Lord Love A Duck!

It is Thursday, November 11th--a bit after 8am--and it is very cold outside--minus something--  no snow falling--yet--but predicted to fall this afternoon--So----  Here I am, sitting in my wee little cubicle , under the stairs--in my wee tiny house--The cleaners will be here at 10:30am----It was cold in the house here when I first got up--had to "STOKE" the fire--as Dad used to say-

So, yesterday I hired a guy with a plough , to plough the driveway when it snows--He seemed very nice--lives on this street--I used to do it when we lived on the lake--and it was a huge wide drive-- but--hopefully this man can keep up to the snow plough--I think they predict snow this afternoon---

So--a "blast from the past----However it looks pretty recent--

Left to rt--Son#2 the Pilot on the far left--Son#4  on his left--Son#1 on his left--Allison--  and Son#3 on the rt in the above picture--

So, the hospital just called and advised  me to get to the  clinic about the lesion on my head-- --Lordy Be--First I 'm going--  then I'm not--now I am--They told me that I may never get another appointment, so to get down there---  So--I best get off of here and get ready---Lord love a Duck eh??--so much going on--  Do you ever have days like this??--

I guess the above is not going to happen today--This is definitely NOT a slow morning--nor is it a morning  I have any freedom to choose what I want to do--"GO WITH THE FLOW"---Lord love a Duck!

  1. Good Morning,
Please keep us posted about your clinic visit. I hope all will be good news.
It's a cold one here today as well, it in the 30'sF. Tomorrow it's supposed to warm up to the 50's. This crazy weather tends to make people sick with the up and down temperatures.

Stay warm! Sending positive thoughts for your clinic visit.

    Hugs,
    Jackie

  2. It's Kathy. I hope all goes well with your last minute appointment today. Yes, all I want are quiet days but lately I"m not getting that either. Today we have to leave in 1 1/2 hours to drive 4 hours to my son's home so we can celebrate his wife's 50th birthday. Then we will drive home again and get here around midnight. Yes, that feels quite overwhelming. Yesterday we went to our daughter's while she was on the phone with the custody evaluators, her ex, and both their lawyers. It actually went better than we could have asked for - she retains 100% physical custody. But we expect her ex will "raise cane" about that! He'll probably submit HIS version of how things should go. Hopefully the Judge, who has already approved this, will shut him down! Love the photo of your family - such a nice group of young people (compared to us)! Well, I have lots to do before we leave, have a good day! Hope you get your nap in this afternoon!

  3. This is Maggie. The internet is very slow for me today. Did not give me a choice to use my google account so my photo shows.
I hope it's alright about the lesion on your head, and that you will let us know how it goes.
We all have frantic days now and then. I have an appointment at the Veterans Hospital on Friday then to see my daughter.
Today is Veterans Day here. I had an enormous free brunch at my favorite grocery/pharmacy/restaurant.
Now it's chill for the rest of the day. Oh, a few small chores, I am sure.
Love that photo of the family. Your photos are always great. I love the smiles!
It snowed lightly here yesterday, and probably will again this evening. Now it's a mix of sun and clouds and 41F.
I check back later, Lynda, hoping to hear how your appointment went. Drive carefully and be safe. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  5. Well, we’re having the same weather. Cold, gray, dismal. No precipitation today, though, like we’ve had the last few days. I . . . am . . . not . . . a . . . fan.

What? Your landlord doesn’t plough the drive?? Wow. Glad you found someone to do it, though.

Love the blast from the past. Your Allison looks just like you!

Travel safely to the clinic. Thinking of you.

Definitely have to go w./the flow. Not always what we want to do, but usually works out pretty well.

    Good luck!

  6. Howdy, Lynda! Yes, sounds like a busy day! I had a bunch of pre cancerous growths on my face burned off with liquid nitrogen back in October. Hurt a lot when he put it on, and for awhile. Hope it comes back and/or WAS benign.

Your children are all very attractive individuals! I bet you are proud!

Here in Newark, Ohio, it was also cold. The last two days. We had 1/2 inch of snow yesterday. Seems like the earliest we've ever had it. I don't mind snow, but don't care to walk in it with the dog when it gets slick, as I have to then struggle putting on the ice gripper thingies on my shoes or I'd go down in a heartbeat. But this time it didn't stick to the pavement, so I was fine. Today and yesterday I had to trot out the parka with the (fake) fur around the hood, a hat underneath, and gloves. Crazy! Will be back in the 50's tomorrow. It's been crazy windy too, so it felt bone chilling.

  9. I do hope you were able to get that looked at, and will be able to update us all tomorrow. And yes, I think we all have "days like that" from time to time. I took my little car in for significant service today. Glad I had it done, hope it means this car will keep on serving me for years to come.
