Maybe I have "FATigue"!

                                    A new day---  cold----
 but--we re a part of to-day--

                                                                        WE CAN DO IT!

Last night was a late night for me--  I turned out the light, and locked the door at 10pm--

I have lots of candy left over, but will give it to the Grandkids who didn't go out--the older ones--I was impressed with the children who came "trick or treating" at the door here--The little ones came with their parents in tow--Their children were very polite--  very cute--  would hold out their bags---and always said, "thank you"--sometimes, as they ran across the lawn--I was happy to see the parents  trailing along behind their children--  and the costumes were so cute--

The older children were a tad later--again very polite--always thanked me--And I saw one dog, all decorated , even with lights on the costume.--- Everything ended around 10pm, so I turned off the lights and locked the front door. It was a fun night-- but I was tired when I climbed the stairs to bed.--

Maybe because I had had 3 shots yesterday--2 in one arm and RSV in my rt arm---Covid and Flu in my left arm--and the weird thing is, the 3 shots did not affect me at all--well, maybe made me feel a bit tired----In Lakefield , before the move I had had a pneumonia shot--You remember, Fred had pneumonia--in fact it contributed to him dying--so, it really was important that I had the shot for pneumonia.

I think as one ages, one needs every shot--preventative----but at that time, Fred and I had had no shots--

As we age, we need  everything going--Fred was 96 yrs----Why did I not "push" the preventative shots?--------

---So, I walked Lopez   this AM, and his leash came unattached to him--and he just walked away--He did not know it was not attached to me--It could"ve been  a disaster!  So as soon as I am done here, I shall take a trip to the pet store--a new leash and maybe a new harness--

So far, no repercussions from those shots--  Well, I am quite tired!-Looking outside, -we have no sun --In fact it looks like it could snow!--???????--  Hope not!

Maybe it'S the move---2 moves in a short period of time--not good!

AND---  it seems like a good day to pull out my heavy parka--the little light parka  did nothing for the cold this am----Maybe it won't hurt to try to lose a few pounds-- I might be suffering from FATigue!

                                                                        Who knows eh?

  1. Hi Lynda, I hope you'll be okay (the fatigue). I don't know if I'm not well or whatnot, but sometimes I get this overwhelming fatigue, usually as I'm sitting at the computer, and I just HAVE to go take a nap. Last night was one of those. I had eaten Taco Bell, which would raise one's blood sugar, but it wasn't reading THAT high (I have type 2 diabetes). And, I just went to bed at like, 6 pm. I woke back up to take the dog out to pee, and went right back to bed (laid there and read on the iPad), until I was sleepy again, but then I could not get to sleep.

I didn't realize you would have Trick or Treaters where you live now. I thought you lived in a senior community, for some reason. I bet you enjoyed that. I haven't had beggars since I sold my house and moved to condo living, 9 yrs ago now. I *kinda* miss it, but really, not all that much. It was fun when my husband and I would dress up as Dracula and sit outside for them. But he's long gone, and even if he were alive, wouldn't be able to do that anymore.

Anyway, this morning I woke up earlier than normal, which is something I NEVER do, haha, and went out and took in all the Halloween decorations, and the ones inside here too. I love to decorate for thing, but afterwards it's a pain to put it all away.

I'll be watching THE Ohio State Buckeyes play Penn State at noon here, looking forward to that. But NOT turning the clocks back this evening, I dread it. I get seasonal affective disorder in the darker seasons.

Have yourself a "swell" day! :) It felt cold here this morning, 36 degrees, but I like it cold. It felt really refreshing. The wind had died down. I think Jake liked it too. He has that wooly coat of a Doodle that he is!

Oh, and shots. I always get a very sore and itchy arm after shots. I feel fine the day of, it's the day after I get all that. For maybe a week the swollen arm.

    1. Marti, you might want to get your potassium & Vitamin D levels checked. They can cause fatigue like that. I can always tell if my Vit. D is low because I get like you described.

  2. It's Kathy. Sounds like a fun Halloween. We never have any children living on this busy road. So I no longer buy any candy because I'd be the one eating it! It is chilly here today also. I have just a bit of outside work to finish up but it is suppose to be warmer later in the week. I hope you and Lopez and Sushi have a good day!

  3. Good morning, sis.
It's 40F here with light rain. Not quite cold enough to snow...yet.
Glad you had fun with the tick-or-treaters. We had very few here. The weather, with the rain, didn't help. I will take lots of leftover candy to karaoke tonight...if I go.
I am more and more liking my own space and the company of Lucky.
Today will be a relaxing day for me. I will get out my foot spa, be sure I get an early nap (in case I do decide on karaoke) and early meditation.
I do have 2 things to assemble. 'Becca will help me with them...but I doubt today.
Cute memes...love the one about 'at least I can still drive."
Back later, Lynda. Have a restful day yourself. Good luck at the pet store. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  4. Good morning Lynda, I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the Trick or Treaters last night, and wonderful that they said thank you afterwards. You were brave to get all three shots in one go. I choose to space mine out just in case there's a side affect. I would want to know which one caused the problem. As for making sure that you and Fred took preventive measures by getting vaccines, isn't that something the medical personnel should handle? That's how it is with my doctor. It's then up to me whether or not I follow her advice, and I always do. I am not fond of this back and forth time change, but the lawmakers in the US refuse to budge. Have a wonderful day.

  5. Morning Lynda,
On our street last night, there were lots of trick or treaters for the first hour. It ran 6-8 pm. But, then it tapered off because it was cold, in the 40's, and it was dark. We saw a lot of creative and cute costumes too.

Wow, that's a lot of shots in one day. Is your arm sore? Those shots tend to make me feel a little run down for a day or two.
Glad Lopez didn't take off when his leash came loose. That must have been a scary moment.
Going to hang around the house today and try to catch up on things on my to do list that I haven't had a chance to get to until now.

    Have a good day!

    Jackie

  6. Hi Lynda
Glad you enjoyed your visitors. We don't get any and I don't buy candy. Kids never stay out until 10 here.
Glad you're feeling OK after shots. Dr's normally recommend shots and I'm surprised your Dr didn't recommend them for you and Fred.
Cloudy and 40s here. Feels like fall. Will move clocks back this evening at bedtime. Yours aren't up yet so you have less to do. Yay
Lopez getting out of his gear could have been frightening. Did his hardware break?
I've got house chores today. Sadie doesn't have much energy. I'll get it done. I need your cleaning ladies....not in my budget.
Rest up and enjoy your day.

  8. Hi Lynda! It is cloudy and 53 in Ohio! Our trick or treating was Thursday 5-7pm. It was very cold, rainy and windy! Very few were out. Oh goodness, Lopez got unattached from his leash. I have taught my yorkies “cheese” and they come running just in case! Scary! I am glad your shots have been fine. I don’t do shots. You know I am a medical chicken! I have to ask for the butterfly, “baby needle” for labs and lose sleep over it! LOL!! Hope you are having a super Saturday! Hugs!

  9. Yes! It’s nice to see the parents accompanying the littles.

OH MY! You are very brave to have done all 3 shots in the same day. And they didn’t affect you! THAT part is good.

How scary that Lopez slipped his leash. Miss Lilly has done that a few times. Yup . . . time for a harness and leash . . . all new . . . all slip proof!

Yes, need the heavier clothes and jackets and hat and gloves! Ah well, tis the season.

    hugs and warmth

  10. I find that so interesting about Lopez and the leash. Ember has been off leash maybe four times that I'm aware of. Once when it just gave under the strain. Once when she rolled in something, and happened to roll over the clip "just right". And twice more when someone (lawn guy, both times) had left the gate open not realizing she was outside.

In NONE of these situations did she run off. I don't think she ever became aware that she was loose in the two leash instances, I was able to calmly click it back on without her ever noticing! In the case of the open gate, she came right to a human (the lawn guy in one case, me in the other). I am so glad that when it was important, she knew where safety lay!

So yeah, new harness and leash is a good idea!

Hugs and warmth, I'll join the other Barb in her wishes for you!

  11. I bought a big bag of candy and then forgot to turn on my porch light! So I divided the candy into six big baggies and took them to my granddaughter's birthday party this afternoon! Gave them to my six grands that were at the party! I have to admit that I did keep about 4 little candy bars for myself - will just eat one a day after dinner for a treat for the next couple of days! Glad that Lopez didn't realize he was not on his leash! He is a good little dog! I have harnesses for my two spoiled cats that I put Apple Air Tags on....so on nice afternoons, I do take them out for some fresh air....and if they get out of my sight, my phone tracks them so I can quickly see where they went - usually around the corner by the pool deck...I sure take them out more often, but have just been too busy lately! Took 3 big boxes of old paperwork that I sorted through to a "community shred event this morning.....it felt good to get rid of old tax returns from 1971 and 45 more years of them! I know - why did I keep them all this time???? I am a saver...but the recent dehumidifier fire that destroyed the inside of my house has made me realize I don't need to keep half the stuff.....After the insurance company came in and started gutting everything, I put several boxes of files in the extra garage as I was afraid for them to just be put in the dumpsters as social security #'s were on a lot of the mortgage and tax paperwork! So that is why I had to spend time sorting through many boxes now - and I still have more! Sigh!
