIL to invite you out...but please get home before its dark. Im proud of you for not needing to go to their home everyday. Im glad bereavement group is helpful.
    Hope your day was good
    Hugs
